So here are the results of my A-Wing build. I used the old Ertl kit with some modifications to the cockpit:  <a href="http://s705.photobucket.com/albums/ww54/xwingfan/?action=view&current=100_0769.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i705.photobucket.com/albums/ww54/xwingfan/100_0769.jpg" border="0" alt="Unfinished Cockpit"></a>

And here is the finished cockpit: <a href="http://s705.photobucket.com/albums/ww54/xwingfan/?action=view&current=100_0788.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i705.photobucket.com/albums/ww54/xwingfan/100_0788.jpg" border="0" alt="Finished Cockpit"></a>

I also added new launch tube trenches using halved drinking straws and styrene tubing: <a href="http://s705.photobucket.com/albums/ww54/xwingfan/?action=view&current=100_0890.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i705.photobucket.com/albums/ww54/xwingfan/100_0890.jpg" border="0" alt="Finished A-Wing: Port Side"></a>

And here are a few more shots of the finished model:  <a href="http://s705.photobucket.com/albums/ww54/xwingfan/?action=view&current=100_0889.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i705.photobucket.com/albums/ww54/xwingfan/100_0889.jpg" border="0" alt="Finished A-wing: Bow on"></a>

<a href="http://s705.photobucket.com/albums/ww54/xwingfan/?action=view&current=100_0891.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i705.photobucket.com/albums/ww54/xwingfan/100_0891.jpg" border="0" alt="Finished A-Wing: Aft Starboard"></a>

<a href="http://s705.photobucket.com/albums/ww54/xwingfan/?action=view&current=100_0898.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i705.photobucket.com/albums/ww54/xwingfan/100_0898.jpg" border="0" alt="Finished A-Wing: Ventral"></a>

I had a lot of fun with this build and the weathering.

Thanks for lettign me jump in!!!

Here are the pictures. Sorry about the crappy lighting.

Again, this is AMT/ERTL's AT AT imperial walker. A really ill fitting kit, but the end result is pretty nice.

Just wanted to post a message.

My AT AT is finally done. I just scraped in before the deadline, but I got this miserable kit done.

I have put more time into this beastie than just about any kit I have done!  Sanding and fitting and scratchbuilding detail really added a lot of time to this build lemme tell ya. I thought it would be a quick throw together in a few days deal. Far from it.

Anyways, pictures will be posted up tomorrow. I need to get to sleep soon :) its 2 am and I just gave it a final dullcote.

Great looking stuff here folks!!  Looks like I found this one about 50 weeks too late!  Any chance of a 2010 Star Wars group build?  How about a BSG group build....something different.  Yep...you guessed it...I have two unopened BSG kits under my bench.Big Smile [:D]  Again, top notch work everyone!!

I've had that kit kicking round since 2001. I never thought it would (could?) look decent, but wow, I actually feel like building it now, thanks.

Well I've been able to make some more progress. I should be done by Monday! Here are some moe WIP pics.

After I sprayed the future on the base and let it dry for a couple days I shot some MM gun metal enamel then soaked some cotton swabs in mineral spirits to wipe it off the raised lettering. I'm happy with the way it came out.

I shot the eyes with white then somehot magenta to make it look as if they are lit up

Well I'm finally done with most of the painting. I just need to add some black to the guns, spray on some future and then a quick wash.

I sprayed the base with white and red. I'll spray on some future then hit it with enamel black and wipe done the raised letters with some mineral spirits.

I havent forgotten this GB.

Here is where I sit with it right now. Got a lot of work yet. Soon as I finish my nearly done ME163Komet for the Endgame 1946 GB, I will be concentrating my efforts on the AT-AT.

The promised ARC 170 with a scratchbuilt interior and custom markings of WWII descent.

Bow Down Kudos to anyone that can tell me what the markings on the left wingtip read. took 2nd at Gatorcon yesterday. Next is my 25mm West End Games Tusken, took 2nd at the R6 Regional in Little Rock. Following that is my Ghosts of Tattoine 'vaporators.

Alrighty,

Since I've currently got a 1/24th resin A-Wing on the bench- I'll bring it into this GB.

Here's a lil photo essay without text just to show progress.

UPDATE 11/11

The two hull halves were joined.

After studying the studio filming mini I realized all the added 'detail' within the side weapons launcher was not present on studio-vs-kit? So I revised my plans and added styrene tubing instead which was sunk in place. Here, it's being roughed in.

Hi all! I tried to to light up the driods for the build but I would up messing it up! I had to buy another kit and I'll figure out how to make the eyes glow pink iwth paint instead. I just finished glueing and rescribing last night and will spray on some primer tonight.

Ok well I am FINALLY getting to the ARC 170 I promised under my previous screen name.

Guess that is one reason I have never joined GB's before, I have too many other things going on to finish a GB.

Thanks Boba.

Should I try to make a lil "compilation" post of how they reached their current states?

Just LMK and sorry it took awhile for me to get back.

Hello!

I was just given a headsup to this GB but it does prove I should "look around" more often.

Is it too late for me to ask to join in?

I'm currently working on two resin 1/72nd scale kits from Sovereign Replicas. One is a "Clone Wars" Y-Wing and the other is the "Tie Defender". Both are WIPS in the SW board right now and I expect to complete them before the GB deadline (I'd better!) and only started them within the past 2-4 weeks each.

Just let me know if I can "play too"?

Thanks

I'm still here too...slowly plugging away.  Working nights/12hrs shifts doesn't leave a lot of free time.  Not to mention other hobbies plus honey-do lists and kids... LOL!  I should have a new update to post by the end of next week.
