Okay guys, although it will be a while before I can start this GB, here are the choices (all 1/48):

1)  Hase & Nichimo B5N2 "Kate"  (got two so I could use the torpedo from Nich kit for the Hase kit for Pearl Harbor)

2)  Hase D3A1 "Val"

3)  Nichimo Ki-43 "Oscar"

4)       "         Ki-45 "Nick"

5) Tamiya J2M3 "Raiden"

6)    "         Ki-84 "Frank"

What's your choice?

Science is the pursiut of knowledge, faith is the pursuit of wisdom.  Peace be with you.

On the Tarmac: 1/48 Revell P-38

In the Hanger: A bunch of kits

Sounds good to me. Maybe the rivets are out of scale, I don't know but I like the look of them. I was curious because one of the kits, I don't remember which one now the area the decals go down is devoid of rivets. Just a blank area, so I guess I'll have to figure out some way to put the rivets there so it doesn't look strange.

Gamera

Len: The boxes were a mess, nasty, water damage, one corner of each looks like it was gnawed on by something but the kits look fine. I may need to replace the decals (thankfully I don't think the planes carried anything but hinomaru and numbers so it should be easy) but all the parts seem to be there.

Good luck on finding your own Mavis. I'm looking forward to seeing how your Emily comes together for tips on building mine. Not sure if I want to try to replace the rivets where the decals go or just sand all of them off.

I`m decaling right over those rivets and I`m gonna use solva-set to snug `em down over the rivets. I think there`s one Emily still surviving but I could be wrong. I remember seeing a Jap flying boat on the web and it had a bunch of rivets..lol.

Gamera

Troublemaker: Funny last weekend at our club show I picked up the old Hasegawa 1/72nd H8K2 EMILY and H6K MAVIS for ten bucks a piece. Very happy to find them and thrilled at the price Toast

Good prices for those kits! I got my Emily for around 16-20 bucks, can`t remember. I`ve been looking for a Mavis but had no luck yet.

Ok guys, updating the front page!

Jester: If you want to post your photos here just for show, sure- we can use some inspiration! To enter the GB you have to start within the time frame though. Sorry Sad

I've decided since I have been building in a while I will go with something easy to start.

1/72 Hasegawa Raiden and then 1/72 Hasegawa Jake with catapult

Hiryu would be the Helen.

My Hiryu`s name is Peggy...didn`t say it on the box but did on the instruction sheet.

I`m going to try to build a few kits for this GB. My first will be a Hasegawa H8K2 "Emily" Type2 Flying Boat. This one will be in 1/72 scale...kinda small for me..I usually build in 1/48 scale. I have two other kits in 72...a Hasegawa G3M3 Nell bomber and an old "LS" (?) kit, Mitsubishi Ki-67 "Hiryu" (have to look up the Allied code name). I figured this GB would be a great reason to build my "Jeweler`s scale" kits...lol. Can`t wait to get goin` on `em!

Gamera

Bsyamato: I know what you mean. I have waaaaaaaayyyyyyy too much stuff in my stash but still it's just fun to get something new, rip off the wrapping, and look though all the parts.

Big-Z: Sorry, I thought you meant you wanted to enter one or the other. Oscar and/or Pete both sound great to me.

If you had built the Godzilla figure I'd have expected you to make a chef's hat for him. Wink

...see now I NEED to find a Z kit....that would be great!!!

In all the Japanese monster movies I've seen (watched many) Gamera was close to invincible. I don't think he ever lost or died. Even Godzilla died in one.

That`s one pissed off looking giant turtle....Big Smile

That was after I lost about a dozen PE parts to the carpet monster...

Trey: Certainly, you're in! If you want to do multiple builds like in the Nightfighter GB you're welcome as well.

Big-Z and others: Personally they're both ok by me. I noticed most of the interest was in aircraft but unless someone has a big problem with it I don't see any reason not to throw in something a little more 'unusual'.

G....If I had these in my stash I might give them a try but since not.....I have a Hasegawa Oscar I might pull out from the stash....or maybe I will call on Pete....not sure...
