I'm going to go for something a littl less esoteric, and hopefully a bit more straightforward. The LHS had this at a good price. Tamiya 1/72 Mosquito B.IV

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Thanks guys... I know its a strech with the Do335, but it is two engines, and it does carry bombs,(grin) but I did ask for a ruling from the Administrator(Panzer Pilot) and he gave the offical okey dokie! LOL... The resin is kind of a pain in the butt and I have some refining to do along the way, but we will see.

OK... I finally got everything in to get started, I decided to get the Verlinden detail kit since the engines looked so chincey, I've not worked much with resin kits but I have built my share of models over the years... Looks like a PITA but the resin parts look SOOO MUCH BETTER!

OK... Panzerpilot... Give me a ruling on a Dornier 335A, 1 engine in front and 1 engine in back and an internal bomb bay that held 1 bomb. If OK it will be a Tamiya 1/48 scale Do.335 arrow. If that wont qualify, I have a Bf110 begging to be built.

Thanks

Doug

Grumble, grumble,

Guys, thought I'd have the A-20 done by the weekend but finishing up I went to drill out the holes on the top of the spine for the two antenni and I guess the drill bit was dull because instead of cutting cleanly though the plastic it cracked the seam line Angry I brushed on a little liquid cement and tried repainting it but the OD green was much lighter. It was then I realized that the green I'd used on the model was Polly Scale USAAF OD green which I don't have any more of and the paint I bought to replace it is Model Master USAAF OD green. Comes in the same bottle but the MM is much lighter than the PS. I figure I can add a little black or dark brown and get a decent match but the seam is now slightly visible and I believe that since I'm repainting the spine anyway I might as well try to putty and sand out the seam.

Grrrrrr, it's not a big thing but gosh it's annoying when I'm so close to finishing the kit. Hopefully I'll be done by next week.

Doogs: I think I said it before but those fabric seat beats look fantastic, I have to order or make a pair for my 1/32 and 1/24th P-47s.
I use the pre-painted seat belts from Eduard and yeah they don't really drape correctly to really look convincing. Still I find them easier to use than trying to rig something with tape though.

Been tripped up with compressor issues the past few days - my main compressor is down, and my old Paasche needs a 1/4 to 1/8" NPT adapter that I've had to order. So I'm stuck midway through priming the interior.

Haven't been altogether idle, however. Been knocking out a set of HGW micro-textile harnesses. LOVE these things. They've completely ruined me on PE belts, at least in 1/32 scale!

I've been away a while, .. and away from the bench too much! Too much working and other distractions.

Nice to see some good work going on in here, gentlemen!

DoogsATX...Looks like you got it coming together. Pretty decent AM available for such a recent kit production! Those guns are gonna look nice!

Spike190. Gotcha changed to a Do217. Nice choice!

You could build one anyway, and hide it inside your 1/32 monster....

There's a diorama for you:

"mmm... 1/72... Om nom nom nom...."

DoogsATX

Ugh. Why do all the cool VVS things always come out in the wrong scale?

It seems a lot of those eastern European companies prefer 1/72, and that's where a lot of the VVS stuff is coming from. You could build one anyway, and hide it inside your 1/32 monster....

Whoops sorry! Embarrassed

They do two kits of the Pe-8, the regular bomber and one for Stalin's personal a/c though I think Stalin hated flying and only used it a handful of times.

Both look like great models in the box, super detail, I haven't built either as I said so I can't comment on fit.

Doogs: Yeah both are 1/72nd, though I'm generally a 1/48th guy I prefer my bombers in the smaller scale.

I'll try to get some pics up tonight of the Marauder.  I started work in the cockpit/nose area last night and decided to scratchbuild sidewall detail instead of spring for the LoneStar cockpit.  I've reworked both seats too, wired the IP and am trying to figure out how in the heck to make a bulkhead without a contour gauge

Doogs: I have to say it one more time that monster is awesome.

SR: Very cool! I've picked up two of the Zvezda kits of the Pe-8 four-engine bomber but haven't started either yet. The IL-4T torpedo bomber looks really cool, looking forward to seeing how she comes out.

Do torpedoes count as bombs? If so, put me down for this:

Untitled

Found it at the LHS and couldn't resist! If this gets ok'd it will end up being my third Soviet plane in a row (I think I may have a problem....)

Good stuff going on around here. Lots of A-20's and B-26's....

Yamato, good to see you again, that build looks very familiar....

Doogs, you are insane. That is huge.

Thanks
