Hi all....same update.....the wing was separated in two parts to better fit the semifusolage joint and to minimize the need to putty.I've no used putty only ciano and a little of surfacer500......the under wing will glue after......Ciao Enrico
Here is my F-100D it is the Pahodee Tiger 308th TFS/31stTFW Bien Hoa Ab RVN 1965. Super scale decals and pretty much straight from the box. I did add sway braces for the bombs that I had in the spare parts box. Of course it pales in comparison to Stikpusher's Hun but, I am showing it anyway. Comments welcome.......
I really need a better camera for close up pictures.
Hello, was wondering how you did the yellow rings around underwing ordinance. Were they decals or paint? If paint, how did you get them so symmetrical and clean?

I have tape that is about 1/16 in wide. I paint the tip of the bomb yellow, wrap the tape around the tip where I think that it looks about right and paint the OD. The tape is flexible enough to follow the curve and that is how I did that.
I like your Hun, MKelley, nice job.
Cheers
Tony
I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
Great progress everyone! Be sure to post or email me (tcepilot@gmail.com) the final shot for the front page!

I just bought the Monogram 1/48 F-8 Crusader, amazing kit! I have ''Nam Fever'', I'm currently saving up for a hobby boss THUD ($55)
Yes I think I'm doing the weasel but it's a local shop and no shipping cost.
No hobby shops in Houston???? I remember a good shop down in the south end of Houston many years ago...
Well it was in the mid 80s when I was going to Houston on occasion while I was stationed at Ft Polk. All I remember is that the shop was in the south end of the city on one of the major north/south streets. IIRC, it was on the east side of the street. It was well stocked and had a good selection. I only went there a few times over the years ( almost 6 hour round trip, over 2 1/2 hours driving each way, between base, Houston, and back again), and I sure do not remember the name.
Well I would not be surprised if it was closed. I can not for the life of me remember where it was and looking on Google imagery was no help... None of the hobby shops here that I frequent that were around back then are even in the same location that they were in the 1980s. Except for a big chain store.... not to mention all the shops here that opened and closed in the years since then...
You should try finding a local hobby shop when you live in a town of 9000. The best one is an 1 1/2 hours away and they charge above suggested retail. I found one about 25 miles away but it is pretty limited in what he has. Other than that Squadron usually is the fall back.
Well that's why when I was at Ft Polk, I usually had to drive to Houston to visit a real hobby shop. While the local town of Leesville had one for awhile, it did not last more than a year or so. The closest cities of Alexandria, Lake Charles, and Shreveport had none. So while the base PX had a pretty good selection of models, supplies were minimal except for Pactra paints and glue. And there was a toy store on Hiway 171 that carried a few models and Humbrol paints. There was no internet back then so for anything else it was mail order from a shop here in So Cal that I was on their mailing list. I truly appreciated it here a few years back when there was lots of shops where I live. The economy now is killing most of them.
I have a few parkzone birds like the P-51D Mustang BL with the brushless engine and Li-Po battery. It's a good deal foor $200 only if you are experienced with RC planes.
Well guys like toys that they can play with... and I suspect that RC cars are the steady business. Not so catastrophic when they crash.
I'm nearly finidhed with the Scooter, just a few more decals (7) a gloss coat weathireng and a duulcoat. Here she is:
Greetings,
I would like to join this build! I have a work in progress, an 1/48 Hasegawa F-4E Phantom II. Here are a few pics of the work done on the cockpit so far:

professordeath Looking excellent so far, Ken. I see you're using the resin Aires cockpit set. It will be good to see another phantom come together.

Thank you Jimmy D. for the compliment. It is great to see you putting together this build.
professordeath Actually, tcepilot is the his of this GB. I'm just keenly interested in the subject matter so I keep an eye out over here. I finished the Monogram F-4C, but wasn't all that please. Will probably be entering simethjg else before long.

Many apologies to tcepilot. I did not mean to take away your efforts.
Yes, in 1/48 scale the Hasegawa is a better kit for the F-4. The F-4C however is an older molding and has raised panel lines. It is also hard to get and goes for high bucks on eBay. It is almost worth it if you have the space to go for the Tamiya 1/32 F-4C/D. But then you have to sand down all the raised panels.
Finished!
Pretty nice pilot Just a suggestion but, your seam cleanup is good on the aircraft itself, but you may want to carry that over to things like the drop tanks too.
Would love to get into this GB; are you allowing crossovers from other builds? I'd like to build a Monogram Skyraider and a Fujimi A-6 Intruder, if possible. Thanks!

2022 New Year's Resolution: Enter 1 group build and COMPLETE a build this year!! Why Photobucket did you rob me of my one Group Build Badge??? Must be part of the strong anti-Monogram cartel!!!
