CARL - Great looking track and nice sag you have.  It's amazing they deliver such small newspapers to you, strange.

BILL, CHAZZ - Sorry to hear of the rough weekend and cold nights  Glad to hear that y'all are alright though!  Stay warm.

TOJO - Glad you got power back too and hope things are well!  That is some long boring work cleaning those tracks.  They sure look good and well worth the effort!  Really like the shape you got on the spare track, thats going to look great once on the Pz..  Starting to see a lot of the MB figures lately.  Still don't have a set myself.  They sure look good and I agree, the poses are great and they look to fit on the Pz really well.  Look forward to seeing them with color.

PANZERWAFFE

STIK - I think she is looking really good.  Thats an old Imperial Series kit right?  Those can be a little more challenging but still turn out really good with just a little more work.  I like her.

Yes it is... I looked on the box and it's vintage 1996... from Dragon's first decade. It's not a bad kit by any stretch. The molded detail is beautiful. Just certainly not a shake and bake. Especially the suspension. Aside for two road wheel arms that have attached shock absorbers, the rest of them have no positive alignment pics to make sure the are all properly installed in line. Very fiddly assembly when coupled with their Ramses Dynasty instructions. IIRC, the original Dragon Mk III kits were multi media kits produced by Gunze back in the 80s. Dragon got rid of the multi media aspect and replaced those parts with plastic, except for a small amount of PE.

PANZERWAFFE

"Do i smell hot plastic ?"     Thats not even funny Devil

Oh thats so wrong to say to Shell...:mischievous: Funny... but wrong...:slap: :nono:

Well today saw construction reach the near completion point. All the rest of the fiddly bits and hatches and such were added to the hull front and rear. All that I need to do is add the tracks, and build and attach the fenders and air intakes. I also need to add the MG barrels, but won't until after painting is completed.

Then since the hull construction went well and I was on a roll and didnot feel like the drudgery of track links, I opted to work on the turret. Within an hour or so that was done except for adding the TC's hatches and the recoil assembly of the gun tube.

I left off that part due to two nice prominent ejector pin marks on the front face that needed filling. I applied putty, but won't sand it until tomorrow. Basicly those pin marks are in a visible place that is hard to smooth and cannot be hiden by stowage, weathering, etc... Nice job Dragon...:grumble:

And here are a couple shots with everything built so far in place...

:slomo: and the build goes on....

Guys- Thanks!!!  Glad you liked the figures... that's why I had to add fourth figure.  Going for the kneeling figure shown below since he is carrying the MG tripod.  Sorry no update... having two boys and Halloween kept me busy.

Carl- I think I see a beer keg hidden behind a large bush.  Impressive!  Agree with you... that's why I have to go back there again.  Yes they are from Dragon except for the tank commander.  Now I have to get all of those Dragon "Gen2" figures sets.... they seems to be superior than other sets I have used in the past.

The track on your Pz looks pretty good!!! Yes

Rob- Oh had plenty of beverage that kids can not drink... Beer  I am glad you are just like me... I have to get everything I like!

Bill- Anytime my friend!  I am so glad you could join and hope we can do it again.  Snow in October and no power... this is crazy!  Please do not hesitate to stay at my place if it happens again but you have to bring your stash too.

Chazzer- Glad to see you here again!  After reading your and Bill's comments, I am now determined to get a generator.  My wife and I lived in NC and we had no power for five days after Hurricane Fran but we lived in an apartment complex... my wife has been asking me to get one for years.

Hang in there buddy and I miss your smileys... I am not kidding!

Anthony-  Jeez!  Now I have to get those MB figures.  Its all Carl's fault!  Actually I wanted those but this time I am going to order it from Squadron because they are having huge books sale.  Your figures look real good... I can not tell if they are bigger than Dragon figures.  It would be great if you can place one next to those MB figures.

I am glad you are going to do the figures along with your Panzer.  You know how much I love figures!  Not my figure... it is not the same I had 20 years ago for sure.  MagicTrack look good too! Yes

Stik- Missed your post while I was doing mine.  Your build is looking real good and clean. Yes Yes  You are definitely on roll with this!  I wonder if my StuG is a re-boxed Gunze kit because it is an Imperial kit too?

Thanks DP. It is definitely building easier and far more quickly than I thought it would from looking at the sprues and directions. I am betting that at least the common hull and suspnsion parts are of orignal Gunze parentage, with the version specific parts being Dragon moldings.

Tojo, Stik, Andy,     great work still coming from you, and everybody else too. Thanks for the invite Andy,,,,  I'll be sure to bring the stash+....      Scott, again, glad you're doing well.

I got the scene to the studio and took a few quick shots.       I promised, so here they are,,,  and I also promise I won't post anymore,, ha!

I'll keep checking in to watch the wonderful work you are all putting out.....

There is a little reflective glare (sort of like silvering) within parts of the plastic damn (dammit), but I think I can live with it.....

Fin !

Carl- Camo is looking great!  No kidding... I love using oil for washes.  I use oil paint from W&N with Mona Lisa odorless thinner... they doesn't do any harm to the previous coats of paint.

Can't wait to see the whole thing covered with camo next!  Beer

Well he melted the Panzer I better than any Martian heat ray... there is a resemblence as well...

Well here is my nearly completed turret (only need to add the hatch to the cupola)

The beginnings of the track runs. I did the main bottom runs late last nite and the sprocket areas today..

and everything built so far in place

I am really starting to like this thing. The boxiness reminds of Tiger just a bit...

"W of W" ......one of my favorite old movies .I saw it when was a kid at a drive in theater .........Movie..........must be where my overly active since of smell towards melting plastic came from . Hmm That smell gives me the creeps ...................Dead

Did someone ask to see more of the camoHmm ????

Well i did some more painting on the camo today . I used MM enamel FS34102 for the green and then the next step was to out line the green with a brown color ..........what a airbrushing pain that would be .Sooooooooo , i came up with an easier method . I brushed on a brown chalk to make the border of brown . Then i coated the chalk with a seal coat of lacquer matt , which turned the chalk brown a darker color but it looks close to the color on the box art .

More weathering and painting stuff to come .YesBeer

I dont completely like the looks of the camo but i think it closely represents whats on the box art .

Looks to me like the camo was hand brushed on .
