There have been a few thrown out there

  • Stalingrad
  • North Africa
  • Italian Campaign
  • Afrika Korps
  • Battle of France (just came up with that one)

I'm leaning towards.................stay tuned. Wink

All excellent themes Eric...only one that I'm not terribly excited about but I'd probably grab some decals for a kit in the stash or a different kit anyway.  I have kits in the stash for all but one theme and I have ideas for inexpensive kits for all of them.

Looking forward to your final decision.

I might add more. I think for now I will delete one.

  • Stalingrad
  • North Africa
  • Italian Campaign
  • Battle of France

I did some digging and seems the previous Stalingrad GB never really got going. That is the one I'm eh on. I don't really have anything for that build except my new Pz III and I don't really want to build it yet.

It's getting suspenseful now. Stay tuned.

Eric-I think I know the answer, but I just wanted to be 100% sure....The Battle of France is the first one, not the one starting June 6, 1944, right?

Or June 5th, 1940... Invasion of France?  Almost exact four years later the Allies have landed at Normandy...

Now you got me all excited... if it's France GB, I can get to build one of my Panthers kits finally as it is my favorite German tank.

Eric, what are taking you so long?!?!?  Kidding, take your time... we still have few months to decide.

Yes Bob, you're correct. I was thinking May 10th 1940 myself. Early war panzers, or in my case a Hotchkiss 39. I also have a Panzerjager I, but that is screaming North Africa to me.

Sorry to be taking so long Andy. I'm just a little perplexed right now. I'm thinking of deleting another idea, though I think it might be cool, I have nothing that really works for it, unless I can get my hands on what I'd like to do.

So, we are left with these 3 now, and if anyone has any others.....feel free to have a say.

  • Stalingrad
  • North Africa
  • France 1940

Battle of the Bulge?  Might be a chance to paint something OD for a change.....

It looks as though one might have been done Bob, for there was some chatter, but that was many years ago. So, we'll add that one.

  • Stalingrad
  • North Africa
  • France
  • Battle of the Bulge

The only about the BoB GB is that I'm not ready to do winter washes myself.

I kinda of liked the idea of "Tough Old Gut" GB Italy 43-45, but am unsure what would really qualify. There would be Brit and American stuff too.

I will probably submit our ideas to the armor forum and maybe the flyboys too to gauge interest.

Eric-fwiw, most of the pics of the German armor @ the BoB didn't have whitewash and neither did a lot of the allied armor-seems to be a mix of winter wash and standard camo (or OD).

"Tough Old Gut" would be fun too.

I'll be interested to see what the flyboys and armor regulars have to say.

I can't wait to see what the final decision is.....

It's good to know that Bob. I certainly have enough German armor to qualify for it. LOL It would be tough to narrow it down.

We'll put it to a vote. Thanks for the suggestion.

TM - The Tiger is looking fabulous!  I'm with Carl, you had me wondering on your camo ability, but dont think you could get any better then what you have acheived.  Love it!

As for another GB, the French invasion sounds intresting.

Yeah it kind of does. I'm a little tired of tri-color camo myself.

Finished!!! I'm going to post over in the armor forum just to prove to everyone that I do indeed build. LOL

I just want to thank everyone for being so great and supportive during a difficult time in my life. I've really enjoyed the comradry of this GB. Great group of guys.

BTW, I'm taking the badge anyways..........since I was under a little duress. Wink

I might reshoot these, they didn't turn out as well as I hoped.

Eric - the Jagdtiger looks great! YesYes Perfect camo and shading, the weathering came out fantastic!  I love it!  I bet it will look amazing next to your other completed builds on the shelf!

BTW, the Jagdtiger was the largest of the Panzerjagers.  What was the smallest?  Hetzer or Panzerjager I?

It would be cool to see your JT sitting next to my little Hetzer just to see the size difference!

Now lets get another GB started soon!

I'd say the Panzerjager I or One of those French Marders that the Germans made. I believe the Lorraine was an ammo transport or something like that. Probably smaller then a Pz 38t.

Thanks again for the kind words Ernest.

To whom are still working, come on, you can still get her done.

Eric- WOW!  Beautiful work on that JT.  I have one in stash from Tamiya and I want to build it soon!  This is my favorite shot...

I agree with the guys despite the fact I didn't sign up for this GB but I had great times following everybody's work.  I am now more careful not to sign up for too many GBs and I am in two right now so just let us know when you are going to do it again.

Safe to say my build for your GB will not involve any camo schemes!!!  LOL

Thanks for tagging along Andy. I feel like a voyeur in the Pz III GB. LOL

Hope you can make the next GB, but you do seem quite busy.

Nah, not too busy I will be able to sign up if you can start your GB in the fall and allow it to run for six months.  I am expected to finish my build for Ostfront GB in few weeks leaving me just one GB to lead which is Panzer III for a full year.  So I will be able to sneak in an extra build...

Was thinking... if we are going for the France GB, I can build Tamiya B1 bis kit I have in my stash.  Oh no, it has camo!?!?!? Tongue Tied  Just let us know when the GB feeler is out.

Pretty soon and it will probably be in October or maybe November. I'd like to get my Pz IV finsihed first. I need to reshoot the squiggly camo that I fubarred the first time. Dreaded tri-camo. Big Smile

A Battle of France is intriquing me. Single color camo! It's a thought.

Eric-if you go with the Battle of France theme, would it be open to aircraft?
