Gamera , i tend to agree with you . Its starting to get too many add ons .I came up with another design this morning . Maybe just add the dates on this new idea . Eric can lay out the rules as to what qualifies. Also i agree about seeing more of Jacks ideas for the badge . The more choices the better i say .............imo . Final say is up to Eric of couse .
Hey guys, Eric it's your GB and Carl it's your badge and I don't mean to step on any toes but personally I like the original simple badge better. And Jack's Catwoman badge is pretty cool if you should decide to go with two badges to give a little more choice.
As I said you guys are driving and I'm just along for the ride so I'm happy with whatever ya'll come up with, just my two cents for what it's worth.
SMJmodeler Shellback: Nice!

Nice!

I think the Death head would be appropiate as it was worn by all German tank crews. But it wouldn't be essential to get the message across.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
On the bench: Airfix 1/72nd Harrier GR.3/Fujimi 1/72nd Ju 87D-3
More on the badge tomorrow guys .
carsanab Shellback: Ok , i'll take the totenkopf off . ...put it around his neck on a thick chain...............

Lol.
Eric
Shellback Ok , i'll take the totenkopf off .
Yes. I might just drop the Totenkopf off. I think Germany applies to both Heer and SS.
Oh .................
I tried the totenkopf on other locations and didnt car for it . Maybe just leave it off . There's probably enough already . Das Reich and hitler youth ? LOL .........pretty soon this is going to look like some kind of propaganda .
The Totenkopf is ok. Not sure I like it on the tail end though.
Maybe you could add Das Reich and maybe 12th SS Panzer Hitler Youth or are we over doing it?
Eric , i just read the feedback from everyone ...............i change it in a while
I had a suggestion from P38 to add a totenkopf . Also the resized is about what is commonly used for badges in the sig line . Let me know what you guys think .
Andy made some good points. I'd remove the GB and dates and just say Sept 2012-March 2013 or perhaps Feb 2013 which is more accurate.
Carl, you are always helpful in creating GB badges like you did for mine! It looks GREAT!
My only feedback... remove some words on the last line... either 'G.B.' or the day, we only need to know the month and year. That way it will make it look less crowded. And keep in mind when we shrink it we will not be able to read all of the words at that size.
Can't wait! Promised myself not to sign up for another GB until September. LOL
Andy
dupes What does it say about me that I already knew who Bianca Beauchamp was? Hmmmm...

It either means you were a student at the french high school she taught at before switching careers, or sprues in an open kit box is not the only type of plastic you like to stare at. rofl!
Carl - badge is looking good, all pertinent info seems to be there, but how's it look once shrunk down?
regards,
Jack
Well , for know we'll see if this works .

As defined by wikipedia, the posed question of Wehrmacht would receive a yes and no answer, as it referred to all branches of armed services (including air force and navy), with the SS in theory being the fourth branch. At times though it seems to have been considered an entity of it's own, working alongside the other branches.
Heer defintiely refers to the regular army, while waffen-SS would be it's equivalent.
Short of graphically representing a tank (as they both used the same armour), probably the most universal symbol associated with either, would be the balkenkruz that was used as a vehicle recognition marking. This has already been placed on the hind quarters of the cat. Historically, the swastika armband is more associated with the nazi party symbol (think more SA troops, Gestapo and Himmler with his black clad soldiers, police units. etc.). It certainly does convey the era of this GB theme.
The only other commonality I can think of are awards, particularly the Knight's and Iron Crosses, along with the colourful ribbons.
Lol , you know i dont mind doing it Eric .
Sorry friend. I think we'll all get the idea.
Ok , Eric , just German .
Satch and RBaer, look forward to your builds.
RBaer I'm done with the IDF GB and have a Tamiya KT "Ardennes" and a set of Friuls, just waiting to go..... I just need to do enough research to find a good photo of a subject to model, and make sure the Friuls I have are appropriate for the KT I have.

Which Fruils do you have.
Apprentice rivet counter.
Yeah, maybe just change Wehrmacht to German. Anthony pointed out that the arm band and Balkan cross signify WW II.
tigerman Thanks Carl. Maybe German WW II?
