"GERMAN ARROWS" - OFFICIAL DO-335 GB
Posted by SchattenSpartan on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 6:58 PM

I decided to host this GB because of some interest in the Butcher Bird GB.

This GB starts on August 1st and it ends one year later, on August 1st, 2014

Rules:

1) You can build any kit, in any scale, as long as it is a Do-335

2) Please don't enter any kits that are finished to more than 30%

3) You can add as much AM stuff as you wish (or nothing at all)

4) WIP pics are a must

5) Crossovers are, of course, allowed

Thanks to waynec for creating the badge!

In case someone wonders about the title I chose for this: The Do-335 was called "Pfeil", which is German for "arrow".

Have fun everyone!

Cheers, Clemens

Clemen great idea for a G/B . I've got 3 of these in the stash but it would be a while before I could commit, with it going into Feb of 2014 might be able to join in at the tail end. Either way I'll be lurking in on this one!

I changed the end date to August 1st. That should give everyone a little more time.

I'll put in my name as tentative for once I get the FW190 done and a tiger I I'm doing just to learn armor.  August should give me time to find a copy of the kit too.  This one looks like an interesting subject..

I'm in Clemens... It will be a short before I can start though. Let me check stash and other sources, But likely will be a Monogram Pro Modeler...1/48 scale.

Take care!

I've decided to limit my GB entries in 2014 to a manageable 3 per quarter...so I'm in with a Dragon Do 335A in 1/72. Probably won't start until 2014 though.

Good choice of subject Clemens.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Nice to have you in here, guys! Take your time. I'll run my 335 as a side project, so There will be slow progress on this one.

Wayne: Thanks for offering your help! I had a look at the badge for the Fire/EMS GB and it looks awesome! I'll send you a PM as soon as I find some nice pics for it.

Doug: You're on the list, buddy!

Tyrithe: I just put you on the list as undecided.

Trey: You are on the list as undecided as well.

Just tell me if I messed something up and I'll fix it...

I'm going to build the Tamiya kit (1/48).

Clemens,

I think I'm going crazy, but put me down,  I've got a Revell 1/48 kit.  I've got to finish 2 Fw190's and a Me 262 that I just pulled out of the stash before I do this one.  I guess I'm gonna get my experience at german camo huh!  Hmm

You think you are crazy? I am participating in more GBs for me to know the exact number of them. Not to mention that this is the 3rd GB I'm hosting... Wink

Sounds like a great idea for a GB, I have all the Dragon kits in the stash. Just not sure I can commit as I still have to catch up on this years GB and already have a few for next year. Pencil me in as a possible if time allows.

Tony, which of the Dragon A kits have you got, is it the A-1 or A-12

Good idea about setting a limit. I just wish I could manage 1 a month. I think at the moment I should aim for 2 a quarter and anything more is a bonus.

Thanks for the info, Eric!

I'd order me one, but not for 77$ (55$ for shipping). I'll just order one of the Tamiya kits at Hannants...

Ok,    before I go wasting time, does anyone know if there are AM exhausts for the 1/48 Revell kit?  can't stand what's molded on it.

Thanks

John

I just tried it on SB and it comes to $50 with shipping. That's the cheapest option. But I see Hannants have the Revell kit as well, so would cost you even less to get it from them. But I am guessing the Tamiya would be the better kit.

There are some for the Tamiya kit. Don't see why they won't fit the Revell.

Clemens!  Why!  Crying  I don't have a 335!  But this is a great GB theme!  I love German WWII aircraft, and don't know how I don't have one in my stash, but I think I'll ask for one for my birthday and Christmas and see if one appears.  If it does.....no WHEN it does, I'll let you know!

I just ordered my project: Tamiya's 1/48 kit (single-seater). Not on Hannants, but on ebay. Hannants has only the kit with the additional Kettenkrad (much more expensive), but I don'T need that vehicle at all...

The kit was 30€ compared to 46€ for the kit with the Kettenkrad (I might buy an Aires cockpit set instead...)

Eagle90, I think I saw the one your talking about, while looking for some detail kits... Monogram? That is really a good kit, needs some PE and Resin but still a good sound kit to begin with, Only trouble I ever had with them was getting the hatches to fit right. I,ve had a Monogram Pro builder in stash for a couple years now, and can't wait to get started, but it wont likely be before the first of the year. Good luck finding one, they are always on Ebay at fairly reasonable prices.

OH.... Make sure you put PLENTY of weight in the nose,You dont want her to be a tail dragger!(ha)

Take care...
