Gotcha on the boards! I wanted to build that kit a while ago, but I didn't have any cash at the time. If it looks really good, perhaps I'll muster the dough to do it!

Time to get ready troopers! I can't wait to start with you guys! Now we need some motivation music for this build... Let's see, battle of the heros, duel of the fates, the imperial march, hmmm....

I found an unbuilt Snowspeeder in my old room at my parents house, put me in for that and I will find something else to go with it later.
Some people spend their whole lives wondering if they made a difference. Gundams don't have that problem.

I've decided what the hell, just go for it. As i am putting in an order at the end of this week with the only company in the UK that does Fine Molds (that i am aware of anyway), i am just going to get the kit while i am at it. The only one they have in stock is the TIE Interceptor, so put we down for that as a deffinate. Not sure when i will be able to start it, but sure i can slot it in between an aircraft and a tank somewhere during the year.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Who do you mean Comet? ... try HLJ first I put in an order with them the other day. With the Euro to the Dollar its worth it, think Y-Wing about $36 THats about €28ish and about $10 postage, even with Euro to Sterling at 97 to the pound its cheaper than the UK at the moment, I think I just really need another Y-Wing while they are cheap.

Bought Eps 4-6 finally yesterday afternoon.  Just finished something I hadn't done in 25 years, watched all three back to back.  Last time I did that they were on the big screen.  Looking forward to beginning in about 23 hours.

Its only 13 hours away for me right now, but I'll be downtown tonight anyway.  And my Virago still hasn't made it here.  I hope this chick sends it soon.  Censored [censored]

SkullGundam - Did you buy that Virago on eBay for pretty cheap?  With one other person bidding on it?  XD  if you did I'd bet it was me because I lost one around the time you were first talking about it, and I ended up getting another kit from that girl and I havn't gotten it yet either XD

Happy New Year Everyone!  It's 2:45 here so california has a few minutes and if you live in Alaska or Hawaii oh well, I'm a bit early.

Wingform84: yeah that was probably me that veat ya.  I'm glad to hear you got one though.  Were you thinking a traditional color or something unique?  I'm thinking black panels with a green trim maybe.  I like Green and I figure since Xizor is a reptile and all maybe he has an elite green squadron.

I'm interested, but don't sign me up just yet.  If I decide to go for it, I'll get a kit.

I to have a strong interest in this type of GB, like [Fantacmet] I need some time to get all the parts I need to build the two I want to build. Wich are a TIE Bomber & stock TIE fighter. But the bomber must come first. I'm going to scratch build the full TIE bomber, an added the wings to the stock TIE. From a TIE Int. Give me one and a half weeks to get all the stuff I'll need then add me to your list.

Happy New Year everyone!

I got started on my X-wing today. Has anyone else working on the AMT X-wing yet?

Looking closely at it now, this kit might be a bit of a challenge. A lot of flash in corners and on edges.

The details on the engines don't line up. I had best luck by cutting off the alignment tabs, sanding the mating surfaces flat and test fitting each half with another until I found the best match. Then I did the old liquid glue trick, clamping the pieces together, sticking a razor blade in the seam, prying it apart slightly and letting some liquid glue run down the seam. The same technique was used for the blaster cannons.

The wings have a pin on the lower wing that goes in a hole on the upper wing to hold them shut apparently. The pin was easy enough to cut off, but teh hole was a bit more work. I stretched a sprue and wedged each end into the hole to plug it. Once that dries, I'll cut it flush and sand it smooth.

The R2 unit is just bad. Really light panel lines and no raised detail. I'd love to do the cone topped R2 (like the red/white one Luke almost bought from the Jawas in "New Hope", everyone calls these R5s, but Luke called it an R2 in the movie), but I'm not sure how I'd fab the head. Anybody have any ideas?

The pilot figure is also all wrong. He's missing the vest and the box hanging on the front of the suit. His helmet is wrong too. I'm going to have to fab up some bits to fix him.

Anyone else think the bright orange flight suit is weird for a combat pilot? You have to eject and you might as well paint a big bullseye on you. I'm thinking of maybe a gray or green flight suit. I'm sure they have some kind of tech gadget for the Rebel rescue folks to find them.

Well that's all for now. I'm hoping to get the wings done by the weekend and get a start on the cockpit.

Well Terry 35, I just came back from my not-so-local-LHS and I found the Y-wing for 8 bucks! Please don't tell me you're actually done! Could you alert me to any pit-falls before I start in? Thanks!

Graham go to starship modeller and you will realise how accurate the Revell offering is. And you got yours for 8 notes, cool. Will psot later over on Sci-fi, at moment just dying from hangover.
