I have an Airfix Gruman Duck (thanks Bondo how did you know I was looking for one?) and some decals for a US Coast Guard aircraft based in California. Its technically the pacific and it would have been looking for Japanese subs but its not the first thing most think of when they hear war in the pacific. If that will work I'll build the duck.

Given that the Japanese attacked as far south as Sydney with Submarines and we Australians certainly consider that part of the Pacific war, then I am absolutley going to Given that the Japanese attacked as far south as Sydney with Submarines and we Australians certainly consider that part of the Pacific war, then I am absolutely going to allow a Coast Guard bird from California.

So Aaron [welcome] to the build and I'll look forward to checking out your duck as it comes along.

There was a weird incident where Japanese incendiary balloons shorted out a powerline to the Hanford nuclear reservation, where plutonium was being produced for the Trinity tests, and the Nagasaki bomb.

Sign - Welcome [#welcome] Aaron!!!!! Nice to have you here!!!! The final decision would be with the CO on that one. I would say yes, that was the homefront of the PTO in reality. Would love to see that build as well!! The west coast of the US was on their list of things to do!!

I'll vote for that one being included Aaron. Considering that Japanese subs did operate off the California coast for awhile early in the war, even torpedoing some ships and doing a shelling of an oil refinery in the Santa Barbabra area.

Considering the length of this GB, after my F6F, I am thinking of adding on a PTO Sherman... in 1/35 I have a few to choose from.

I was considering a Sherman, but the kit in the stash is the Dragon M4 ETO version. I opted for the F4F-4, next best thing to a tank.

Just the fact that putting "Disco Stud" on your jacket was considered cool makes me laugh...and I'm a 70's and 80's child!

My favorite episode is a tie between Homer selling his soul to the Devil for a doughnut and the one where Homer and Bart run across the wrecked "sugar truck".  Best line: "Woo-Hoo! Three day weekend!"

...Sorry, this is way Sign - Off Topic!! [#offtopic], but too good to pass up!

I've been scrambling trying to clear the bench.  I'm hoping to have my Hase 1/48 A-7D finished soon (I picked up the "Molar Maurader" from Two Bobs, everytime I look at the decals on the plane I have to laugh).  And I'm starting to sweat some parts I ordered from Great Models for the GB.  I NEED the PE rigging set for the Pete and some resin seats for the Dauntless, both of which are backordered!  Yikes!

Well only a couple of days to go till kick off so I thought I had better go and get some paint for the Zero.  Not surprisingly Tamiya released a full range of paint to go with the 32nd scale Zero offering they put out a few years ago.  So a quick trip to one of the LHSs at lunch time and I'm now all "painted up" and ready to go.

Well I'm building an ARH Tiger chopper for the Helicopter GB, a 1/48 Crusader (tank) and I'm trying to finish off my F4U-5N for the Corsair GB.

Sean excellent choice, consider yourself rostered for a Shermy

Finishing the SAC II GB, getting traction in the Matchbox GB and starting the latest FAA GB. Lots of good modeling ahead this year. GBs are a great inspiration.

After the "bad things happen to models in the heat" discussion I spent a few hours going through my stash. Everything looks OK (phew!) and I moved them into our storage unit - a nice, indoor a/c space.

I also got some build time over the holiday to work on the P34. I got about 30 parts prepped and painted (4 colors). Only two more colors to go, hopefully this week, then I can start assembling the rear suspension!

I never realized this kit was the first 1/20 Tamiya put out. It started their line of 1/20 F1 cars. It was also motorized at some point and has the separately molded AA battery lid in the bottom of the chassis. This will have to be mounted, filled, smoothed, etc. Sounds like a natural break point for this GB!

Jason, I may have mis-typed...I've got the Fine Molds A5M2 Claude (Type 96 Carrier Fighter). I've built the Hasegawa Ki-27 as well...very nice, especially for an older kit. I wish Hasegawa made some of the more obscure bombers (like the Peggy, etc,) in 1/48. There were some neat lesser known old IJA and IJN planes from WWII.

Charles the A5M is absolutely acceptable so I'll put you down for it.

Hey Carlos how about some more photos of the Serian. It was looking very nice when we saw it last, has a lot been done since then?
