Hmm, some of them show copper between the cooling fins. Alot of the toy ones look like theyre based on an old mauser pistol?

How about an ammo clip added to the side?

On another note, today when I got home from buying my wife a new washing machine, what was waiting for me but TWO boxes!  The first one was my order from Squadron and the other box was from Santa.  My daughter promptly took that one upstairs to hide from me till Christmas morning {she is taking this a little to seriously}  Oh well, at least I can start making plans for the F-16A/C with the "111FS/147th FG P-26 Commemorative decals"; or get overwelmed by the Tornado Tigermeet "Eye of the Tiger" kit.

Just got my gift today!  Nestled quitely under the tree.  Admittedly I did have to resist the urge to open right away. But  alas, my "Oldie but Goodie" as my Secret Santa put it, will have to wait until Saturday.  Thanks!

I have not heard from two individuals if they have not received their gift yet {Dennis & Mike}.  There is a third one that unfortunately will receive his gift late {Andrew}.

Mike - just don't tell us what you open up {unless it goes bang} until Christmas Day.

Safe travels to everyone who will be driving-flying-training somewhere this week.

Mkay, first you set up something online like an account with Flickr or Photobucket.  These are websites that let you upload and store/display whatever pictures you want for free (within limits.  ie. flickr has a monthly upload maximum). When you get your pics (like group badges) uploaded there, right click and select "copy image location".  You may have to fiddle with different viewing settings to get a page that'll let you do that. When you do, the clipboard should have the URL to your picture ready to paste.

Next  go to the signature section of your profile on FSM.  Click the film strip button (insert media) and simply paste that location into the box that pops up.  That spot in your profile signature will now link to the picture (your badge).  You can even click and drag the corners of that little picture to resize it to your tastes.

Man...somebody's got to do a sticky tutorial thingie for the forum so people know how to do this stuff.

Badges? Badges? I don't need no steenking badges!  I guess I shoulda went to geek school when I had the chance instead of sitting in my room building stupid mpdels. It's probably something incredibly simple, but I just don't get it. I have an account with photobucket, have uploaded the badges I need, have copied then pasted them into my signature and even found a way to re-size them. But when I check--still nothing. So, before I smash this freakin' computer into tiny bits and use the wires for something useful like brake lines for my 1/48 Sabre, I'm just gonna give up. I think I need a beer to calm me down now. Bang Head

on photobucket, the thing you need to copy is the "Direct Link" code.  Then past it into the URL of your photo when you set up your signature.

Yeah, if you select 'copy image' instead of 'copy image location' and paste that into the signature, it won't stick.  This'd probably be WAY easier for people if only FMS would take on the storage responsibilities for users' badges.  I know that sort of thing can get out of hand, but YEESH.  Could a moderator at least 'sticky' a tutorial on this subject to the top of an appropriate forum section?

Well I was rather pleased this AM when I opened up my Secret Santa Present.  I may have to wait to build it a bit though.  It's going to be really big and I don't have a space to work on it or display it right now.

Thanks Santa!

Yeh, I have never built one of these before, so it should be fun.  It will make a nice companion for my HE111 once it's done, and I get to the HE111.   LOL

Your Welcome! It was the most "non-american" aircraft I could find at the hobby shops around here without spending a lot. How did you like the wrapping paper? Went to the aviation museum to get it.
