I do hate that, but it's done.  Should have my paint here by Monday and pictures up hopefully the same day.

My Sherman is all done except I have to paint the tank commander's goggles.  Unfortunately, I don't have the correct color to do it with.  So I'll have to order it online. And, oh damn!  I'll probably have to order a new kit too to make the shipping cost worth my while.  Wink

Don't you just hate it when that happens. I need to get some resin exhausts for my Me 109, and it seems rather silly just to order those on there own.

Earlier this year I opened a Flikr account because they offered one tera byte free.

Linking photos is easy with the firefox browser.  Just choose the image size, then right click anywhere on the photo and a drop down menu will appear.  Click 'view image info' and then save the highlighted text.  Copy and paste that info into the hyper link provided by finescale.

jibber, you need a hosting site, such as photobucket, for your pics. Once you have them loaded there, then use the Use rich formatting link and you see the button there for linking your photo's. If you can post some progress pics of the Tiger, that would be great.

Blacksheep, no worries. Sometimes it pays to take a couple of days away from the bench.

Gamera, will be awaiting those photo's.

I haven't been able to work on my kit the last couple days. Need to step back for a couple to recharge my concentrations. A day of fishing is just the ticket I need. LOL!

Picked up a walnut base plaque over the weekend and have been sanding and varnishing it. I think it's almost done now. The Churchill is almost done, the figures are pretty close, I really need to take some friggin' photos but I don't seem to think about it till the sun is down and the light is terrible...

Gamera

Looking good Ken!

And that's hilarious about using a model and not removing the plastic prop rod.

Thanks Gamera

Yea I agree. It's also showing their stupidity

Looking good Shiv.

got some work done this week end on my P-38. Finished the gear bays and doors. Painted with chromate yellow and washed with MiG earth wash and than a dusting of graphite.

Raven728

Hi all, I'd like to jump into this GB as well. I'm getting serious about getting back into modeling, and if that sounds like a strange statement, bear in mind that I have a five year old. Wink  I've also never done a GB before, so this will be a new experience, but I'm really looking forward to it! This subject is pretty near to my heart, as my grandfather was involved in the Normandy invasion. I was lucky enough to be able to visit one of the beaches (Utah I believe; did I mention my failing memory?) on my honeymoon seven years ago. I'd like to build the Revell M4 Sherman I've had rattling around for a while now, and if time allows I'd like to do another kit from the Axis side, maybe an 88 or 'Pips' Priller's Fw-190. Thanks!

Raven, Why would you think that is strange? Many of us have returned to modeling after many years of giving up what many call is kid stuff. I was out of it for about 25 years and jumped back into the deep end of the pool and never looked back. Also many members here have children and Grandchildren that are wanting to learn these things.

Anyhow, Here is the latest on my P-38. As you can see I did away with that little peice of plastic that they say it has to have in order to stand up right on its landing gear.

BTW: I recently watched a show that told about how the P 38 (I forget the squadron #) got word of Admiral Yamato's inspection tour of some of their differant airbases. When the company who made the video scanned in the P 38 models into the computer they negected to remove that little peice of plastic from the rear of the port side boom

Now you do know that most FW-190s  ended up as smoking holes themselves in Normandy... "Pips" Priller excepted... but the ground threats were far more lethal than the Luftwaffe to Allied armor...

Thanks for the welcomes! I'm sure I'll have a bunch of questions, especially when I get to weathering (something I've never attempted before).

Bish

I think we need to get some Panzers rolling to counter the Sherman threat.

Don't tempt me, I have a 1/72 Tiger around here somewhere... well, there are nine months till the deadline. Smile

GB's are a great way of learning tricks for soing better models and these guys have alot  of great ideas. And don't worry about them pesky shermans, when my Fw-190 gets in the air I hope to give them something to think about. Like ducking in a holeWink

Raven - Awesome!  Another Sherman.  This is my first GB too.  Ask anything and everything you need to know.  The guys here have all the answers.

Yes, I forgot to mention it is a 1/35 scale kit. It's actually from the Battle of the Bulge, but I didn't like the look of the improvised armor anyway, so this gives me a good excuse to leave it on the sprue. Angel

Welcome aboard Raven. Is that a 1/35th scale kit.

GB's are great fun, and can be very addictive. If there anything your not sure of, feel free to ask.

Your Sherman looks great, buddy! The only Thing I'd add is a slight bit of streaking, but that's just my personal taste...
