Here's one of the draw backs about these Italeri kits that i forgot about ..............these  sink holes in the breech block .......Crying..........and many other parts as well . I'll  sand off all of the detail , fill the sink holes and build the detail back from scratch .

Yes, and pin marks that are absent on the newer kits today. Italeri usually needs a bit more putty all around as well. In the end, you get a decent interpretation.

Here's where it ended for tonight . I sanded all of the detail off , filled the sink holes with c.a. and after more sanding rebuilt the detail with styrene .

Nice save Carl. A lot of TLC.

Well the yard owns me this week and I might get some model work done today, but again, week off, so off to the yard I go. I have to take advantage of the weather while I can. Yesterday we had pea-sized hail that covered the entire ground white. Surreal.

I think I'd much rather paint. At least you feel as though you accomplished something. I do the yard and a week later, back out in the yard. Never ending cycle. Angry

Mine has been exceptionally mossy this year. I just got it de-thatched and aerated.

Did that too to kill it. I have some Scott's turf builder with moss killer to apply tomorrow before it rains.

Well Nate, good to see someone else still plugging away. I'm hoping to get a base coat on the upper half of the Jagdtiger on Sunday, just to say I did something this week. LOL

2 days left of my vacation and no modeling done. Grrrr.......

I'm feeling the mojo and I dry-fit, what I have completed, so far.

I'm psyched, it's almost time to get the camo on:

Great progress Eric. Loving that big gun. I'm just amazed at people whom can paint the wheels already mounted. I can't see how you can get all the rubber painted, especially on inner wheels.

Eric & Terry -Thanks

I'm not that good...  Sad

The Roadies are just slid on, not glued yet. They will be painted individually (yes I know, no one will be able to see the back ones but I know they're there) Stick out tongue

Looking good Shellback! I need that holder, that you have, would make it go easier for sure.

My progress, thus far today, everything disassembled..small parts, added to the hull and some paint!!:

Taps88: Your Emil is looking great! I've got that kit in the stash too, and I'll have to move it up the list of "to do's"!

Shellback: the gun is looking very good.

I was able to do some painting on my Marder today, but I don't have any pics just yet. I primed the tracks, and painted the rubber section of the roadwheels. I also started painting the crew members. Hope to get some pics up soon.

Thanks Nate. I've had this kit hanging around for a while..just needed an excuse to start it!

Well..... the road wheels are done!

The simplest method, I've come across, is to put them on the end of wooden skewers, and roll them while airbrushing. I then put them in a simple piece of foam, for drying. The skewers work perfectly for 1/35 scale, nice and snug and you can airbrush all sides.

There ya' have it..a beautiful Rodie bouquet  Stick out tongue

Great progress Eric and Carl.

The rain has come back, so perhaps I can get a bit of paint on today.  Problem is I'm watching the Masters, and it's getting good.

Hey guys how's things ? Thanks again . Nice progress Taps (Eric ?) . Thats how i paint the road wheels also , good method .

I picked up that holder at Harbor Freight for about $3 . It came with a magnifying lense also .....i put heat shrink over the aligator clip teeth to stop any damage .......its made cheaply .

Not going to get much done for a while ...a new addition to the family in the way of a puppy .You all know what that involves .

Great name isn't it? LOL There used to be 4-5 Eric's that were constantly involved in the armor forums. Maybe 3 now?

Well, I whimped out. The weather got icky and my motivation sunk with it. Anyone know how many links per side on the Jagdtiger? The directions really don't say. Angry

Well I screwed up exactly what I thought I would. On the cleaning rods or whatever they're called, it asked you to drill holes to thread the metal wire. Yeah, that went over well. There is not enough plastic to bore through to fit the wire, so of course I broke the corners. Angry That is all i really had to do before the tracks and painting. Not happy, not happy at all.

If anyone has a broken King Tiger with some extra ones, I'd be most obliged.

Eric: You're in luck, I have that kit, and don't plan on finishing it any time soon so, if you want to PM me with the part you need, and your info, I'll send it out asap.

Here's a few pics of were I'm at with my Marder. Eventually, it will sport a worn white-washed finish. I am planning on using Tamiya's weathering powders for the white-wash finish. By the way, I am no expert figure painter by any means, but they do look ok from 2 feet away!Wink Comments welcome.

Getting good? That had to be the best Masters I've ever seen...watching for the last 25 years or so (right about when Jack won in '86). Aside from some memorable individual performances, I've never seen an entire field play that well. Wow. My bench is right in front of the tv - got NOTHING done!

Wrapping up an FV107 Scimitar, then the Sturer - plus the bucketload of AM - are next on the block!

Pre-pic to come.
