Carl- Have fun at the football game.  I am taking my boys to state champion football game too as our local high school is playing for the title.  It will be held at Colts' stadium The Lucas.

Bill- Sorry about today... I will have better luck tomorrow and Friday to call you.

Guys- Finally an update... not really on my StuG but my figures.  You know I like to include figures...

Only base coat of paint and darker coat have been applied.  Lighter coat will be next...

Flesh work... skin base then darker coat around eyes, nose, and mouth, etc.  Still long way to go... just wanted to say how impressed I am with the facial expressions.  Well done Dragon! Yes

More to come!

Not sure why the badge issue was occuring. I've tried a number of different solutions to no avail.

And, I don't want to keep beeching about it,,,  although it does pss me off.    I am no computer whiz, but I always thought I could hold my own with programs, etc.

In any event,,,   Carl, thanks,         I just copied and pasted right to my profile..  bingo

Enjoy the ride!

Stik- Your Panzer is looking real good! Like Bill. I always liked German Grey. Big Smile  Bet you are planning to spend alot of time modeling over the long weekend?

Thanks... it has a ways to go and I hope i can get it to look half as great as Shell's. I like Gray Panzers myself. Simple and effective.

I think I can get in two good days at the work table,,, Friday and Sunday, with a little time squeezed in on Thursday... Saturday I am going to the UCLA/USC game so no building that day...

Well Rob i wasnt thinking of it being lit when painted it but i see yours and Andy's point . It is a bit over the top imo . What with the rest of the vehicle being all weathered and dusty this thing looks like someone on the crew just spit shinned it up (bet you did enough of that ) . I'll weather it up tomorrow and post a new pic . Yes

Missed that question Carl but Andy had you covered.  Don't think you should get much criticism though because thats correct.  Think of a Christmas light, very dull dark blue when off and the color you now have when on.

Carl- Found a good picture.  For some reason it was not easy locating late convoy light.  There were plenty of early type but not the late because most of them were broken.

I think you hit the nail on the head this time.  Guys will probably criticize you about this and you can show them the picture.  Or tone down with burnt umber.

Carl- I think it looks great!  Maybe too blue... I saw an actual picture of the convoy light when I googled last night.  Let me see if I can find it.  It would have looked like that if it was "ON".

Bill- Looking forward to your PM.

Ben- Good to have you stopping by!  You are always welcome to come here.  I have been following your work on the Tiger.  I am going to my LHS tomorrow to see if they still have any Tamiya Extra Thin left or not.  I wasn't aware that there will be an issue as I assumed it was just about the paint bottles.  Damn our gov't!  Did they really expect us to drink those? Ick!

Hey guys,

I thought I'd drop by to say hi. I'm currently building the Dragon Initial Tiger which will take me well into early 2012 - A great kit but it's going to take some time.

After that I'll be either building that Bronco Comet or my third entry for this GB which is the StuG III C/D I think? Plenty of time but that Comet is looking very appealing and I feel the need for some Brit armour - I've still got that Dragon IC Hybrid Sherman Firefly from last Christmas in the stash but that is a monster kit so will probably be on the bench later on next year.

Anyway, some great builds on here fellas! Andy, your StuG is looking great - perfect pre-shade. I'll be interested in what you do with the paintwork. Stik, your build is looking neat and is bound to be a head turner but I have to say that Shellback's build has it for me so far - stunning!

My little Leningrad Panzer III N is taking pride of place in the cabinet - I love that build, I'll be painting the Leningrad Tiger in the same way so they can sit side-by-side. I'd like to try a hairspray job on her but it's a big risk on an expensive kit. I'll have to do a bit more research.

Finally - Tamiya Extra Thin Cement not on sale? Goddamit! I bumped the Tamiya Rep in my LHS and asked if they could get me some in but he said that the UK wouldn't import it due to labelling not being legal but I didn't know it has been outlawed everywhere. I should be able to source some but it won't be easy when word gets out. I love the stuff for general assembly but particularly for Dragon Magic Tracks. I've got some Model Master Thin Cement but it's nowhere near as good. I'm down to my last half bottle now Tongue Tied

Keep up the good work guys and check out my Tiger in the main section!

All the best,

Ben Toast

Bill- I won't mind giving you a call if you are still struggling with the GB badge.  I liked Carl's suggestion you can post all of your badges here and he can combine them for you.  Animated GB can be cool but sometimes it can be time conusing so I am thinking about switching back to just last three GBs I have participated using a banner just like Carl has created.

Carl- Sending you a Beer for your help with GB badges.

Bill i have an idea . Post your G.B. badges here . I can save them to my p.c. and combine them . Then i'll post that here so you can save it to your p.c. and upload it to your photo bucket account . Just let me know how tall you want them . Mine are 119 pixels tall . If thats ok then i can do yours that tall . Yes

Stik,,,  the III looks good,,,    I always like the pz grey.

I tried a quick couple of tricks with the combo gb badges,,  with limited success. I'll fool around some more and see if I can get it to click.         If not,  no biggie     I'll just post the most recent and keep on moving.......

Enjoy the ride!

That's why I dropped my badges... I was getting the same error message. No room for them and a clever quoteWhistling

Progress resumed on my Mk III. I airbrushed on a base coat of Tamiya German Gray

First answer... about the tail lights.

[linked image]

The tube late convoy light should be blue.  The right one is amber... like red I guess.  I used clear blue and red on my 234/1 a while ago with help from wbill.

Makes sense, yes Carl,,  thanks Pal                         I will see what I can do with that info.........

Yes, Carl is correct.  It happened to me that I couldn't add more than one GB because of the memory limit.  So I used Photobucket to combine two or more GBs.  I think they can only do up to four or five.  I ran out so I used a website for flashing GB like shown below.

Just let us know if you need help, I can give you a call as it is easier to walk you thru Photobucket over phone than email.

Mike- Hey there!  Good to have you back.  No kidding about Tamiya Extra Thin cement?  I use it all the times and I can not buy one of those now???  Hope what I have left will last me long enough.  I guess I would have to use Testor cement fluid in pink bottle.  I can't think of something else and I am not sure if it is too hot or it will make the pins melt.

Carl- I wll go down in a minute to look at the reference books about the lights you were asking about.
