Just received my resin Martin-Baker for the 1/48 RN Sea Harrier. Not a bad upgrade for $6.

I shot the underside with light blue. The usual recommendation is Hu 65 which is also RLM65 Hellblau. I put a coat on and it was way too aqua. So i mixed some 65 with "Duck Egg Blue", shot that on. Then I came back with pure DEB and highlighted the middle of the biggest panels. I'm pleased with the results. Next, start the topside with Hu 121 tan.

Azorean, please humor this ignorant question. That's the Otter? I really like what you are doing. What manufacturer is your model?

Great update Bondoman

Recently i see a commemorative box of airfix about falkland war with 4 or 5 kits in, included the pucara, someone know the quality of it? (pucara only)

just added the hud on the sue, so i can glue the front canopy to start last passages to finish it

just need to add on the upper canopy frame a little intsrument (probably a compass) and i'll glue it.

Hey gang, sorry for the absence, the office has taken on a whole new level of ridiculousness. (I've spent more time updating my resume than at the bench lately No) Anyway, I've only got a couple minutes to duck in here this morning as well.

bondsman - the Pucara looking good, can't wait to get mine out, but I have other kits to finish up first. I hear ya with the rain, I can count on one hand the number of sunny days I've had in the past month on the east coast. I think I'm getting moldy…

azorean - the "office" complete & fuselage halves sealed up, keep on going buddy! What is the "cargo" in the back?

bsyamato - SUE is looking good, I didn't notice before, you are hand-brushing all of your kits? Multiple coats of thin Humbrol enamels….

Moober - yep, that resin seat looks slightly better than the original! Wink

I can't argue against "one less thing to worry about"! I went 15 years+ without one. I was debating on whether I should get one or not, then the owner of the company I was working at walked into the office with a little cash bonus for everyone. I decided "the company is buying me an airbrush" and went for it! I still don't use it as much as others, but it comes in quite handy sometimes.

never used one for 20 years.... i know need one especially for blurry mixing of camo or just better priming. With my corsair i needed lots of layer to simulate blurry without one

Yes a simple airbrush is a must Sad

I couldn't model without my airbrush now. Even for simple one colour schemes and interious. I just find it so much easier than brush painting.

But, as your Corsair shows, you can still get good results without one. Nice job.

bsyamato: could you also get that feathered edge by applying a paper mask that is raised from the model by a roll of tape, then spraying with a rattle can?

Don't want to rush anyone, but i should point out that this GB ends one year from today.

Today is the 29th anniversary of the end of the conflict. A good time to take a moment to remember the dead from both sides.

Hi there guys!

Finally some progress on my project, not very much but it´s a start LOL

Here are the pictures of the resin Neomega interior.

It isn´t that good like an Aires interior, but there are a BIG diference with the interior you get out of the box.

I also have opened some panels, I still have to add more detail into it but the idea is to make something simple to improve the kit a little.

The upper and lower halves are not gluing together here, it´s just to show the avionics compartments.

And finally I glued the fuselag and wings. The fit is horrible, you have to fill large gaps (I don´t think that making a kit using upper and lower parts for th fuselag is a good idea...) and the fit of the resin parts was worse!

I don´t have much time to model thi days but I think that in2 or 3 weeks maybe the model will be ready to paint.

Well that´s all for now.

bst regards

Jere

ps. O.O.T. but this is the other projct I´m working now, a F-86 Sabre with a special scheme that th Argentine Air Force acrobatic team used in the early ´60s. This i the first time I use aluminium foil in a NMF plane, it´s very dificult for me (I think I foil each panel about 3 or 4 times!) but the results are impresive! Lucily the most dificult to foil parts of the plane such as the nose, wingtips and tail are painted LOL

Lovely work there jere. That cockpit looks very nice, and a nice job on the panels as well.

SPOOK's, i did have a nice long reply prepared last night, but then i lost connection before i could post it. But this is a very emotive subject especially for the Islanders and Argentinians. So it is probably left for another forum.

But i will say this on the actions of the Falklanders. They should remember that those falimies who visited the Islands were remembering sons, many of whom were conscripts, who were just doing there duty for their country. And like all soldiers are just the porn's of politicians. And they should treat the families with respect.

good progress El_Jere , can ask you a favour? Can take a more close view of the lateral ejection seat and rear cockpit bulkhead?

--

I have a 3 kit box from italeri about 50 years of "frecce tricolori" included the sabre (i think was the dehavilland canada version) .

Actually too busy on lots of projects but an acrobatic team GB was a good thing.

some update on the sue (sorry lately i'm a little in slow motion)

Insane idea to drill the canopy but worked:

to put one intruments on the upper frame

i tried to do the hole with the litter drill i have, but faif, then i heated a needle with fire and with lots of caution did the hole and after drilled with right tip

other works started on the front gear

removed mold seams , shaped some detail and will scratch the rear retraction compass (the original is actually too short as i did the full well)
