Can one still join this group with its uber-cool badge?

If so, how about I do a Tamiya J1n1 Gekko (moonlight)??

Hi all, Here is my 1/48 Hobbyboss Mirage 3 cz in SAAF 2 sqn colors (in France) just before being delivered to South Africa in 1963.

Alclad finish and a resin Bangseat. All the decals except for the Castles and finflash are from the kit and worked very well over the alclad.

While home for spring break, Id figured I do a quick build. But knowing me, I had to add some detail. This is an older (hasegawa) kit I picked up at a vendors table for a buck, so I dont feel bad mucking around with it! lol

This is an JA-37.

First off, there was no detail in the cockpit, just a floor and a plain chair..scratchbuilding commence!

I used plastic card, and some old gift card to build it up. Everything here not silver plastic was adeed by me. I even scratched an IP

[

painted up and looking good

next, I decided to add internal detail, a la intake ducts. Spare road wheels from my Stug kit supplied the details

thats all for today. Stay tuned for more! :)

1/48....

It'll be a week or two before I get started, but should easily beat the deadline.

Nice scratchwork on that cockpit. What kind of jet is that?

Since it's spring break, are you building the model in Ft. Lauderdale? Paradise

Good looking progress, by the way, Ms OWL.

Ive made a few changes to the Viggen's appearance: lengthening the nose cone by sticking a road wheel in there (also from the Stug kit), adding on conformal fuel tanks, and changing the wing-shape a bit. All those changes, plus the fit of the kit meant filling and sanding. Yay... Indifferent

Nice work Owl! Somehow I missed your earlier post, good job with the cards to build up the spartan cockpit and I love the use of the stug wheels for the compressors etc.

I'm sorry I forgot to tak a few pics of my Jug Thunderbolt before I painted it tonight, I'll take a couple of pics tomorrow. This was the first time i used my airbrush in a long time. I need to do some touching up where the colors change from dark olive to neutral grey. Also, I need to get rid of finger print in the paint. Embarrassed LOL

Looks great Owl Actually, everyones builds are looking great.

That's a nice, attractive camo scheme to look at; finely and subtly weathered, too.  Good work, Ms OWL!

Thanks Ms. Owl. That must be a occupational hazard. We just can't resist picking it up. Especially when the matte finishes look dry. Geeked LOL

My daughter used to like "Babylon 5."  Built her a model of it, hung it from her ceiling with fishing line, and glued myself to the fishline with superglue.  Had to holler till somebody brought me fingernail polish remover.

Embarrassing moment...Embarrassed
