I wish I had this pic, I just finished painting camo but it's not very far off. Love the helmets...

Nice work so far jibber. I have never tried an add on Zimm, how is it to work with.

Once thing to note on the markings. If I remember right, the 131 is red with white outlines. It should be green with white outlines. On mine, I painted the side numbers, and I used the decal on the back and painted over the red with green. This is that colourised photo I mentioned in case you haven't seen it.

And this is my build of it, I still have to finish the dio, 5 years after doing the build.

Glad your ok wayne. I heard there was 3 dead from all this, so it must be pretty bad.

For someone from a small country like the UK, it can be hard to appreciate just how far away you might be from something that's in your own State. Lets hope it calm down soon.

thanks guys. i need bigger keys or stop fat-fingered typing.we are fine here just light rain. still really bad up north. i am in a SW suburb of denver and most of this is north of us. lots of road closures and a lot of damage with more rain coming. the amount of rain would equal 10 feet of snow. COANG is using 4x4 fmtv trucks; 2 camo and one sand with armored cab to get into some mountain communites. i-25 main interstate north to wyoming closed and i-70 going west is closed too.

OH and no coast guard. that was a mistake. COANG helos couldn't fly due to low ceilings. everything is closed and 3 dead, 17 unaccounted for. i can't imagine how scary this is at night.

jibber

Tiger 131 is the one I built a few years back. There are a couple of nice pics of that tank moving to the front in Normandy, including one that has been colourised, which I found handy for the paint scheme, and the markings.

jibber, nice work on that. Do you have a pic of the whole boat that I can put on the front page. By the way, you can put all your pics into one post, just to save you some time.

I built that Tiger kit a few years back, its a really nice build. Which marking option are you using.

Jibber: Very nice work, I love the mud on the ramps. The Tiger looks really cool too!

Waynec: Sharp work there on your landing craft too, the tri-colour sounds complex but will look great!

Here's the base and the figures, I took several photos but the others didn't turn out very well at all...

Waynec, I thought the kit was a lot of fun and I had given a thought to using some fuel stain and add some small chunks for that effect. Just couldn't do it. I had a little fit problem attaching to top. I think there may have been a little warpage so I had to form it off and use a little persuasion but finally I got it right.

I checked out that site you gave us that carries similar rope and fittings, I'll definitely keep that one for later, thanks.

I had to do a double take, it looks like my bench.

Thanks Shiv, they were OOB.

I rig tall sailing ships so I thought this wouldn't be too bad to tie them myself, so I took some line and started working but I just couldn't get it right. They were lopsided and just didn't look believable  so I used the provided parts.  I painted them and added some weathering.

One other thing, the kit came with two figures that were supposed to man the guns, but there was no way of getting them in without looking completely wrong. I tried everything, even using just the torso but that didn't work either so I chose not to include them.

I really liked the kit and after looking at as many pics as I could find, a lot of the landing crafts were grungy and had scrape marks along the sides. I tried to copy that look as you can see in one of the quartering shots. The rest of the craft looks very  similar so I think I came close to what I was trying to accomplish. I've had a thought for a diorama, maybe...

Sorry about the camera, it didn't bring everything out I wanted.
