Frank are you starting your own little fleet of 1/144 Me 262's in a dibolical scheme to take ove the world?  It is amazing how much detail you can pack into thoses little kits. Nice work.

I put a coat of Future on last night, and added the decals today.  Hope to get another coat of Future on it before bed, then time to add the fiddly bits.  More to come!

Mobious

Karl, The Squadron "Walk Around" of the Me 262 states that White 3 (WN500071) was assigned to 9./JG7. The white bar indicates 3rd gruppe. The unit emblem was not painted on her. Hope that helps.

Mobious

Mob, thanks for that.

In that case Trumpeter forgot the white bar and the werknummer!

Looks like I'm going AM for decals after all.

Thank you guys, that means a lot.  I'm liking it more and more as I look at it.  Hope to spray some Future on her tonight, then decals tomorrow.

Karl- Sounds like Mo has you sorted out on those markings.

Frank, what can I say that hasn't already been said.Awesome and  Inspiring are a couple of comments that come to mind, Really amazing the talent displayed with an airbrush. I struggle with mottling in 1/48 scale and I'm squinting to focus on that.

Frank that paint job looks awesome!!!!!!!! I know I can get small dots with my AB and a very fine demarcation free hand but even so, I don't know if I want to try 144. You have proven to me it is entirely possible. WELL DONE!!!!

Question on Trumps 1/32 262.

Does anyone know what unit White 3 is supposed to be from as there are no details in the box that I can find?

Is it a JG7 or JV44 machine per chance?

Ditto what Karl said. The mottling job would be fantastic in 1/48 scale. It's near-impossible for most of us in 1/144. Top notch once again, Frank.!

Frank, overspray?

I could have covered that entire kit with some of the over spray I've created in the past!Embarrassed

The mottling is top notch in any scale.

Spike, don't worry about helping me get the E100 off the desk, I'll just build a Berg E100 for that.

LOL, thanks Randy!  I did indeed AB the mottling, and I also sprayed everything freehand to see how tight I could get the colors on the wings.  It turned out OK, though next time I will mask the wings.  I also ended up with more over spray on the fuselage from painting the wing than I wanted, but I can live with it.  Thanks again!

I threw some paint at the 262B tonight, and overall I think it turned out OK.  You can see the low-contrast scheme of 82/83 on the upper surfaces.

Mike- I've decided on "Black A", in a 82/83/76 scheme, as I had a closer color match to that one LOL.

Karl- What the "L" is that, a target?  EGADS!  It looks like a beast just sitting there.  Which kit is that, looks like one of those late war German experimentals.

Spike190

Satch, I'm sure Mucker built "Red 13" a little while back, those markings are one of the Tamiya 1/48 262A-1a kit options, I think I have most of the decals but I chopped one of the 13's for something else.

Spike is correct, Satch. The "Red 13" markings came on the production decal sheet for my 1/48 Tamiya kit.

Rather than wade through multiple pages, let me ask the group.  Did anyone build a 262 in Heinz Bar's markings?  If so where did you get them?

Thanks,
