Thing about the Waddler, it was flightless, although it was very popular in the southern Brazilian port of Bahia.

Like those roundrels very much. Inspired to create the same for the Retrieval Squadron 111.

Squadron codes LA-B on every a/c because after all it's one big happy dog!

I'm still in on this but I have yet to decide what will be my project. Maybe a navalised version of a landplane?. duno. I'll keep you all in the loop though.

I hope your recovery goes as well as possible. I'm choppin' at the bit to get started. My problem is I've got too many ideas running through my head. I was going to wuss out and make mine a land based USN Hustler, but I think I've figured out how to make it work for carrier ops. Lots of spare parts going to be used on this beast!

I am have a second idea... a 1930's racer...maybe a modified P-26....I have to look in my spare parts pile if I still have that kit....

  Your re-engined BUFF reminded me of my version of the "Flight of the Old Dog" B-52 that was re-engined in a later book and thought you might like to see it.

 The fuse is Italeris su-22 (1/72) the wings; academy f-4 (1/48)

 I have a pretty healthy "boneyard" for extra bits and pieces. Can't wait to get started. must first finish F-82e.

I've got a little work done, but not knowingly. I thought I was working on a couple of F-4 burner cans, but then I began to wonder where they came from. Turners out they were the cans from the Sea Hustler and I set them aside until now. I've also started splitting drop tanks to fabricate a deeper wheel well for the main gear.

 I just can't make myself take the razor saw to ANYTHING!!! AAAARRGGHH!!!

 Don't know WHAT...or...IF,...it's gonna happen!!!

 It helps if you find a couple of cheaper kits. There might be something in the clearence shelf at a Hobby Lobby type store. That's where I stock up on Revelogram Hornets and the like. Also, if you do have Hobby Lobby where you are, check their website. You can download a 40% off anything coupon to get a suitable donor.

I've moved forward on the wings and wheelwells. To make room for the beefier landing gear, I've done a bit of modifying to those areas.... All the wheel well detail come from me chopping up some spare parts to a 1/48 B-1B I'm in the the prorcess of building.

I have started on my F-18 FSW. The donor kits are a airfix F-18 and a matchbox Gnat.

Hare are the parts:

First layout, X-29 style, the canards wil be made by cutting the tailplane of the F-18.

How is everybody coming along with their start?

 I am making a paper template for the connecting part between the fuselage and the wing, using the X-29 as an example. Once I got the template I will make the piece with styreen. I will post some pics shortly.

Eddie: The Sea Hustler is looking awesome. Love the additions you have made. I also just joined the What If Modelers forums and have been following your progress there as well. And there are some very interesting builds on there that get me pondering.

Borg: Your F-18 is, well, interesting. I am not real sure what to make of it right now. A NASA cross between the F-18 HARV and X-29 possibly? I do like the forward swept wing idea. Looking forward to see some pics.

Pavlvs: An AC-135 sounds cool. You can put me down for a SEAD Mig-25 "Strella" as well. I have started it as a fun side project so it might take a while. I have some of the wing modifications done and will post pics shortly.
