B-17s were also on the ground at Hickam. There were plenty of Wildcats, Doogs; both Navy fleet and Marine. Check Ewa Marine Corps Air Station.

I consider this a pretty definitive list, never have found any solid reason to dispute it.

Thanks but no. I'm stuck on doing a Wakecat.

So you want to do a wildcat in wake markings?

if so, you can join, the plane is what matters not the markings so much.

Nice to see the navy represented!

If I can find this photo of my Grandpa standing in front of his Pearl beach house, I think I may do a dio based on it. Which would mean a lot of scratch building...Yes

Thanks, General; I did notice that Navy vessels were in short supply for the build so far.

Did your Grandpa have his beach house there at the time of the attack?  That would make a cool diorama.

That would be a good idea! and it would be elegable for the GB. Smile

The house was there the day of the attack, but the picture was taken beforehand. The house wasn't damaged or anything like that. My grandpa was on base during the attack, in fact was one of the men in charge of crew rescue after. i think, however, that his home would be a more appropriate diorama then the carnage that followed the attack. He only mentioned his role in the aftermath once, to my uncle. He was in charge and had to help with pulling people out of the water.

One of his fellow officer's offered him the bell from the Arizona during the cleanup, but he said he felt it was a dishonor to the sailors. That attitude is why I think if I did a dio of him there, it would be of him enjoying his beachfront house beforehand.

How do you join?  I'm new and don't understand the badges yet.  I just happen to be starting on PBY-5 Buno 2360  of the VP-14 stationed at NAS Kaneohe Bay, Oahu during the attack  and survived. Thanks  Buddy B.

I think it would be best to stick with Pearl Harbor markings exclusively. Otherwise what is the point of the GB if you allow any plane/boat?

 Welcome Sign.

Well, you just ask to join then if your model matches the rules of the build then your in, your plane is elegable, but what kit and scale is it?

the badges, well you click 'edit your profile' then you'll see a spot for a signature and just copy and paste the badge pic in your signature.

how much have you done to your kit? if your just starting and want to join the GB you will have to wait untill december 7th this year before you can continue with it.

I'll just stick with Wake and build the Wildcat in the Hello Kitty GB.

I totally understand sticking with Pearl markings exclusively. Just figured if anything would be worthy of an exception to that, it'd be a Wake defender, considering they were attacked on the same day and (to the Japanese at least) as part of the same campaign.

OK, I'm in!  It might be the new Airfix P-40B in Pearl Harbor colors (or for non-Americans, Pearl Harbour colours!), or maybe an old Hasegawa P-40, or, or, or even...

Hi Red.  The kit is a Monogram 1/48 scale Number 5609 and copyrighted in 1996.  She is still in the reading and studying state, so we're safe there. I can hang in there till December 7th. I've been putting it off till my skills were better and able to work  around my palsy like conditions.

I was at Pearl a few times aboard the USS Hancock CVA-19 and have been quite taken ever since.  So I would love to join this GB.  Buddy Bergman,  Thank You

I'm guessing F-14 Tomcats which fictionally took part in Peal Harbor from that film (what's it called again, the one where the Nimitz goes back in time?) aren't included?!

OK, I'm going to build the Hasegawa 1/48 Val, which is in Pearl Harbor markings.

Yay, you can do a wildcat, they were In the hangers at pearl on the day of the attack, you can't do them in wake markings though must be pearl markings.

If you want to make something else it's fine with me. Smile

I had a look at the cockpit detail on my Zero, and I have to say this is the most detail I've ever seen on any of my models in the stash, and for only $25!!! The detail is everywhere, in the wheel sells, in the cockpit, cockPit sidewalls... Everywhere I tell you!!!

Very anxious to build this model!!!! Big Smile

To tell you the truth I don't know much about the Pearl wildcats, but i think they were in Ewa Marine Corps Air Station.

Best of luck!
