lol, burned out on masking tape... I was nearly there with the masking on my Flanker!

Vance: I'm still in too, though I'm lazy and making slow progress. I sprayed the paint for the first coat of the multi-colour camo last week and started masking this weekend but got burnt out on cutting and sticking all the little pieces of tape on her. Really need to get back underway.

Bsyamato - sorry, just getting back from vacation - yes, we'll extend the date to get you in. I still need to finish my little Gripen as well.

Sub pieces to me seems enough :) just out the missiles and other weapons as hasegawa uses .

Taxtp i'm waithing for the Vance reply, even if i'll build the draken  near OOB it's impossible to finish before end of year, i use enamels that need more time than acrilics to dry :)

thinkin to do one of swedish version,  but not yet decided while :(

When are you planning to build it BSY ? I have the Hasegawa version to do for this GB too. It would be fun to do them at about the same time, if Vance is kind enough to keep this going for a bit longer.

Hey, that's what I was SUPPOSED to get from the hobby store while I was in Oregon! But it never came in, so I had to order something else, which delayed my entry, so I started on the Amiot instead, now the GB deadline is here.....

Hate to say this, guys, but it looks like I may have to back out of this one.  The LHS wasn't able to get a kit in, and the only one I have in the stash needs replacement decals, so unless there's a miracle that leaves enough time to get something together quickly I won't be able to make the deadline.  

If something does work out by year's end, I'll definitely try to get the plane done in time ( the 48 Hour GB has given me some practice in strategizing ).

Nice work Vance! Frankly I've been stalled due to not having a detail airbrush to pre-shade the underside. It kept bubbling the paint in the colour cup and not spraying. Found a tip this morning that apparently the nozzle wasn't airtight and to put Chapstick on the threads to seal it. Worked like a charm and the underside paint is now laid down and masked.  

Extension? EXTENSION?!?!?!  Group builds never get extended in here do they?!?!  ;)

...And I'm back! Still have to finish up the Amiot, but if the GB is extended to end of Jan I can probably be done in time.

Vance, I vote black. Have you ever seen any plane that does not look totally awesome in black? Other possibility is see what othe countries operate the Gripen. I know South Africa, but we already have one of those in our group.

Well, the LHS supposedly has my kit on the way.  I only had time to stop by there quickly, and didn't specify, so we'll see which 1:72 Drakken, Gripen, or Viggen comes in.  If it makes it by this weekend and looks like something I can do in 48 hours, it may end up being a crossover for the Weekend Madness GB starting Friday night.  If it looks more complex, I'll at least get a start on it while my weekend project has glue, putty, etc drying to keep up the momentum.

Nice work Vance, dunno - the grey is kinda dull but I still think it looks good.

I haven't seen a black one before. I'm not a big fan of grey/grey, or even grey/grey/grey, but grey/grey/grey/grey is somehow more interesting :)

Mostly smoothed out now, but kinda wishing I'd deflected the forward canards. I've seen a few pics that way recently & kinda like the look.

Now the big decision. Kit-supplied gray over gray #1, kit supplied gray over gray #2, or..... the overall matte black weapons teasting machine?

Sigh, I'm with you Bsyamato. I've got the underside of my Viggen masked but between the P-47s and Tiger tank I keep getting distracted. Smashing the nozzle of my detail airbrush didn't help either.

I'm sure will not finish the Viggen for the end of GB but... i have a trick from the hat  (i hope is a good traslation) , waiting for a revell draken (rebox of the hase kit but at least middle of price)  avaibility from one of my customers

Well, I do have the NM leading edges done, I could have masked them for spraying the underside tonight but ended up playing computer games instead...

So I'm about to leave for a few weeks... and I haven't even started mine yet (other than cutting a few pieces off the sprue.)

So it looks like I will have to humbly ask and beg our noble host for a slight time extension.

Progress is progress, my radioactive friend!
