I finally sat down and finished my F4U-5N!  It has been drug out so long, so for reminders, it is the RoG release of the Italeri 1/72nd -5 Corsair.  It came with the NF parts, just no ordnance or decals.  No prob there.  Fuse lengthened by 1 cm, True Details seat and wheels, and a QB gunsight.  Not the greatest, but happy with it anyways.

I have finished a total of 3 whole models this year!  Dang I build slow.

Cheers,

Greg

Trey...she came out fantastic. The colors really muted down and blended well in the end. Love it!!!

Looks great Trey!  Sorry it took me so long to update the front page.

The engine detail is a really nice touch.  I used a picture that shows it, on the front page.  Another impressive build for sure.

Cheers,

Greg

Cammo is fini,I used a ref pic for the rt side and went with a mix of the instruction and some geuss work for the top and port surface. Its not 100% accurate I'm sure, but it will do for my level of building.

Excellent job there Trey.  :)

Greg, the Pe3 BIS was used mostly around Moscow during the war according to what I've read about it.  The radar unit was used on Pe2's also but this one was made more as a fighter than a converted bomber.

Greg I thank you kindly Sir !!! You're are way too kind! Hope you get the time to squeeze in some building soon!

Hercmech thanks!

I got the gear sorted and its sitting proper! The flaps are now in place as well. The canopy masking is next and then some painting.

Trey, you are awesome!  The Moskito looks like you shrunk a real one.  I am always amazed at your detail work.  When I was at the Air & Space in DC looking at their He 219, I actually thought, "wow, it is almost as good as something Trey would build!"

NFN, your Pe2 is looking good too.  What an interesting plane.  Do you have any info on it?  Other than the Po2 biplanes, I have never heard much on the Soviets NFs.

Sorry for my absence.  I have just been swallowed up by things here.  I desperately need to get time to paint.  Multiple projectis on hold for that.  I did use clear sprue for the nav lights on the B-57, and finished the flap bays.  Now, they need paint!

Thanks for keeping it rolling guys,

Greg

I've made a little more headway. I decided to reposition the nose wheel in concert with the rudder. I hope it remains strong enough to support the 50+grams of weight I had to add to keep it off its tail.

The canopy fit looks real good, The radar operaror top window shoulders into the wing roots and needed just a tiny bit of ca and some fine filing to get right.

NFN thanks, glad to see you back at it and off to a great looking start. The detail work on the office looks real sharp!

Basic fuse is done

and after finish sanding the seams and rescibing panel lines

The engine is about ready to mount

Fixed the gap on the rudder with some card stock

Nice, nightfigher. I have a different version of that kit, I was thinking of selling it, but now I'll hold off and see the progress of your build. Looking very nice.

Impressive work NFN, not an aircraft I know much about, but I'll learn through your WIP.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Hercmech,Steve thanks!

I've made some progress on the Moskito, first I had to resize the cannon ports the hole were way out of scale. Next to go were the molded cannon barrels,Ill scratch some new ones to add in the finishing stages .

Next up I had to cut the port nacelle up for the resin mill

Test fit of the wings after removing the warps in both,so far the only big glitch I've run into

Then on to the resin flaps which needed to be trimmed to fit the curves along the bottom nacelle

The gear bays will be detailed next, cheers Trey

The kit looks really nice and a few test fits are promising. I've opted for some resin upgrades so molded interior details on the fuse must go. The Verlinden resin is very detailed and cast nice,no voids or bubbles
