CallSignOWL

thanks for the complements, guys! I like the paint scheme too! Makes me wonder what other planes deserve vintage camo. Geeked

F-18 painted like a hellcat.

F-16 painted like a mustang (NMF with bright tail and nose or OD and Grey)

F-15 painted like a thunderbolt.

EA-6B painted like a piper cub spotter.

Just a few ideas.

Recite the litanies, fire up the Gellar field, a poo storm is coming Hmm

I think that F-16 has been done before, though not in NMF. An NMF f-16 would be awesome though. During an A-10 search , I found a pic of one of the prototypes (i think) that was left in its bare metal. A shiny a-10? Heck yes!!!

Owl: Cool, didn't know Hasegawa did a boxing of the 'George Preddy' blue-nose Virginia Air National Guard F-16. Being from Virginia myself I picked up a set of decals from Two Bobs to do that aircraft. Someday I'll have the time... Huh?

Ok, what I've gotten done so far on the RAF Bf109E:

Dark grey areas on the wing undersides are from where the French (who originally captured the aircraft) painted over the German crosses.

That came out awesome.  I'm still working on the F102.  I just have a couple of high priority builds to complete first.

In the Hangar: 1/48 Hobby Boss F/A-18D RAAF Hornet,

On the Tarmac:  F4U-1D RNZAF Corsair 1/48 Scale.

Cool, thanks! Although I um violated the spirit of the GB- I didn't notice that you wanted 50% or less decals from the box Sad

Still I'm happy to have her done!

Sounds good to me Yes

Thanks folks, this was fun, looking forward to seeing some of the other models come together.

Well, now I need to get my Shark done for Lady Owl's Odd Animal GB and get some work going on my Hollywood GB... gee I need to sign up for less stuff Dead

At least none of them are yellow- remind me not to do anymore models with large amounts of Censored yellow on them- it's worse than white to get good coverage.......

I've got my Stealth 99.8% done, I just have the canopy mocking me. I haven't got around to painting the two struts that hold up the canopy. Once that is done and the canopy nestled in place my Bedazzled Stealth will be ready to show. I used a mix of Twobobs and Kit decals, I was pretty happy with the results.

Finally!  I managed  to get off my duff and finish off the last step of the Stealth.  Here are some pics.  I used a mix of kit decals as well as select ones from Two Bobs "Kosovo Bandits" sheet.  I went with an open bomb bay so I had to take some pics before the doors were glued in place so as not to miss out on thee great artwork on the belly.

Awesome markings!  Great Build.  I have been involved in so many projects that I have been neglecting my poor F102.  I'll get some done by next weekend though.

I took these pictures at a local airshow a few weeks ago. There was a pair of interesting F-18s there!

as well as some "Yellow Wings"

and a little Mustang "wanna-be"

I actually me the Navy Captain that was responsible (in part) for getting those retro paint jobs applied on some of the older planes, at the IPMS National convention this year. He was in interesting guy! We had a fun conversation.

Great photos Owl- thanks for posting them.

The first two F/A-18 photos look like some sort of 'aggressor' scheme maybe?
