Ok as promised here are a couple WIP pictures. This kit did end up taking a bit more filler and sanding than I thought it would. Hope I can measure up to the fine paint jobs I have been seeing in this group.
Still this isnt a bad kit at all I have built much worse.
Randy So many to build.......So little time
Thanks Dave, glad you like it. Thanks for looking
gspatton44, RLM66 is the correct colour, however some manufactures will vary, if you feel it's a little dark maybe add a drop or two of white. I think my Gunze RLM66 was on the pale side but it did make getting the details pop out much easier.
Cheers...
Mike
Quick question for everybody. What color are you guys using for your cockpits. I started using RLM 66 Shwarzgrau but it is initially looking a little dark to me but in all the references I have it looks like a darker shade of grey than RLM02. Any advice would be appreciated.

Well done Mike!!! I love the unusual camo and like everyone else has stated the finish is superb!
Dave
Steve, Jeremy and Karl, thank you for looking, I'm glad you liked it.
Randy, well done on 1000 posts . Sure is a long way off for me . Post your WIP soon wont you.
Mike, stunning job on your 262.
The finish is spot on.

CONGRATS ON 1000 POSTS RANDY!!!
Thank you sir It took a lot of modeling and typing to get to where I am today.
I would like to thank Daywalker for the GREAT party [<:o) ]and my Mother and..............
Well done Mike! She's definitely one of my favorites.
Jeremy
Spike, really great looking bird and the finish is fantastic. I really like the unusuall paint jobs. Great job
Steve
Mucker, thanks for the kind words, I'm pleased you like the finish as I do try to create a little light and shade when I paint my builds, I hope I'm getting better but it's good fun anyway. I use Vallejo Matt from a rattle can for my flat finish, I've used it on all my builds so far and I really like it. It has a slight sheen but maybe I just don't shake it enough!
Jason, thanks very much for the comments. I had to refer to the instructions and it says the weapons are W.Gr21 air to air rockets. Also I forgot to mention this aircraft was flown by Major Rudolf Sinner of JG7 in March 1944, though I expect his didn't have a wobbly stripe
Frank and Mobious, I really appreciate your comments, I always enjoy your work so it's a pleasure to have you enjoy mine, thanks.
Spike, That's an awesome looking 262. Very nice finish. Two thumbs up!
Daywalker, Looking forward to starting the RDIII.

AGREED!!! Mike, that is some spectacular work on your Schwalbe! Paint is so smooth, WOW! I love it, everything about it is just right. Well done!
Glad to see so much interest in RD3, I can hardly wait myself! Interesting ideas on the -110, sadly one aircraft I do not have in my collection. May have to go get myself one now! Thanks a lot...
Mike (Spike) Great finish on the 262! The camoflage scheme turned out perfect! Im like that as where I don't see all the good points on my builds, just the minor flaws. In a way its striveing for perfection yet that 1% that could of been better can be rounded up to 100% Enter it in a contest as im sure it will do well in its catergory.
One Q:
On my 262 there are two drop tanks mounted by the front landing gear, what sort of weapon(s) is mounted on your version?
Spike, that's really excellent! The pane line detail really pops out and the flat finish is smooooooth. What did you use for the flat cear?
Steve the Dio idea looks like it's coming along nicely, I like the car very much.
Chaps I've finally managed to take some pictures of my finished 262. It's the Tamiya 1/48 Me262A-1a. Had a few problems with the canopy but that was just me being a dope!
Pictures,
I need to add the forward gear door rod/thingy, it broke early on and I need to make another.
Frank, thanks for letting me be part of this GB, I've enjoyed from start to finish and cant wait for RD3. I will stick around here and watch the great work carry on.
Cheers ....
Dirkpitt I really admire your painting skills, there is no way I could sit down and do all that fine hand painting, do to the fact that I dont have enough hair left to pull out to rid myself of frustration. Camo is looking really good Sir.
Daywalker put me down for a 1/48 Tamiya FW-190 I think it a D8 but am not sure without checking the box. End of the year end date works well for me.
Sidure your dio idea looks good to me I hope you will post some WIP pictures of it. I want to try doing a dio my own self one day.
I am still making progress on my 262..........slowly though. I will get some pictures up next week sometime after I get the wing glued on and before I prime it. Had to do a bit more filling than I thought I would, but still it isn't a bad kit IMHO.
Get er done Frank, looking forward to your 109.
Im still fiddeling arou nd with my dio idea and here is where I am with it
has somethig changed to photobucket im not aware of. hope you can see the pics
Mike, I think the 110 has a pretty good claim to Reich Defender status, as it was used against the RAF in the early Wilhelmshaven raids, then in the night fighter role from 41 onwards, while fulfilling the Zerstorer function against the USAF in daylight throughout 42,43 & 44. The nighfighter then saw out the end of the war.
Spike190 Frank, your a naughty chap, was your homework always this late? Cheers...

Sometimes, but a dog really did eat it, honest!
Same here Charles! I have been slowly working on the 1/32 Hasegawa ME-109G-14/AS I started for the original RDGB. Hoping to spray some paint at it soon!
The sooner the better, Frank. I'm deep in a 109 mode myself. Just finished the G-6 (Carganico), will start a Tamiya 109E this weekend, and have ordered another two 109G-6's from Academy.
Thunderbolt379 ...Personally, I'm itching to get back to 109s!

LOL, I know how you feel! May have to have another one of those in the near future. Sounds like 6/1/10 would be a good start date for RDIII, running through the year and ending 12/31/10.
Dirk, love the squiggles and the overall lok of your build. Cant wait to see this one finished
Hi Karl,
Interesting point -- the heavy fighters as such had proven a major let down in 1940, but they served as radar nightfighters to a later date, I guess we'd need to check up on what role the 110, 210 and 410 played toward the end to see if they're fully validated as a six-month subject.
Personally, I'm itching to get back to 109s!
Cheers, M/TB379

Dirk, nice job on the paintwork.
Thinking about it, shouldn't RD4 be the Me110?
Very nice, Dirk!! Great job on the camo.
Looking very nice Dirk, I really like the look of those squiggles, must of driven you nuts!!
Cant wait for RD3 Frank, almost done on the Me 262 and will have pics soon.
