Here's where I am. I finished the sled up, except that it needs a little weathering. They were practiced with quite a bit before the actual mission.
The crew have a base coat of rubber, two lighter coats to highlight the wrinkles, and a base coat of dark brown flash. Still a lot of painting to do there.
On December 3, 1941 the MAS raided Alexandria Harbor with three manned torpedoes, attaching mines to the battleship HMS Queen Elizabeth, the cruiser HMS Valiant, the Norwegian tanker Sagona and the destroyer HMS Jervis.
The crew that mined the Valiant was forced to surface and captured where they were interned in the hold! Unable to convince their captors that the ship was mined, they somehow survivved the explosion, but all four ships were sunk and the other two crews captured as well.
