Looks good Doug. That's some good detail you have going on there. Landing gear is not my favorite part of building aircraft models but I'm looking forward to building this one.

Well , not much build time this week, but she sits on three points and shes not a tail dragger, so I guess I got enough weight in her nose...

Starting to get some of the detail work done now...

Got the radar array finished and the pieces mounted...

Thats all for now, the weekend is coming up and I have ALL DAY SATURDAY , to do as I please!!! I'll get alot more done this weekend... Take care all...

Thanks guys... Clemens, your right , and you just reminded me how old I'm getting! LOL...I'll have to look up the date, but I'd say this kit is from the 80's somewhere... Ha... Time goes by my brothers, time goes by...ha...

Doug

by the way, I cant stand the look of those 5cm BordKanon barrels, WAY too long, I am intending to remove about 3/4in of barrel each, before finishing, Hey, artistic freedoms... LOL

OK here she is, I'm thinking done! I so do love this old aircraft... Not saying the outcome of the war would have been any different, but if more of these were in service sooner, I think it would have been a much tougher job to win the air war over Germany. Might do another given the time... Thanks guys,

She looks absolutely fantastic! Great work, mate!

Is there a particular pic you want me to put on the front page?

Thanks Clemens... Thank you for hosting this build! Picture choice is yours my friend. When time allows I'd like to do another "Arrow" I really do love this craft.

Looks great Doug...and kudo's for being first to the finish line.

I'm afraid I might be one of the last one's there at the pace I build...but, I do have the next day off work and plan to spend most of the day at the bench, so hopefully I'll have some pics up in the next day or so.

Cheers,

Brad

Doug, now that is a sweet looking build. You have done a great job on this, and that second cockpit is brilliant.

Just dug my kit out of the box today and its now on the ready to build pile.

Doug: I added your Pfeil to the front page. You are more than welcome to add another piece of art to this GB if you want to!

Brad: Same here. It'll take a while untill I can start working on my 335. I'm thinking of painting her in a desert or winter scheme, or I'll just give her a nice NMF in most areas. What do you guys think?

Bish: That's good news! I'm looking forward to some WIP pics!

LOL... Bish, you sound like me, I have a stack of kits in order of obligation next to my bench! And thanks for the glowing review! I had thought of just using the secondary rear compartment but felt that would too easy and predictable.  So I just cut my own hole in the primary cover and put together an acceptable control area for the radar /weapons operator. Thanks again for the compliment,  measn alot to me...

Clemens... man that sounds cool, sand or snow... either would look very sharp.  Thanks and I will begin another asap, like you I'm mulling over an unuaual type scheme. Gotta think a bit more on it.

Cassius, thanks my friend, looking forward to seeing your progress too. Thanks!

I have a separate shelf in my shed now where I put my kits that are about to be built and all the AM to go with them. The rest of my stash is in box's and a real pain to get to, so it makes sense to get the next few kits out at the same time.

You have certainly done a great job with the conversion.

Rigid,

Awesome night fighter. I love the paint work and great stuff in the back seat. Whose seat is that?

After a summer of a) fighting a build way beyond my skill set, getting disgusted and needing a break and b) the 'other' hobby taking precidence, I'm ready to get a build under way that entails progress.

Clemens, thanks for keeping this warm. I'll post up some progress shots shortly.

Good Modeling,

Thanks MA... The seat itself is a "Tru-Detail" meant for an Me109, 1/48 scale, they usually come 2 to a pkg, and like the rest of the Radar operators office was left over and/or scratch built parts. The head cushion was just a part of some sort from the spare /leftover part box, filed down to look like a cushion.

I'm hoping to be able to do another (like most around the first of the year) but right now, have too many irons in the fire to start at present. some folks do ten at a time (sorry C...lol) but I dont have the mental capicity for that gruling type of schedule! (ha)

Wow, those guys who build 10 models at the same time must be insane. I couldn't do that. Good thing I never even tried to do so! WinkBig Smile I heard that one of those guys even decided to add some rather extensive PE sets to 2 of the models... Stick out tongue

I know what you mean SS, I am having enough trouble trying to do 2. I find I end up just concentrating on one and ignoring the other.

Ah Clemens, when I grow up I want to be just like you. Me, I only have 5 in (active) progress right now. I need to decal and put two SRAAMs on a 1/72 Euro Typhoon, decal up a 1/72 Mk3 Tornado, get untracked on my Whale for your Carrier build, continue the pit on my 1/48 F-100 for the VN group, ans finally, get enough progress on my Pfeil to show y'all some pix.

Speaking of the '335, I'm building the 1/48 Tamiya A as FE-1012. I also have a couple of extras in the mix. Eduard PE, Ultracast exhaust and True Details smooth tires. I'm doing a bit of scratch work in the main wells, but as many of you may have found, good reference shots are hard to come by on the web. Anybody able to recommend a good book?
