I honestly don't see many or anyone completing more then two builds. Not that it can't be done. I watched Cliff's Japanese GB and Trey built like 6-7 planes! Armor seems to be more of a grind with all the weathering involved.

I still like Shell's with the forward facing panther as the main badge (since it captures the original GB's badge so well). Steel Cats is kind of a sequel name as well. Many movie sequels never include the original movie's name.

Jack's badge for the ambitious, few, and proud. Cool

Probably need to change the length of the build to allow the possibility of multiple builds. Sept-Aug 2013?

That might get a bit complicated. The problem would be Shell and Jack would have to have the same fonts and such to coordinate their badges..

I don't know, I think things are getting overcomplicated. I think a general tweaking of the Jack's badge for multiple builds would be sufficient.

T-man: I admit it, three badges is complicated, and frankly I still prefer just one KICK-*** design, decided on by you.  There seemed to be interest building for more than one for multiple builds so I was responding to that...anyway, it's is fun to watch this evolve!

SMJ: I like the idea but even in a year I doubt I'd be able to get three build without burnout. Two shouldn't be a problem but three along with the other GB I'm in and stuff on my own just a little too much.

Guys: How about three badges, in a multiple build theme...with a  (3) build limit.    Let me explain.

Badge 1: Use the badge design above but take out the girl(Indifferent...don't panic guys..read on), add the forward facing or silver side facing cat, change the( 2) to (1) and make it bronze colored.  Remove stripe OR connect it to the number like an award.

Badge 2: Use badge above but add the arm band, swasticka(sp?), iron cross, etc, ???  (like the side facing cat)  to the girl...change the (2) to silver and connect stripe to number.   Graphic experts needed!, Jack/Shell...

Badge 3: Use badge above, add forward facing/side facing cat(leave girl in too)...again, graphic experts needed.  Then, change (2) to (3) and make it gold! Connect stripe to number.

Lastly, lenghten build duration to 12 months...that's 4 months per build to achieve GOLD!  Do-able...and an effort worthy of the honor!

Oh yeah, and those that earn all three badges can add all three to their tagline if they wish!

Sounds a little like the 1000 wheels GB.

That might get a bit complicated. The problem would be Shell and Jack would have to have the same fonts and such to coordinate their badges..

Alrighty, taken in the various suggestions...

Skull badge removed.

Have returned to the blue grey lettering and centered the figure to more resemble Carl's design.

As a potential multiple build badge, I've introduced an oak wreath with the number two.  Can easily change the number to three if someone is really feeling industrious.  At the same time though it might mistakenly be seen as part two ... will have to wait and see on the feedback.

The font for the dates is Deutsch Gothic .

regards,

Jack

I LIKE it!!! And Carl's badge too. Great stuff gentlemen! Bow Down

Looking so much forward to starting the Tiger since I'm still messing around with this tiny friggin' M3 Staurt and some other pygmy armour. Will be nice to get back to building some real heavy metal...

Thanks Ernest. Planning the GB badge is always fun. I wish I was more creative and had the tools at my disposal. Good thing there are others to pick up the slack.

I think Jack's badge will be an extra incentive to get multiple builds in. I might be lucky just to get one built.

I still feel you should ONLY deserve it for completion. How about Jack's be used for MULTIPLE completions? Shell's, since it is close to the original Big Cats GB badge, becomes the main badge for one completion.

Wow!  All this activity and mostly for just the badge!  Big Smile

I'll add my 2 cents:  I really likeyour idea Eric, with Shell's badge the best for the primary and Jack's as the multiple badge (gotta luv Catwoman!).  Whichever is decided is really not a big deal....participating in this GB is!

Hey, they both look great to me, and if you want to use Jack's for multiple builds that will give me more motivation to pull out the Tamiya Panther G and Dragon Jadgpanther I've got collecting dust in my stash too Yes

That was my thinking. Maybe extend the GB a little?

I hope everyone puts this much effort into their builds! Stick out tongue

The multiple badge thing usually applies to different "achievements", doesn't it?

Bianca Beauchamp taught high school? None of my teachers looked like her...talk about hard to concentrate.

Yeah I was in the 1000 roadwheels and took the badge for entry, but dropped that because i failed to finish on time.

I've never done two badges, but if one helps to motivate someone along to the finish, then I'm okay with it. We'll limit the GB to the two badges upon either mine or group acceptance.

I'm definitely not a PC guy, but would the Death Head offend anyone? Confused

Eric: I'm not offended I just think it doesn't go with the design...too morbid for a "sexy" design.  I like the German font in the girl design too.

Guys: IMHO the two badges (if Eric decides to go that route) should be "similar" (font, info & dates, background silouette, etc..???) enough that it's obvious they refer to the same GB.  But one could be more serious while the other is more racy/fun.

That being said, I still lean towards deciding on one badge. I don't know the names of those working on the different designs, but why don't you all continue to evolve each one and then put both (three) up for  a vote...or let T-man pick HIS favorite.  A design competition for Eric to judge...so to speak...

Lastly, I LOVE that cat facing forward design, BTW!  Probably because I liked the original Big Cats badge so much!

Nope. Its still in use to today by military units. Its origins go back to the days of cavalry.

Funny that, I continued to work on my badge since I was curious to what could be done with it.

It's true, in the design process you can end up adding too much, overworking it.  Many times the old adage applies, less is more.

The simplified badge with the head on panther view looks really sharp, and very effective.

So here is what I ended up with.  The pink around the lettering is representative of the waffenfarbe for panzertruppen.

Jack

What do you think of this stupid idea: Your latest badge with the Panther and just adding a tiger to it? That sort of sums it up? Wink

Naw, that aint stupid . I had thought of that idea also .Yes

Gamera , i tend to agree with you . Its starting to get too many add ons .I came up with another design this morning . Maybe just add the dates on this new idea . Eric can lay out the rules as to what qualifies. Also i agree about seeing more of Jacks ideas for the badge . The more choices the better i say .............imo . Final say is up to Eric of couse .Toast

O, now i do like this. And it has a ring of the old Big cats GB badge with the cat coming towards you.

I had the "Big Cats" badge in mind also when i made this new one . I like the "mean look " in this one .That one has a Tiger and Panther tank in the background and that seemed to define the g.b. limits . I dont want to copy that one per say . I could just add "Tigers and Panthers" , then the "German " wouldnt be needed .

I love what you've got there!!! Heart Definate menacing look to it. Maybe add the dates of the build?

And yeah I think I'd go with either just this one badge or it and Jack's Catwoman. The Early Jets GB from a couple of years ago had four badges and I'd started out with the same on my Japanese GB but we dropped back to a 'fun' badge and a more 'serious' one.

I like the original badge too. It's clean. Maybe just add German over the top of it, so there is no confusion as to other Cat named armor.

I'd probably go September 2012-February 2013.

Jack definitely had a creative badge. I see no reason why we couldn't have a choice. I wouldn't create more then two badges though. What say everyone?
