I missed it too.  I had some painting problems trying to replicate the brass sheeting on the wings, I think I have it worked out.  i expect to finish next weekend, I'll post pictures when I do.

Hi Ordie,

The revised deadline (31 Jan) has passed, and I still haven't finished :(

Any chance of a revised revised deadline ? I think I've worked out how I can make my Wildcatfish work.

If the deadline holds, then I've missed out and apologise for not completing my model.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

That Black Cat looks terrific Ken. I have one somewhere, I should dig it out and build the darn thing!

It was built in 2011, I was going to ask until I looked it up on Hunting After Dark GB. So I did it before this GB ever got startd

it's 1 48 scale; They were/are big planes. They have a wing span of 104 feet. The jeep is the same scale.

Thanks

Nice-looking aircraft.  What's the scale on that?  It looks pretty big.

I see on the first page of the thread that Ordie extended the GB till 31 January, 2013, so it looks like you could still be "in."

Hi everyone, Thought you might like to see my Black Cat PBY Catalina night fighter. I wish I could've joined your GB with my build.

Well, since my last post on 10/8, I lost my home from hurricane Sandy. The Albatross did not survive but the only thing left was the landing gear....so 99% good enough?

Hi Ordie,

This one has gone a little quiet.  I ran into some issues with my Wildcatfish and deferred the build so that I could complete a few more others.

I'm more than happy to complete the commitment I made and finish it if you want this to continue, or if you want to close it off, it will wait for another one.

Cheers

JTB - Very nice Arado!  I'll move one of your photos to the front page to hold place until (if) you send a 'glamor' shot to replace it.  Seriopusly, quite nice.  It has been a pleasure having you in the build.  Please do check in with us from time-to-time - better still, hang around!

Smile

Len - Ditto on the 'completed' photos.  I'll use one of your workbench shots until you get some 'glamor' shots of the Albatross.

The one picture you did get posted so far looks good, JT.  Very nice, very neat.  Decals blend into the paintwork exceptionally well.

Some pictures of my "finished" arado. Faaaar from perfect but I'm happy enough with how it turned out. You can barely see the camo pattern - but trust me, it's there. and it took forever.... lol

I don't take my models too seriously so feel free to comment/criticize.

On another note- I enjoyed my first group build- thanks ordie for helping me get started. I'll keep following the thread- thanks again.

...Thinking about doing a 1:48 Czech Model SO3C "Seamew" as my next build.

Len,

I'd find a 1:48 Seamew build facinating to follow along Yes.  I know they were used in combat off cruisers for observation (and maybe even some rescues), but the incidents I know of were all in the ETO, Med mostly.  Discovering their history has now become an inevitability ...Geeked.

JTBuckley - I understand how it goes re: real life, believe me.  It's great to have you back with us, and I'm anxious to see your Arado.

Yes

Looks great!  The Albatross is one of my favorite planes.  I'll get the "finished photo" on the front page as soon as you post it.  You're our second finisher - congratulations!
