Richie- Right on, OK if I leave the 262 on the roster just in case?

Charles- You got it!  I have you on my list for the 190 GB coming soon.

I took both of my little 262's to our annual show yesterday, and won gold and silver in 1/72 and smaller jets, YAY!  Also took the 109's I built and two Corsairs.  The 109's won gold and silver in 1/48 Axis single prop, and the Corsairs won gold and silver in 1/48 Allied single prop.  The FAA Corsair also won the Best British Aircraft Special Award.  What an exciting day!  Also got to hang out with a couple of fellow forum members and talk shop for a while with Jon Vojtec.

I am heading for Florida today on vacation for this week, and will be back on Friday.  If there are any updates here, I will be certain to get them squared away when I return.  You guys play nice while I am gone!

Frank...count me in on the 190 GB! I have a few kits to choose from and I am in a Luftwaffe funk right now.

I don't think I will be able to get the 262 done before the end of this build mate! But I do have an Academy 190 also, sooooooooooo might get that one in next go round. Never know though, miracles never cease!WinkWhistling

Thanks for the heads up on that faux pas Karl, would have never picked that up otherwise!!! Looks easy enough to remedy though.Toast

 Daywalker:

FW-190D-9's for the upcoming 109 GB!

Huh?????

I have to learn not to post before my coffee (yes, I do have coffee in the evening, the shakey hands help the mottle finishes!) LOL.  Sorry for the confusion, it is in fact a 190 GB that is coming!

And, I added your fast mover to the roster here Richie, welcome aboard! Welcome Sign

Randy- Yessir, a couple of tiny 190's!  I am also on the hunt for the Eduard 1/144 FW-190A.  Didn't realize they are as find to find as hen's teeth!

Randy, thanks for the comments.

Armour builds are what I do to relax from aircraft as I find them easier, generally no interior, no canopy masking, and any *REPORT ME!!* ups you can cover with mud!

Ritchie, is that the 1/72 Airfix 109 G?

If so they got the Beule bulges over the engine deck machine guns all wrong as one long bulge, rather than two separate ones.

Daywalker are you tellin us you have 2 1/144 FW190 builds for the next round ???? You need some serious help there buddy Stick out tongue You do know you will have to do a couple of 51s to chase them with right ?

Randy So many to build.......So little time

Daywalker

FW-190D-9's for the upcoming 109 GB!

Huh?????

Just recently picked up Airfix's new 109G-6 and must say that Airfix is really coming around with their new tooled kits!!! Would possibly do it in Reggia markings as they are included and has a COOL paint scheme.

Oh and Frank, I finally picked up a 262 for my B'day yesterday the 7th. The Academy 1/72 A-1a and am quite impressed!!! Must have about 10+ markings to choose from, and it comes with swastikas YAYYYYY!!!!! picked up the 163 too. So if you can do 190s in a 109 build I will have to round it out with some fast movers lol.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I always find armour builds have a tendency to drag on with the washes, dry brushing, pigments etc.

I had hoped to have this one finished last week so I could start the 262.

Mike, all the paints on this one are Tamiya, mainly IJA colours bizarrely enough!

That is some seriously stunning work Karl, YES!!!  I have a few armor kits in my stash, but have not yet learned the most effective way to weather them, which obviously you know how to do, and do it well!  If I could get mine to look that good, I would most definitely build some of them!

Thanks all for the kind words in the tiny 262's, I had a lot of fun with them!  I even have a pair of 1/144 FW-190D-9's for the upcoming 109 GB!

Although it doesn't fly or isn't equipped with Jumo jet engines, that's some cool armor support for the Trumpy 262 kit. First one ot these I've seen built up and the modern lines can really be seen, Nice work!

Mike, thanks for the encouragement.

I'm still working on that E 100, though at least I'm on the home stretch now.

Decals are on, and I'm on the oil wash!

After I posted I went and sat at the dining table and clipped all the parts off the sprues that I would not be using as my 262 will be all closed up.

The box is now half empty!Surprise

Frank, that is absolutely stunning!

Hats off to you for that finish in any scale.

Just try not to sneeze near those two!

I spent half an hour looking at the destructions for the big Trumpy 262, and seeing as I'll be leaving mine all closed up, the spares box is going to get one hell of a transfusion of new parts!

I had hoped to start this week, but I'm still working on the E100.

Frank another stellar build my friend I just believe you do so very well building those Micro Mini Me 262s. I go cross eyed just looking at your pictures. You must be using a 0000 tip in that airbrush wish my 1/48 builds looked half that good. Bow Down

Thanks everyone!  I think it takes me longer to paint one of these than a typical mottle finish on a 1/48 bird, mostly because you really have to be careful working in such a tight area.  VERY easy to accidentally get a run in the paint (since it is mixed so thin for the tight lines) or have an unacceptable amount of overspray.  Still, they were a lot of fun!

Mike- You got me!  I am a little sensitive about my large hands, makes EVERYTHING look small LOL. Crying

Right on!

I decided to push on and finish it up tonight, except for the pitot which I am having difficulty with.  May elect to ignore it all together.  Here she is, all finished!

Sitting with the A-1a

And just for you Richie! Propeller

Thanks Andrew, much appreciated!  I shall keep my fingers crossed that you get your hands on another 262 then.

Just added most of the fiddly bits, sans the rear exhaust parts (where the stand is mounted).  Planning to give it a final flat coat tonight, and add the rear exhaust pieces then remove the canopy masks.  I added the antenna mast on the lower wing, just need to find a fine enough piece of wire to make the pitot tube from.  Then, it should be done!

Thank you very much fellas, glad you like it so far!  These tiny things are a real PITA when it gets to this point.  Trying to hold onto it without breaking off any fiddly bits while adding MORE fiddly bits...

LOL

Daywalker

I put a coat of Future on last night, and added the decals today.  Hope to get another coat of Future on it before bed, then time to add the fiddly bits.  More to come!

Bow DownBow DownBow Down Woah Frank you have taken 1/144 scale to new levels! Most would be pleased to pull off that finish on a 1/48 scale Me 262! I'm glad I won't be competing against your work in the (902) Canadian area code next month...It gives a novice like me hope for squeaking into some sort of award for effort. High jump was never my thing and you have set the bar out of reach! Anyhow excellent job on the 262YesCool
