Thanks p38! Its actually the Iowa Hawkeyes logo. My sister and her husband are big Hawk fans, so this is gonna be their anniversary present. This Football season will be interesting in the family, because the Nebraska Huskers joined the Big 10 (Iowa's conference) so our teams are now big rivals! 

That is coming out soooo sweet.  The simple Yellow and Black really make it stand out!  Great work!

I've gotten the main assemblies put together on the Warthog. With all the raised detail on this plane, I have to take care not to ruin it when sanding seams. A fair amount of putty was required, too. That's the red stuff you see.

Ran out of yellow paint, hopefully will be able to pick some up this weekend and clean up the overspray on the bottom of the Bf109 soonish.

Hey rich, Ive got a 32nd scale F-5E tiger i was going to do in RNZAF markings, and i kept looking at the RNZAF aircraft through history and im thinking of doing a wild paint scheme on it. Possibly a tigermeet aircraft in RNZAF style. or paint it up as a spotted kiwi. whatever i do with it the only markings will be RNZAF roundels and a serial number.

One thing im seriously thinking about doing is putting a giant 75sqn logo on the belly.

Green tiki, yellow hammers, red and yellow diamonds.

In the rules you say 50% of the markings should be custom. does one big marking that has more surface area than all the standard markings combined count as more than 50%?

Oh and i forgot to mention, amazing job OWL, you always know how to show us boys up.

CallSignOwl now that IS one wild paint job and , way cool too.  Yeah she does show us guys up all the time and can do wonders on a pit too. I wish my skills could have improved as quickly as yours have Miss Owl, and to your level.

Kudos Owl! Great idea and excellent job on carrying it out. The yellow is certainly eye-catching. One day I'll have to do a F9F Panther in black and gold for my old college team the Ferrum Panthers....

That sounds cool.  Yes, something that big I would consider to fit the rules.  Hey how about doing a tigermeet scheme in blue or some other color? :)

I did think about a tigermeet scheme, my dad has a 72nd F-5 from revel in tigermeet colors which i can use as an example.

I'll be posting pics shortly when the paint drys.  I've got on the drying rack what would appear to be a photo-negative of an F-117.  To start the splinter camo scheme that was experimental with the early P-51s I put down several coats of MM semi-gloss white over the course of this week.  I did add some panel line pre-shading even though most of the finished aircraft will be black.  I wanted a little depth and am debating whether or not to put a filter on after I apply the decals.  I have an awesome skunkworks logo decal that will go on the belly of the Splealth that in my mind is going to look great with the black and white splinters.  Not finished yet but it looks great in my mind.......

I was finally able to get some painting done on the Warthog. I'll be painting this one in a USAAF scheme with a shark mouth. Here is the first color: Olive Drab

Everyone's projects are coming out awesome.  I have a bit more assembly and then it's painting time.

the second coat (neutral grey) has been applied. I did less fading on the bottom figuring it didn't see much sun!

Here's shot #2, straight from the drying rack with the black dazzle camo.  The plan was to have primarily white on one side and black on the other.  I think this does a great job breaking up the outline of the stealth and really has a neat affect on the odd contours and angles.  I have a few touch ups to do but am making progress.

the A-10 is finished! ITs not in as wild markings as DiscoStu's f117, but you don't see A-10s in USAAF colors very often!
