I'm a tad late, but hey, who cares. I would have won the war initially with a Tomahawk in North Africa, shooting down 3 Italian and 1 German aircraft, and then I'd have transfered to defend Malta in my Spitfire Vc... In mid '42 the squadron was converted to IX Spitfire, and myself promoted to Pilot Officer. I would've built a P-40, but because I had a Spitfire IXc lying around, she took the honours... Let the games begin!

Pics are coming.. Got the FW at about 50%.. I had to scratch-build the wheelwells and replace the cannon blast tubes with Styrene-coated wire... Torn on the exact version to do though, whether to continue with the Schlactflieger version, or bomber zerstorer...

She still needs a bit of puyyt-work, but sh'e comong along nicely...

I scratch-built the wheelwells using strip and sheet styrene, the sheet being from a "For Sale" sign I picked up at the hardware store.  It's WAY cheaper than Evergreen..

Don't sweat the dots in the pne bay., I was toying with the idea of just drawing them in, rather than drilling, but they'd look phony...

I also hollowed out the gun's blast-tubes, but they don't look right either, so I'm cutting them out and running styrene-coated wire though the wings and the wheel-well...  I might have to check my refs to see how many guns the Fw190A-5 had in the wings, with the twin twin gun-pods slung under them, since it's a Bomberzerstorer...

Thanks, Goose.. I had to add some stretched sprue to the Fw's wing/fuselage joints, but all is well with that...

Here's Pietro and Paolo. Ready to go sink HMS Queen Elizabeth.

Italeri 1/35 Siluro Lenta Corsa "Maiale" (pig). The Decima Flottiglia had some brio.

I just love this kit. It was the most expensive cigar I've ever bought at $ 45.00, but what a fun build so far.

The booklets that Italeri now include are really well done, and the PE, clear styrene and detailed castings really make it.
