You should keep Tulagi in the badge.

Ok. No problem. How about the one in my signature now?

Scott

P.S. Just let me know what you think I'll change the badge as many times as needed, just more Photoshop practice for me.

Hi,

      Everyone

I think jeaton might have a point here. So I have reduced the current badge to 160 X 120 and added it temporarily (as I am still waiting on my kit in the mail let alone started it Boohoo [BH]) to my signature.  Now I cannot increase the size of Guadalcanal because that is one whole pic, while the 2 flags and the title are individual pics layered onto the Guadalcanal pic. So I can change those.

Let me know what you'll think?

Thanks

Scott

I've started on the TONE. It has been interesting so far, The plastic doesn't seem to like my tamiya cement so I have been using CA glue.

I would suggest increasing the size of Guadalcanal and reducing group build to GB.  Once it is reduced in size to fit the usual space it will be hard to read.

If you think you can finish something by the early February end date, you are more than welcome to join. At that point, I suppose it depends on what you will build.  As for me, I have a fairly slow rate of completion, so I would say no later than mid December.

Welcome over to this one

Jason

Thank you, Jason. I am very fascinated by the Pacific aspect of WWII, and while this GB is very focused on an important battle, there are too few participants! guadalcanal was a very important win for the Allies, especially when you consider that Airacobras and Wildcats werethe mainstay at that time.

Hey

      All

Just got an email from the seller of the Suzuya with the tracking number and also decided to go ahead and order the 1/700 IJN Cruiser/Destroyer set from GMM. Would be nice to start on this this weekend, but with the holiday I'm not to hopeful.

Just wondering though, is there anything I should watch out for with the GMM set?

See Ya

I'm quite fond of Zero's and have always wanted the Trumperter kit. When I saw it for $40 on a closeout sale I had no choice. I just need to take my time so I don't screw up a good kit!

Hey

    All

Just ordered my Suzuya off Evilbay. Got it for $23.69 including shipping. I'll probably see it in about week with the holiday. Once I get her started I'll post some WIP pics. Trying to figure out if I want to add P/E to her or not. Anyway, just wanted to give an update.

That is all

for now put me down for a "Zero": it will be either a 1/48 HAsegawa A6M3 Type 22, 1/48 Hasegawa A6M3 Type 33 or a giant 1/24 Trumpeter A6M2b! I'll figure it out as I get nearer to starting...

Let me double check the stash, and if you have room for another I'd love to join.

Stikpusher:

Do you know where I can find a list of the Japanese aircraft that participated at Guadalcanal? If you allow crossovers, I'm going to try to build a Zero and have a few different variants. Besides, Randy and Hans will need something to shoot down...

M1 A1 A2 Tanker, you are more than welcome to join with Suzuya. She did indeed particiapate actively in the campaign overall, if you check out this link: http://combinedfleet.com/suzuya_t.htm

She fought alongside my subject vessel, IJNS Yugumo, with the carriers at Eastern Solomons and Santa Cruz, and also participated in a bombardemnt of Henderson Field in November. So I would label her as partaking in direct action. I will add you and Suzuya to the list.

Thanks for the help with the GB badge! That will do nicely!

Scott- you are updated, welcome aboard!
