Opening the flood holes is indeed a bit tedious but the result will be very much to your liking, i assure you. I am still very happy with my decision to do so on my own 1/72 sub.

I'd like to join this GB. I will be making a Revell 1/72 VIIc with Eduard and Ensign models PE, and CMK command and torpedo sections. There will be lots of prep work before I can post anything- I forsee a great deal of time in opening the flood vents and oil canning the hull, but will post as soon as this prep work is done.

probably i foud a solution for tail seating but i not speak about till i try

I'm not scared to scratch build. On my first kit back into the hobby (MV-22 Osprey) I scratch built the cargo interior roof and dropped the flaps. I'm pretty happy with the way they came out. I'll do more in the future i'm sure.

it's a pleasure kermit  that's was my first gb and really fun to join us

As Stik says is too fun to place more details on a kind , the only fear working with stirene is the major percentage for cutting fingers

On armor i started a jagdphanter but my armour count is really low, as ships i'll take a look on your work.

Kermit, there is nothign to fear from doing your own add own detail from stip, sheet, rod, and tube styrene. It's really kinda fun to see what you can come up with to correct or fill a kit's empty spaces. And it oftne turns out to be a simple task.

I did make some progress yesterday on my U-Boats and USS Ramsey. The U's recieved full primer coats and the Ramsey had her PE areas primered. I may get some more painting work done today weather permitting. But then all work is gonna shut down for a couple weeks due to an upcoming change of residence.

Excellent scratching, as always sir!

You inspire me to do more with plastic card myself. The german "Hetzer" tank destroyer i am building over at the armor section and the diorama it is going to be on has more scratchwork in it than i ever done in my entire modelling career. Thank you for sharing your work in my GB here

something about clear parts

to prevent breaking i free the canopies

and have seams in the middle..

so good clear parts need to be sanded

then the engine

pieces for the gearbox oil tank

and i shaped a pastic strip to use as intake fins

and only two are perpendicular ! even easier his plane

test fitting with oil tank that need some refine

that's all, after the spain f1 gp i'll come again in my bunker

Medic the viking sprues seems really good! 

finally some gannet updates, this weekend try to close the fuselage, i must!

i need to conclude an agreement with humbrol for the matt black fortunately have another two cans

Started the main well detailing, then erased previous details

Too busy at how to put real details on.. i realyzed that i erased even main gear slots x2

then finally all seat belts are on

on other side, i did some practice as how to scratch a tube with inner fins in a sci-fi kit

now i have the power to scratch the gannet turbine intakes

If i'll finish the gannet in acceptable time , probably i'll catch a sub to ad in the gb.

i need a submarine!!

Well the Bronco, Hobbyboss, and Revell Germany 1/350 U-Boats are very affordable. The AFV Club ones slightly more expensive... Same goes for AFV Club's I-boats and Gato class Fleet Boats. I am sure all can be built in a weekend.

I finished the build on the Type VIIA this afternoon. Added all the PE railings and upper net cutter...

one weekend, two U-boats built... Now to get them painted....

 Does the Hobby Boss offering come with the PE? Might wanna take a look at that in the future even though i think the stern light housing looks a bit rough/ oversized to my taste...

Thanks Kermit. Yes the Hobbyboss kit does come with complete PE and yes the Revell was quite the delight to build. I was really impressed by the delicacy of the deck guns, railing and even the rivet work on the hull. I think the detailing on the Revell sub is superior to the Hobbyboss in most respects. And for a lower price!

Here is a shot of a real Type VIIA. Is that raised area on the stern deck what you are referring to as oversized? I beleive that is the after torpedo tube. It was moved down between the rudders on the enlarged Type VIIB and C boats.

In any case I am having fun with these little U-Boats and am trying to get all the different variants. I still need a VIIB, a VIIC/41, VIID, IXA, and a IXB... since I can get each one for about $15 here at a LHS this wont be too difficult... I am also comparing the differnt kit makers. Still need to try an AFV Club U-Boat. I have the Bronco IXC.

Well I am gonna add a couple U-Boats myself. I picked up a 1/350 Revell Germany Type VIIC and 1/350 Hobbyboss Type VIIA recently and began construction them early this morning. The RG boat is done and the HB one is near completion. Then its off to the paint shop...

Received my U-Boat kit today, and , well ummmm now am wanderin just what I got myself into this time geeze but this is a tiny kit.

Oh and there are two, thats right 2!! subs in this kit, the VIIC and IXC. Oh and there's more there is a sinking merchant ship also. So Mr. Kermit sir, with the Destroyer and the two subs with the sinking merchant ship, would this count as 4 builds for this group ?

Now for the bad news, the instruction sheet in in Japanese not English and so I cant even read the color sheet  

And ya know after this build is finished I think I will start the 1/48 B-29 to relax after this one

As for the colors, you can ask me to translate stuff to tamyia or testors or the likes; uboat colors were pretty much standardised and well documented. Do your subs have decals/ numbers?

Vetteman- I've heard mix reviews on the gear. I found them real cheap at the model show so I had to get them.

Martin- Now that you mention it, i'm not sure. I'm at work right now so i'll have to check tomorrow and get back to you on that.

Just took a quick peek at my online shops and a two minute search already revealed stuff by Hobbyboss and Tamyia in that scale. But i am not sure if your collection of tweezers would be small enough. Next pic is a type VIIC in 1:350. So your subs would be half the size:
