Well.  It was pointed out to me by minds less befuddled than mine that I had mispelled Berny as "Bernie" so I have corrected it.  Here are the updated images.

Now I am going to bed. lol

Okay folks...  It's taken longer than I thought, but I think it came out pretty good.  The Badge is finally done..  There are two versions.  One is 400x400 and the other is the full sized 1024x1024 image.  I didn't know which one people would like best.  Some folks like to reduce themselves.  So here they are.

This is the full size version...

Here is the small version.

I tried to find a small image of some Phantoms in the missing man formation, but I couldn't so the F15s will have to do.  Let me know what you think.

Wow Rich!  I am totally blown away!  That is an awesome badge!  Great job man!!

Thanks Dom.  The compositing took a bit for the logo.  I decided to do the logo by hand, then I composited the F15s on it.  He did so much more than just the Phantoms, I was trying  to not limit the graphics to just F4s.  I thought about using just one aircraft and duplicating, but I thought the F15s worked better.

Yeah guys,

Missing the folks at Christmas is really tough.

Jim feeling that guilt is, for me, the normal thing.

I always wondered if I did enough,

if I failed my folks.

I still can't believe my siblings never had feelings like that,

and never will.

I won't be seeing them at Christmas, and that is

one thing I won't be feeling guilty about.

Rich:

That's really fantastic. You've got all the elements in there.

There's no way to snap in a little

F-4 instead of the F-15's? That is to say, just use the same graphic

for all four planes, they are so small no one will know it was not

an original photo of a Missing Man formation.

Seeing as how they grace the modern version of the Air-Force logo,

F-15's are fine with me.

Great work!Yes

Thanks, Ken!  Very kind thought, bud; however, there are others out there that make my effort look cheap Smile - like this model of "Cajun Fear" at http://hsfeatures.com/b52had_1.htm. Even though it's an H model, it rocks!

Hi, Guys,

The scribing is coming along - sort of (I spend more time repairing mistakes than scribing...). Below is a shot of the nose area. There is supposed to be a small antenna cover for the APX-26 IFF transponder just forward of the main hatch but the kit only represents this with a small blister of plastic. I ground it out and added a piece of shaped sprue. The area around the cover appears to be depressed slightly so that's the way I modelled it.

Also on top, the escape hatch for the EWO was outlined by two panel lines that looked more like the lines provided to indicate the walkway areas. I removed the inner line since the outer line is about the same size as the other hatches.

Also, the outline of the Doppler hight-finder radar antenna cover was left off. It should be between the bomb bay and the forward wheel wells, as shown below.

Cheers,

Russ

Great detail work Russ!  I will have to say this will be the most authentic B-52D I have ever seen built other than the real thing!

Thanks Ken, Mikey! Mikey, I got my scriber from Micro-Mark (www.micromark.com). I actually bought two scribers - one a Carbide Scriber has a very sharp round point; the other is a Panel Scriber and has a chisel point. The round-point scriber is good for making the initial scribe and the chisel-point scriber widens and cleans out the line. I'm just getting used to both of them so the jury is still out on how best to use them.

Yeh, that's the way it's supposed to work.  Most of the time it does, but occaisonally it becomes the reinstall from hell...

Striker8241

Sparrowhyperion

Ouch Russ...  I hate it when Windows completely pooches up..  I'm praying I don't ever have to do a reinstall here.  When we moved, I lost two of our Windows 7 disks and licenses.  So If i ever have to reinstall on my machine, or Marissa's, I will have to get another license.  I hate Mickeysloth...

Actually, it worked out pretty good Rich. The software said it would delete all data from the disk so I had already backed up everything I wanted to save, but when I completed the clean - voila! all my files and folders were still there. Only the applications and the Windows operating files were overwritten. Maybe it's something new but it worked out good for me. Last time I did a clean install, it really did erase everything on the disk and I had to reinstall everything.

Not much going on the last few weeks with the build. I was off work the previous week and had little time to build. It seems I hate sitting in the house, because it gives me too much time to think and find it necessary to find other things to do. I did paint a little on the A-7 here and there but seem to find it hard to get into it.

Part of my vacation week was spent dealing with Mom's car, one day trying to deal with battery and alternator issues and then another full day running around getting it transferred into my name! Going back and forth to the courthouse, emissions testing, insurance agents, banks and so on, it was a total of 9 stops before I was done. After it was over with, I was drained physically and emotionally.  I still have to deal with the house soon, and that will be a major pain.

I did manage a few day trips up the hill, and some in-town pleasure trips. It felt good to do so as I couldn't get away at all for for the last several years. So much freedom I gave up for all that, and even now it's hard to not feel guilt when I get away.

This week was also bad to try to get back to the work bench as I just got off a 6 day work week, most being 10 hour days and one was from 8 a.m to nearly 10 p.m. I sat down last night in a attempt to build but ended up falling asleep at the desk. I did do a little more painting before the sandman got me. Camo paint jobs are so tedious anyway.

Have to wait and see what this week holds for me. Maybe things will settle down down with the coming of fall, though I dread the upcoming Holidays.

Hi Jim,

Here is my take on the process of grieving for the loss of a parent.  Depending on what age you are when they pass, in most instances they are there for a great deal of your life.  So it is going to take a lot of time to get over their passing.  And you have to factor in the degree of closeness you had.

I know what you mean about the Holidays.  Christmas is the worst.  My Dad loved Christmas.  He was the central point in our family.  Now with him gone, Christmas is very empty and hollow.

Maybe you could check with your friends and stay with them over the Holidays.

So i cut 1/32/ off, and it yielded 1/16th. I used an XActoid knife. Chainsaw?

I will post pictures. Good news, i'll just use Putty, to fill the gap. I could show you, but you would want to buy a chain saw.

I fixed the wing thickness as well, tough, as it was previously CA bonded; I could show you, but you would want to buy a chain saw.

I fixed the ducts, I put a band around them: I could show you, but you would want to steal a chain saw.

I reinforced the wing roots: I could show you, but I hear people running to gas up chain saws.

Everytime I go to snip here, it goes snap there: wanna see?....lol......chainsaws?

hmmmm....it's fall......hmmmmm.....leaf mulcher.....hmmmm...wooooodchipper.......yessss........ooops

it's a mission......

Lol, Dom, you're cracked Big Smile. Let me get my chain saw and I'll fix your problem Devil

The best reason I have to support the higher authority idea,

is that I've suffered under the lower authority of people all my life,

and apparently all they care about is their own authority, and their own goodness.

Oh well, back to mediocre authority, as good as it gets.

I love good people, but I don't like do-gooders, i.e. lower authorities whom do higher good,

because, Cliff, "Not only must good be done; it must also be seen to be done." ...

It's an explanation of why so much 'goodness' happens to @%#@  people. - people are

@%#@, so lower authorities do good to elevate the @%#@ in people, and then good is seen to be done.

If people were not @%#@, then how could good ever be seen to be done?

A coin has two opposite sides, but without the opposite side, the other side would not exist, and the coin would not exist. So it is with goodness and @%#@. The currency of authority.

Yes, @%#@ is the foil of life, the other side, and do-gooders could never be seen to be doing good

without that brilliant backdrop and opposite of @%#@.  Good can only be seen when juxtaposed with @%#@.

If that doesn't make sense, Cliff, you need to get back to believing in lower authorities,

you know, people. They have good intentions. They are seen to be good. Golden brick roads, made of good bricks....a perfect path........paved with good intentions........

Have a good day.....lol

Gosh, thank the higher authority for @%#@!!!

Without it, there would be no good at all.

Hey guys just got on, seems something is up with the cable company, fuzzy TV the other day and no ISP for the last two...

Mike: Sorry to hear about your sister. I'm not sure what to say other than if you ever just want someone to talk to we're here for you. As to prayer I can't really explain- I think it's kinda the idea of taking your problems and handing them up to a higher authority. If you ever should want to know more I'd recommend grabbing something by CS Lewis from the library - he can explain things a great deal better than me. 'A Grief Observed' which he wrote after the death of his wife is a particularly gut-wrenching explanation of  why does so much @%#@ happen to good people.

They gota way with it because tolerances were so wonkey,
