Cosmic J: Ok. I thought only Revell did that kit. Isn't the AMT screw put-together or something? Doesn't DQ you from the GB but I was just wondering. Happy building!

Nope. The AMT kit is much nicer than the Revell offering. Lots more detail in the cockpit, multiple variations of the cooling vanes, better panel lines, etc. If you can find one, I highly recommend it. Thumbs Up [tup]

Dude I really hate to bug you but could you get it to badge size? (remember, I'm helpless with 'puters) The re-formatted text is much better! To get the stuff as large as possible and as much detail on the picture, could you crop out as much black space on the picture's edges? Thanks much!

Another attempt at the badge.  I really do like this artwork for the overall Star Wars universe (the other badge was also very good) but it's really a difficult source file to work with.

Edit - this doesn't look like it's going to work.  Let me know if it does but it looks like it has a lot of blank white space included.  I'll keep working on it.

Second edit - perhaps this one?

But then you'll have to stop posting.

I think the second attemp for the badge looks good.  You can tell what the picture is.  I dont think we can get it much clearer and still be badge size but the words are nice and big.

If at first you do succeed, try to hide your astonishment.

Final edit, I love the size of the one on the bottom! Perfect! Now it seems to have a grainy texture? Could you just smooth it out and then you are finished with it! Sorry man!

Right Graham, I'm putting the Star Destroyer down t'ill start time. I picked up a Revell Y-Wing  today. Lookss kinda cool, going to build that as well.

So a Republic Star Destroyer and a Y- wing for me, to start....Maybe a falcon later.

Just noticed that Revell are doing a pre painted Republic Star Destroyer and it might be really suitable for any younger modellers joining, its thte same as the glue kit just snap together and looks the part.

Good luck to all.

Andd a very Merry Christmas to all.

Terry.

Ok Terry. But noone can start till the 1st. Otherwise, the GB would be 08 and 09. If you want to do the Republic Star Destroyer, you'll have to wait to finish it up untill the 1st. If you want to finish it now, I can't include it. Sorry about that. But you are definately down for the Y-wing!

Thanks very much Graham, thats cool, I really didn't want to break the rules/guidelines.

I will be trying an old method for panelling the Star Destroyer using small squares of masking tape.

The Y-wing looks cool and has a yellow stripe, so all I will be doing is really an assembly and weathering. If I can pick up any others cheaply before the new year I will notify this thread and you can include them.

Now I'm off to watch Episode 3 again.

Terry.

Oh, man! I so wanna watch that now! Except I have homework...Sign - Dots [#dots]

Tell me, what's the point of spending like 7 hours at school, and then doing more work later? Ok, I'm homeschooled so I don't have as much since I do most of the work during class, but the principal! (Viva la revolution! Down with tyranny, up with freedom! Viva la republic!) hehe.

About the SD, could you throw a couple of pics in sci-fi? I would love to see it! Have a great day!

That's no problem.  You're old and rusty, I'm new and have no experience.  I bet you pick it up again faster than I learn it.  Welcome to the GB.

LOL! Awesome kit! The bike fits together great but the rider has some serious gaps. If you want ideas for a "what if" thingy, go to sci-fi and look up my pos, "Star Wars Storm Commando". It's a couple of pages down so use search. Hey! Crossovers are fine! I just want as many people on this build as possible.

Is it AMT? I know that SMT had some resin kits that were awesome so I don't know. I'll add it as AMT for now. You are number 20!

Sigh, another GB lures me in.  Can I be put down with the AMT Encounter with Yoda kit?  That's all pending if it isn't picked for the In my stash GB.  'If it is, I'll just buy a different kit.  Whistling [:-^]

I know! Since I've read the books, I always wanted something Yuzzhan Vong. I know that it would be easy to scratch, as no two are exactly due to the fact that they are living. I'm looking at doing a stryene frame, and then covering that in this stuff I found which is basically chicken wire. After that, I'll coat it in sculptamold, and while that dries, throw all sorts of plastic scraps and other such little chunks of stuff. I'd shape the plasma cannon outta stryene tube, and then give it the same treatment. For the cockpit/pilot, I'll modify a pilot I hijacked from another kit. I'll add the Vong stuff there, and then paint it in a base coat of red, followed by purpule. By the way, does anyone know how to make custom canopies without vac-form? Will thermoform work? Thanks.

Hi all, it's me again with more probably stupidish questions.

Ok, I see the gb badge's in the signatures and from what I have read you get them when your done or when you partipate, so which is it on this gb?  And do you have to ask on each build as I haven't see in the rules where it is said, so how do you know?

 Thanks again

Well, I want as many people as possible to sign up so you get to take it when you sign up. That, way, I might lure a few more people into the GB. I was gonna bug Aggieman to clear the image up as it is a litle grainy but I guess the one he has is fine. (Note: host it on your own photobucket account. That way, you will retain your own bandwith.) Don't worry! Stupidish, stupid, or good questions are always welcome! If you want more info on the GB, I have everything on page 1.

What do you mean by saying "crossovers are OK"?

I don't currenly have a kit but sign me up! and depending on your answer to my question, will govern what kit I go with.

Some people spend their whole lives wondering if they made a difference. Gundams don't have that problem.
