Perfect work on the holes, yes you can just leave it painted black but final result was not the same

Really nice job on the Gannett Yamato!!!!IAnd Kermit the sub will be fantastic.Man you must be  a sucker for punishment  opening all those drainsLOL.It will be time well spent though.I am still waiting patiently for my Belcher Bits decals for the stoof.I am having knee surgery in 3 weeks so I will have lotsa time for building so stay tuned for Firefly.

Bsyamato the only reason I can tell I am sorry to use a quote is that I cant say it any better than Kermit T Frog has already said. Your build is a work of art and envy. I totally enjoined following your build and learned a few things along the way.

Kermit you truly are a building machine man !!! I always like following your sub builds. I can see where drilling out the flood ports is very much worth the effort, it really does make a huge difference in the finished model.

Yes opening em up was kind of an on the go decision but it looks great now that im done. And regarding the decks i have been asking a question on a uboat related website forum and these people were kind enough to show me pictures of the real U-201. The camouflage did not run across the decks so i am going to paint that in the standard colours.

Oh and i am just starting painting and weather her. Last night i started with a black wash to darken the deck detail prior to drybrushing and weathering it.

Well I found nice replacement resin late wheels from Barracudacast and also a real cool cockpit placard decal kit for my Tamiya 1/32 Mustang.....cool cool

I'm sorry I haven't been to post pics lately. My camera died and I had to get a new one. Anyway here are the latest pics.

Nice looking Gato GT!!That thing is huge!!!!

I got all my resin bits for the Firefly prepped and painted green,I will post pics when detailed.The AZ kit has lots of raised goopy plastic in much of recessed panel lines and pretty poor mold voids and distortions.This is my first ltd run kit from Czech and I guess it is to be expected.Moldings not nearly as nice as my Czech Model 1/48 Goose though(on the shelf).

Decals for Stoof are on the way!!!!

no updates about the seabat ,but finally a little moment of sun allow better pictures

De Havilland: Incredible pit and IP. From the detail you put into it, one would think that it was a 1/24 scale craft. You must have a great set of eyes and a steady hand!

actual wips are scattered between gb's actually involved, single wips are stopped for now  .Don't expect the same details of gannet

The cockpit and wheel wells are resin bits that come with the kit Yamato.

They are really nice castings and fit quite well together.

Well back to the workbench,i am closing fuselage and hopefully wings to fuse today and will post updates if that happens

Now that I have most of the tiniest parts put together. It will be soon be christened U.S.S Cobia S. S. 245 and after the shakedown cruise, it will be off to the sea of Japan to join in the hunt for Japanese shipping.

Bsyamato oh man those natural light pictures really do make all the extra work and details pop out at ya !! Love it !!!!!!!!!!!!! I really like pictures 7 and 8. And you do have a very nice shelf of models goin there too.

De havilland beautiful pit and, radio compartment man How did you get all that detail to looks so good in that small a scale ? Cant wait to see more from you.

Gotta get my 2 little subs and destroyer out and start building them. Now where is that microscope I ordered.  I have been able to find 1/700 colored PE US Navy figures, but does anyone here know if they make German Navy figures in 1/700 PE ? I have to have figures for what I have in mind for the build.

Well I just finished fitting the canopies and blending them in.The rear glass did not fit well so i faired it in with putty and stuff.

Probably painting by the weekend so I will post once there is something to see.

Dunno about german 1/700 figures , i think is symple to paint these microscopic usn figures with german paint . don't think in this scale had some great differences on uniforms waiting to see wips 

de Havilland: Nice work so far. There is one of those in Hamilton- and on my list to fly in.

Here is an update. Progress has been slooooow. On the port side, I replaced all the weld seams and many of the rivets. Added most of the hull PE. I also textured the pressure hull casing using a dremel bur and lots of sanding. I'll replace the welds on the saddle tank when I extend the tank past the central drainage slot, which will be when I put the hull together. I have started on the starboard side, and oddly enough, only have to replace a few rivets- I was much more careful on this side.

i can advice you to being organize the photobucket profile now that you have few photos before you ges a big mess as mine  

Except for gluing the deck together, all the parts are put together, Now I will finish it off by painting the touch ups and I'll be done.
