BTW, thank you, Gamera. But I owe all that I'm doing with this build to the "ninja" to be honest. I run almost everthing I'm doing or want to do by him before it shows up here. He talks me out of stuff, into other stuff, makes me redo stuff, he's awesome! He won't kill me. I'm his favorite student. Well, maybe at least his most obedient and annoying.

Aye. Ninja vs Pirate. Isn't that the classic internet battle question? Who will win?
Looks pretty darn good to me Bitbite!!!
BTW: Be careful of SP, he is stealthy like the ninja....

HAHA! I've already taken that into account!!
*secretly rearms the traps and gets the hell away from the window)
maybe I am en route, and I am mobile on this... sleep with one eye open my friend ;-)

Thank God, you're here. It looked like you went offline and I thought for a moment maybe you were coming to kill me. Now I can disarm the booby traps.
Cut the straps and glued one end on each. Used J. Lohr 7 Oaks Cabernet 2011 for the foil. Then the in-laws came back I guess that's all for building for a while.
Do as I say and not as I do... ;-) Nice picture...
Here's me following Stik's orders cutting foil straps for stowage in the blazing sun:
You can't see my workbench because it's in the hole with me. That's my wife in the background in the kitchen.
AND he makes me wear a MOPP suit and carry a 100 pound pack while I'm doing it!
LOL
Oh, boo hoo! It's 4 degrees hotter here next door to you and you've got me cutting friggin' foil straps for my Sherman!
it is flipping hot out right now here... 85* inside the house... no a/c, no model work happening today for a several hours for me...
Thank you, sir. Now I drink a couple beers and take a nap so I'm fresh for tomorrow.
That's looking great BB.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
On the bench: Airfix 1/72nd Harrier GR.3/Fujimi 1/72nd Ju 87D-3
Thanks, Schatten. Someone more knowledgeable than I pointed out two things that need fixing. So I'm going to do that, do the tracks, figure, put the hatches and MG on and that should be it. Hopefully have it all done by tomorrow.
That's looking really nice! I love all the shading/dust!
Thanks, Bish. While everyone's over in the Steel Cats thread, I'll sneak these in.
Here's what I have after painting tools and stowage, airbrushed dust, pigments, fuel stain, and a couple rainmarks.
That's looking great BB, and the markings are just fine. I think we will soon have our first completed build.
Thanks, guys!
Stik - Agreed on all counts. I haven't started painting any of the stowage or done any weathering yet. Starting that today. However, the mother and sister-in-laws are coming to visit so it'll be tough. If I start now I'll be able to get three hours in before they get here.
Looking pretty good there BB- a couple suggestions: 1) those stars are very bright- tone them down with some weathering/dusting a bit 2) the soft stowage items (packs, tarps, etc.) need a little contrast to make them stand out more- at that point in the war most of that stuff was a khaki olive color and Tamiya Khaki is a good choice for that color...
Model on!!!
Your sherman looks really good, mate! I love all the color modulation!
Love the colour variation on the sherman. It came out teally nice
My, you did a nice job with the Sherman, bitbite. What great results you achieved!
Great looking Typhoon, shivinigh. Excellent paint work!
Couldn't wait for an answer so I just used the decals I had. Here's the Sherman after decals on and some dry brushing.
Thanks, Bish. There's a lot of shading variations not showing up in my pictures. Also, the decal set that comes with the kit is "Summer France 1944 unit unknown" is it ok if I use them for this GB? Pretty much just the stars and numbers on the rear flanks, no divisional marking or anything else. Time frame could right but not very specific. Please advise.
That's coming on great BB.
And lightened up a bit . . .
That is looking great BB. That looks a good combo for lighting the OD. As long as its not white, you should be fine. I learnt that one the hard way.
Thanks all.
shivinigh - Like I said, it was my first try at doing this so I probably just got lucky . . . part of me just wants to leave it as it is and not risk being able to pull it off again. LOL Anyway, I'll give it a try later today.
