Yes I AM building 4 Eduard kits at the same time!

I have the space for them, as I just removed everything from my bench except my tool box. That provides me with 1.6m x 0.6m of space... I just hope the last one arrives soon (A-8)...

I'm not too sure if I can do it, but it's worth a try. I'm completely insane anyway, so I don't have to worry about my sanity, eh?

I think I have enough kits to participate in this GB, even if you extend it for a whole year:

  • Eduard Fw 190A-8/R2 (on the bench)
  • Eduard Fw 190A-8
  • Eduard Fw 190D-9 Weekend
  • Eduard Fw 190D-9
  • Eduard Fw 190D-11
  • Hasegawa Fw 190A-5 w/ staff car
  • Tamiya Fw 190A-3
  • Dragon Ta 152C-0
  • Zoukei Mura Ta 152H (still have to buy that one)

Are you really going to build all these at once!  And I thought I had a lot of started models on my work bench.Surprise

I know thats right. I barely have room enough on my bench for the one I'm doing!  All's I can say is my hat goes off to the man that 1) has the room to do that  and 2) that CAN do that!

Thanks Eric. There is alot of detail visible. Just get the Eduard PE set for it though. With that the engine has about 75 parts and it really pays off to use it!

Joe (mustang)- That thing is looking sweet with the nose on. Looks like there will be tons of detail visible on that engine!!

Joe (Rix)- cant wait to see some cals on that cool looking finish!!

Clemens- Are you going to be building four (4) Eduard 190's at the same time??? And I thought I had lost my sanity by building 2!!

Just got back from a trip to the beach myself so hopefully benchtime is incoming!!

I did get to stop by the  Warner Robbins Museum and check out their fantastic collection of planes!!! Got lots of pics as that place is awesome, and FREE!!! Also, got to stop by the 8th Air Force museum in Savannah and got some great pics there as well. They are currently restoring a B-17 as the  "City of Savannah".

Both were very cool places that I would very much recommend if you're ever in the area!

Yeehaw, We be having fun with decals now. I never thought I would see this but, it seems I have found a set of decals that is impervious to the powers of Solvaset and Microsol. Yup, the Authentic Decals set that I am using had absolutely no reaction to either setting solution when I conducted a test prior to applying them to the model. Mind boggling. Luckily I happen to have a set of Aeromaster 1/72 balkenkreuz and another set of Eagle Strike decals for FW 190As for the majority of the stencils. Thus, the only decals I need from the Authentic set is the black M & I and the serial #. This coupled with three different interpretations of which type of balkenkreuz to use and its placement between my 3 different references. This is though the fun of our hobby.

Greg is right. It is an abbreviation which means something along the lines of "company", but in all honesty, I have no clue what the actual meaning is. Why? Because there are many terms this stands for. In this case it seems to relate to "Aktiengesellschaft", which is in fact a German term for company (none you would use in everyday German though.).

Doug, AG should mean German company, sort of similar to a US corporation (Inc. or LLC etc). Maybe Clemens can confirm this, but I've never seen the abbreviation 'AG' used for anything else. I think it is a German word that is unpronounceable to me. :)

So would have to guess they are Revell Germany molds? Which should mean a pretty good kit?

My pleasure me compadre. I so wish I had the space to display 1/32 kits as I sure would be into buiding them. I still eye the Revell 1/32 Ju88 and that He111 would be choice to build. Alas, I am certainly fine with 1/72 & 1/48 though.

OK... I see the differance now... The one you saw was Revell America and the one I was looking at was Revell Germany... The only thing I noted differant was the Revell America said in the description "Ex Revell AG Molds" whatever that means. Well, were going to find out pretty quick! (ha) Thanks again Joe!

Hey JoeR... I must be looking at something diff then you, The He111P is listed at 105.00 and the He111N is 76.00? The P is the one I saw in the LHS with the "N" at about the same as squadron. Still darn good prices!

Thats a friggin STEAL!! If I built 32nd scale stuff all the time I'd be on that like a rat on a cheetoe!!

Hey Joe,Also seems to be a few items there that are right up your 1/32 Luftwaffe Alley.

Sorry Clemens... No cure... you just have to keep building to keep the cravings to a minimum. Sorry, (ha)

Bill: Nope, no mansion. Just a medium sized flat in an old building in vienna (4th floor). I can't afford a mansion with all those models on by wishlist... Stick out tongue

Joe: My timezone has 24 hours, but I just go to bed really late (3-4 AM). Building time is from 10 PM to 2 AM.

So here is a question to you: What are you guys even talking about?

Doug: Yep, I need help... Do you know any doctor with experience regarding Eduartosis? Wink

Morning All!

Gotta get caught up here... Joe R, Man what a busy scheme that is! Ialso saw the decal sheet with that color pattern and its going to look great when you finish! Silly putty is the way to go!

Clemens... You really are bit with the Eduardtosis! I'll be starting mine this week some time I hope.

Bill, you just cant help it now..., The glue fumes are inhaled and soak into your skin and thats it... Its in you now and it drives the urge to build! Finishing one eases the pang but before the last touch up paint and fiddly part is applied your already thinking of the next project!(ha)

Guys.. I just got back from the LHS and OMG!!! The owner (He knows my weakness for WW2 aircraft and Luftwaffe in perticular) walked me to the store room and opened a box (I hate him so much) and pulled out a 1/32 HE111!!!  Revell of Germany, various versions can be built, including a torpedo carrier!

This kit is going to sell for about $80bucks! Fuse approx 18in, wing span approx 24 in... I think he knew I was hooked by the drooling maybe? Also (not yet arrived) he has several 1/32 B-17s comming! approx 36in wingspan! They will sell for about $260.00. Guess I better start saving my sheckles! Also better plan on buildind a bigger dog house! (lol)

Take care guys!

Doug

I'm going to build all Eduard kits simultaneously as soon as I finish those Thunderbolts.

See, I KNEW he lived in a mansion.

And I knew that he lives in a time zone that has 48 hrs per day.

Thank You Very Much Gentlemen.

Hey Bish, How have you been doing? It's great to hear from you. Saw your Me 262 over in the 1/72 GB. Excellent work. Given that Joe is going to extend this GB (hint, hint) I may build Hasegawa's 1/72 D-9 and also cross it over to the 1/72 GB.

A radial version would be really awesome! Especially with all that interior detail ZM is providing with their kits! (like a big Eduard 190!)

I think I have enough kits to participate in this GB, even if you extend it for a whole year:

  • Eduard Fw 190A-8/R2 (on the bench)
  • Eduard Fw 190A-8
  • Eduard Fw 190D-9 Weekend
  • Eduard Fw 190D-9
  • Eduard Fw 190D-11
  • Hasegawa Fw 190A-5 w/ staff car
  • Tamiya Fw 190A-3
  • Dragon Ta 152C-0
  • Zoukei Mura Ta 152H (still have to buy that one)

Bring it on bro. My bets on the Tamiya though. Nice and easy build. The ZM. Not a chance if you want to pull a nice build off on that one. Those are sweet kits though. One of these days I'll talk the wife into one. I think ZM is trying to come up with an A version sometime in the future. They are supposedly gathering information off of an A these days.

I know I haven't posted in a while, but I have been checking in every so often. Still some stunning work going on in here, great to see the GB is going strong.

Mustang, that's looking really nice. For a difficult build, you are defiantly getting a gem out of it.

JOE, love that paint scheme. I saw that on the decal sheet, I might have to try that one day.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
