Malone Duke- Holy cow!  Another beauty completed just in time!  You were not late at all... GB expires in a week or two as I know there are few near completed builds going on including mine.  

I really like the skirts holder on both sides!  Nice work on the dust and dirt around the tracks too! 

Help me remember... this is a Panzerbefehlswagen III but I forgot which variant?  Ausf M or N?  So I can update the roster and add your picture to the Hall of Fame.  

Again thank you for building two great kits for this GB!

Guys- Another update... thanks to Hurricane Isaac as it rained here for two full days.  Had plenty of bench time! 

Applied AK Interactive rust streaks on the Pz III.  

Of course it HAD to happen... need to buy another bottle because I can't live without it. 

Also I applied dark washes using heavily thinned oil paint Raw Umber all over the Panzer... will post pictures when it is completely dry.  

Deaf its a pzbeobwg ausf h  an arty observer. The main gun is wooden. To make room for more radios. Thanks for the comments guys. And thanks detailfreak again for the tracks.  They worked out great.

Guys- Painting for Pz III K is finally complete.  Worked on the antennas as it uses three because its a command tank.  I didn't like the kit pieces so I ordered an upgrade set from Armorscale.

Very nice details at the bottom of antennas.

I will have them glued permanently after applying pigments because I would have knocked them off if I do now.

Good news -- I just got a message from LuckyModel to say they've shipped my Legend StuG III stowage set (and the decals to finally finish my Merkava II that's been in progress since Moses was a lad...)

Awesome!!!  Great to hear about the stowage.  Can't wait to see it because I have been tempted to buy it but I haven't!  I do have few stowage sets from Legend for Pz III, M2 and willy jeep, etc.  Great details!

Ben- LOL! Thanks mate!!!  Glad you managed to order a Tiger I.  I should be able to join the Steel Cats soon since I think I am done with my Pz III except for the antennas and little more pigment work.  Yes, I plan to do a base finally for this.  

Guys- It has been a busy week but managed to find me some bench time.  Update on my Pz III K...

All tools are complete except for the barrel cleaner. Applied Raw Umber then cleaned up with thinner.

Applied Russian Earth and Dark Mud MIG pigments separately. I am thinking about spraying some mud splatters using airbursh next...

Working on the muffler... want to create chipped paint. Painted it with MM Burnt Iron protected by MM Lusterless Flat.

Sprayed AK Heavy Chipping...

AK Dunkelgrau Base 163 highlighted with AK Dunkelgrau High Light 165...

Then chipped the paint off... 

Next I will apply rust and smoke pigments.  Thanks for looking!

Thanks my friend!!!   You can see it is ALMOST completed.  I plan to finish the diorama over the weekend so I can start my Tiger I build.  This time I am not waiting until the very end like I have done in the past. LOL

Yeah, very snazzy Andy. How does the AK Chipping stuff work? Is it like the hairspray deal? Spray on thru the airbrush? I also really like the way your pioneer tool handles came out; wood = excellent, bakelite = excellent.

Hasenpfeffer- Thanks man!  Glad you liked the muffler too.  You will like AK Heavy Chipping product very much if you have done the hairspray technique before.  I find it a lot easier to use than the actual hairspray.  

Poured just small amount of AK Heavy Chipping into my airbrush and it was easy to control the spraying than using the rattle can especially if you are just doing the muffler ONLY.  

Learned a great tip from a guy here at FSM how to paint the wood handles.  I use Model Master enamel wood paint then cover it with lacquer flat.  Then cover the handles with W&N Raw Umber oil paint and leave them to dry overnight.  Use a stiff brush dampened with white spirit to swipe off excessive oil paint.  Do it often until you are satisfied.  Hope this helps?  For bakelite, instead of MM wood I used MM Leather I think... LOL 

Andy -- very interesting re the AK products! I've not read any reviews or tutorials on them, do you have a favourite you could recommend? I just checked and LuckyModel have the range in stock up in Hong Kong, and they're not too steep a price...

Am working on my King Tiger for Steel Cats, plus two others at the moment, one of which is a deadlined magazine feature, it's getting close to done -- then back to the StuH 42, and hopefully the stowage set will have come in by then.

Hey Mike!  Believe me I am now fan of those AK products.  So far I really like those streaking washes especially rust.  It is nice to have two different tones so they will look good than just monotoned streaks.

Update on my panzer... applied more MIG pigments but this time I used airbrush to spray creating mud splatters against the hull and I liked the results. 

Not much left to work on the panzer... paint and add antennas.  Drybrush steel in some area especially the teeth of sprockets.  Then I can work on the base hopefully over the weekend.

Andy, stupendous work, mate -- the realism factor is such I can just about feel the mud squelching under my boots and smell the exhaust! Good as it gets! You make me want to try a diorama base sometime soon!

Good news, the Legend stowage set just came in the mail! Okay, I'm making progress on the feature model, I might have it finished in a few days, and might squeeze in some work on the StuH along the way...

Mike- Thanks!  Glad you like it so far... I was surprised how the mud splattering effect has created and I will not hesitate to do it again on all of my future builds.  Wish I can build a diorama from scratch but with my snail pace of building I am afraid it will take me forever to make one so it was just easier to buy a resin or plaster set and start from there. LOL

Can't wait to see your Legend stowage set.  I have few from Legend too and I will probably buy more...

I am calling my Pz III K done except for just one more little thing I forgot to do last night...

Notice something I forgot?  MIG smoke pigment on the muffler... will fix it. 

Now I will focus on the base to go with the panzer... thanks for looking!
