Hi Deeve and welcome to the forums. Im allegedly running this GB and i say if you post a few more shots of the plane (The one i saw, you couldnt make out the camo too well) you get an honary membership. All those in favour say I. You have to participate and possibly build something else. Whatcha say? No excuses.

Excellent job, Steve. Shes stunning. The smoke rings came out perfectly. The white nose looks spot on as well. 100% my friend.

Nicely done Frank, its all in the details. Well I guess while everyone is locked up in jail I will keep building. I am just about done with this one. Its still a bit wet but I snapped a few shots to show how its looking right now. I will check it out tomorrow and do whatever fixes it needs.

Thanks for looking guys. Hope it gets better Guy, hang in there buddy and get yer mojo back.

Deeve-

Beautiful job on that 109!  Did you use the resin cowl top?  If so, how did yours fit?  Mine looks to be for a different kit.

I worked on mine a little tonight, adding the hatch and pull-strap for the pilot's stowage compartment on the rear bulkhead.  Photos I have seen of this hatch showed that it usually had a poor fit, and stood proud of the surface of the bulkhead.  I made the hatch from .005 styrene sheet, and the hinge from a section of stretched sprue. Thumbs Up [tup]

I know I didnt join this group build, but just as it was starting, I was finishing my Regia Aeronautica BF109G4.

Its the Hasegawa 1/48 kit. It's no best of show, but it turned out pretty good considering I built it :)

Guy - Thats a real stinker about your kit. What country does PCM 's come from anyway ? I have never seen one before.. If I was you I would strip that resin of the detail parts, cut some styrene for the ribbiing and go from there. I am sure you would have whipped into shape in no time.

I also think you should grab an old Airfix, Matchbox or Frog kit and work your magic Propeller [8-]

Aaron - I can not tell you how much I like your build. You are a "Master Modeler" in my eyes.  I bet you really enjoyed the works of Shep Paine whenm you were growing up.  I am ready for your nect build as it is Pure Enjoyment to watch and learn. (hey I dont watch tv so this makes up for it)   In case you missed it earlier check your pm's.

Man that really stinks Guy. Sorry to hear about the 205. I thought PCM kits were suppose to be pretty good but from what I have seen in this GB apparently they are not. I was planing on purchasing a couple but I think I will not be purchasing any of thier kits unless I can read an impartial review of the specific kit. Do'nt get bummed out. If the kit is a stinker thats not your fault. I am interested in seeing some pics of the Cr 42. How did the struts work out for you and do they look good as far as scale? I prescribe a nice Tamagawa kit to get you back on track agian. It always works for me. If that does'nt work you can always take it out on the blue hair biddies!

Hang in there Guy, I went through the same thing last year and took a break. I did not get work done last weekend on my build because I was working on my other hobby, ''Stamp Collecting''. Hey !!! its very calming and relaxing.

Guy sent ya a PM you booger!

Thanks Dave!  Sounds like Guy is having the same PC frustrations I experienced! He shall prevail!  He just forgot who to blame for the misfitting mishaped and misaligned parts and fit issues! And after all that trouble the fellows here did to make you the scapegoat!

Guy Blame Dave he can take it ! Then get back on that horse and giddy-up! Cowboy [C):-)]

Aaron, for what you started with you did a Stellar job! Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]  Even though you didn't paint the cowl purple it looks great (would've looked better in purple though Disapprove [V]  Looks like you had a lot of fun taking the pics too.  Where'd that spitfire come from?!?!?! Shock [:O].  should've had the spitfire up in the sun!

Guy, man you are having some rotten luck with those PCM kits.  I think you need to find a cheap old kit like Aaron did and just bang one off the bench to get your mojo back.  Stamp collecting?!?!?! Shock [:O]  Not for a man of your talent!!!

Very nice Aaron, your doing this GB a sterling service my man. I think it looks just right with the yellow nose.

Ive had an absolute nightmare, Ive officially given up on my PCM 205. No joke. I got to the stage where the pit needed to go in and it just wasnt having it. Everytime i tried to get the cockpit sides flush with the fuzz the CA would pop apart under the strain. On closer examination the actuall shape of the curvature of the resin pit was no where ear the shape of the fuzz. Im just spent, really. I turned to the CR. to try to get my mojo back. Failed. The CR now has struts though, just needs a little paint.

I need another hobby, something simpler, like stamp collecting.

Aaron, Guy, I have a Reganne 2001(?) and yes there are definitely similarities between them.

Frank, there was only one prototype made so I only have one choice unless I decide to do a what if operational marking.  The prototype had a scheme similar to the one Sean just did.  Here's a rendering of what it looks like...

Sean, no rubber wheels thank goodness.  Guido is looking a little blueish-grey still.  You would too if you were stuck in a box for 20+ years.  Laugh [(-D]  Ah well, we'll freshen him up a bit before we send him up for a flight.

Dave - I like it Thumbs Up [tup] DId this aircraft have the super tiny rubber wheels ?  Guido looks a little pale ~ is he airsick before getting off the ground ?

Aaron - You really need to build a 1/72 aircraft. I have to warn you though they are Habit Forming.  ps ~ check your pm's.

Frank - Thanks for the reply, hmmm here I thought you liked P/E details. I a not very impressed by them either except for IP panels and seatbelts also. They (eduard) can keep their Mini Toasters with the bent forks stuck in them !

Hey all, Frank thats looking sweet my friend. You look like youve done one or two of those before. Especially like the IP. Im a PE nut, i just cant buy enough of the stuff. Ive beeen using it since i got back into modelling and the only tool ive ever bought to fold the stuff was a pair of tamiyas photoetch pliers.

Dave, Looking close to paint, if its not then you only have yourself to blame LOL. Isnt it funny how so many of the italian fighters looked so similar, even from different manufacturers. Fiat, Reggiane and Macchi all produced stuff that, to the untrained eye, was identicle. Crazy.

Well my plans for today, as im off, are,

1st, The model shop for 2 kits...A Gotha GV or GIV in 1/72 and the Revell 1/32 JU88

2nd, Off with SWMBO'ed to get her some shoes that fit her huge swollen Club foot.

3rd, Do lunch. She paying. Wooo hooo, Steaks all round (Doh im a veggie)

4th, Get home and look at the leak in the bathroom. Doh

5th, Have a look at a buddies car that needs a shocker replacing.

6th, Photograph another model that arrived yesty for THIS GB!!!

7th, and finally, if time, DO SOME MODELLING!!
