Hi all, I have been very quiet lately with this GB. Ordered my AM decal for the 1/72 Hobbyboss Mil 35 in Angolan AF markings, so hopefully it will be done soon.

Bish, that looks great with the exposed engine hanging in the breeze.   Nicely done.

I have been putting off an up date since the weekend as i was hoping to have the Dio completed, but its taken me a little bit longer than expected. So for now, here's where i am at.

These are the completed under wing cannon. I used fuse wire for the cabling that runs from the wing to the guns.

Then everything was brought together so the aircraft is now finished.

After adding a Flat coat, i decided the wings looked a bit to clean. So i went over them lightly with AK's streaking crime. For exhaust staining i used Tamiya smoke with a touch of black.

Just got the figures and a couple of bits of ground equipmet to finsih before i am calling this all done.

Are you sure you don't want the figure. That would make a great addition to my Rudel collection.

Seriously. I have the 32nd G-2 but mine didn't come with the Rudel figure, i believe that was in the original release.

If you ever need a 1/32 figure of Rudel, gimme a shout as I have one from Hasegawa that I'll never use.

I do like that Panzerknacker symbol.

Dre, no, this isn't one of Rudel's. This aircraft belongs to StG 1. It was originally going to be Rudel's for a larger project i have planned, but i changed my mind on that.

I forgot to ask- is this one of Rudel's A/C?

Thanks Wild, i am rather enjoying this build.

Ok, heres the parts i missed. I should have really taken pics of these for my own benifiet as well as the GB.

These are the engine panels. These are all resin parts and the one in the middle will be fitted to the engine, the rest will be on the ground.

And these are all of the gun parts.

Thanks for the reminder Dre.

Your right, i haven't included any pics of the panels, i think i should. All of the photo's i have seen either show just the bottom panel off, or everything, so i am planning on going with the latter. The panels will be on the ground under the engine, so they will still be there.

Ye, i have 12 in 72nd scale. Thats not a bad idea actually. At this rate, maybe for 2020.

You're not alone in here, but it is quiet.   That's looking really nice- nice catch on the tail band.  How much cowling are you going to use on the nose?  I don't think we've seen those parts yet..

Did I read elsewhere that you have 12 Ju-87's??   Get them all done and make a calendar!

Time for another update and give this GB a little nudge. I got the decals added and you may notice the tail band has changed colour. For reason, and i have no idea why, i painted it white when it should have been yellow. Luckly i noticed this before adding the decals.

Here she is ready for a matt finish.

The engine is now finsihed with its maounts and exhausts added. This will be fitted right at the end.

The base is also finished. So once bits are done i can start adding them to this.

Thanks for looking and all comments welcome. And hopefully i am not alone in here.

I will keep that in mind.

Xtracolour paints are made by Hannants. But i think you can get them in the US. This is the enamel paint range.

www.hannants.co.uk/.../index.php

They also have Acrylic paints, but i don't know how extensive the range is.

The Hasegawa builds up nicely, but I had some minor warping in the wing sections where they attach to the center section and the flaps are ridiculously fragile for the scale.   I don't think it would be too difficult to model the Hasegawa with an exposed AM engine...

I'm going to look into the Xtracolour line, thanks.

I have the 32nd hase Ju 87G-2 in the stash, so they will make a nice pair. Ye, it definitely hasn't put me off. If i can get AM to rectify the issues, that will be great, if not, so be it. But i will wait for some other reviews first.

I use xtracolour enamels on most of my aircraft and armour build. It is gloss and they have a great colour specific range, including RAl and RLM colours. And they come in gloss, which is very useful.

Bish -yeah, I read that too over at the other site but that's not enough to deter me so long as it looks like a Stuka.   I'm not too nitpicky about such issues.

It would be a good addition to any collection but in 1/32 it has an 19" wingspan, so note that.   At least it's a taildragger so it can be shown hanging on a wall.

Yours is looking good- what paints are you using that have such a nice gloss to them?  No need for you to Future that puppy, just decals and straight to weathering.

Dre, i have heard about a few issues with that kit, some problems with the front section being the wrong size and a few other things. But i deffinatly want to add that to my small 32nd collection, but not just yet. Nice work on the canopy.

And speakingof Stuka's, time for another update. Got the second camo colour on this weekend and all the masking tape removed.

Also been working on the engine. Still got some bits to paint and add.

Now i can get the decals on, my favorite bit.

Thanks, Fly-n-Hi- I've been busy working on the canopies (adding sealing strips around the frames, a shade for the instructor, stuff) and I've attached the ordnance and some of the gear doors.

This is the canopy sealing made from lead foil and shaped to the framing... they're about 1mm wide.  If I had been thinking (!!!) I would have masked the inside of these parts....  oops.

And this would be the instructor's shade made from lead foil as well- I'm trying to give this a cheap, inprovised look, like a piece of plastic tacked into place.

Bish- that new 1/32 offering from Trumpeter looks good, I wonder how it builds compared to the old Hasegawa kit.   But, I'll be strong and resist it for the time being as I'm swamped with kits as it is.

This is turning out fantastic D

Dre

All the decals are on this thing and hopefully all the major painting and shading is finished.  I need to do a little more detail painting and weathering before a final flat coating.

I've gone in and delicately sanded almost all the decals with 2000 grit paper to better blend them with the worn and weary paint....  some decals worked out better than others but overall they look much better than fresh.   There's somewhere around 200 decals on this aircraft and its weapons....

all that's left is ....   details, details details.Stick out tongue
