Take your time Bish. I'll just update whenever you get around to it.

I'm off to play cricket now, hopefully no more ducks :)

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

hey guys

here are my WIP pictures on the FLAK 43 37mm gun. it will be in the travel position. i may check with friends to see about swapping a stash kit for a ww2 german truck to tow it. i will probably do a spot camo this time just to be different. ps the PAK 75mm is from a 2008 diorama.that took a 2nd back then. decided the gun and crew were worth saving and i dusted it off and added a pin wash.

bish, taxtp, greg; thanks guys.

base coat is dark yellow and silly putty to paint green. may or may not add brown. if so may or may not airbruah it. scheme is what i would do if they gave me the paint and told me to paint a pattern. i considered sitting in an open field with growing crops like wheat. this will be in travel mode on the trailer. am searching local clubs for a truck to swap for to tow it.

Here's the photos of my 1/48 Mobelwagen. Since I've taken them, it's got a flat black undercoat and I'll pray it together with an 8 Rad I'm building for another GB. That's construction on 3 of my 5 done, but the more challenging ones are still to come.

Cheers

hey jibber

kinda got into them at the beginning of the year. just refurbished a 75mm PAK from 5 years ago. will clean up crew and make a small base. also have a winter 50mm PAK to do the same. they are suppose to be fast builds (at least by my definition). have  a few more FLAK in the stash and 5 or 6 big guns. looks like it's time to practice figure painting for all the crews.

got the green and brown on, cut off and reversed some modeling 101dumbass (pronounced doo maaahs) mistakes. looks like crap but it seems mine always do at this point. will start pin washing today. now to swap something for the truck to tow it.

Hey everyone, awesome work!

Wayne, got you updated on the front page (my apologies, got a little behind).  Super work on the Flak gun!

taxtp, great job on the Mobelwagen!  I have one of those in my stash and can't wait to see how yours turns out!

speaking of the FLAK 43 here are somme pics of the camo. as stated painted it to set in a field with tall crops. will pin wash it later after i get all the pieces together. found a truck from a vender at local contest. it usually tows a 37mm AT so it will work with this too.

So far I've primed my wheel and assemblies with Army Painter primer. I use this almost exclusively because of the coverage, texture and it's a lot cheaper than many others. The main body is almost completed and I should be starting on the gun tomorrow. I'm thinking of putting this is a small diorama?

I'll have more pics up tomorrow.

Nice progress jibber. I am looking forward to seeing how this comes along as I want to add this kit to the prototype Ostwind I have already built.

Ye, those Dragon kits are pricey. You soon get used to it. I know the Eduard PE for that kit is double what the one for the Italeri is.

Does this kit have magic Tracks.

Jibber: Great work so far!

Bish: Yep, magic tracks included as well as some interior bits for the area below the turret ring. Hannants has it at 1/3rd off right now. I already ordered one (I love the ostwind, but the kit was too expensive without the discount IMO...)

Thanks SS, I was hoping they would not have those DS tracks. I saw that on Hannants earlier. Its tempting but I am really trying not to buy any new kits at the moment, unless its something that I really shouldn't pass on. My next Hannants order will be in Dec, so if its still on offer then, I may just snap it up. But its pretty low down on the priorities at the moment.

calling this done. threw together a little generic base. have to be careful i don't overdo the base as IPMS USA is cracking down on fancy bases in armor and aircraft categories and moving them to dioramas. (PS my friend and club member is the IPMS-USA head judge now).\

the kit is ok and i have a second one, but i made almost every model building 101 dumbass (pronounced like the french DOO MAHS) mistake. MMA paints, burnt umber pin wash and tamiya metallic gray with blue oil wash on the gun metal toned down with gray oil wash. tires are painted MMA engine gray and light dusting with tamiya powders.

may pull out JGSDF TYPE 97 SPAA or a 172 SA-10 next.

Superb work, Wayne!

And it even looks like duck-hunting camouflage....

wayne, that's a great looking build there. And not to detract from the model, the base is really nice. What did you use for the rocks.

thanks to all for the complements. the red/brown was hand painted and might be a tad thick in spots. yhe rocks are homemade castings painted with woodland scenes paints. next time will thin the gray more and do more layering.

perservered on this one too. which means more shelf queens will be completed in the future. glad the base did what it was suppose too, present the model rather then be a part of the model. as i get more info on the IPMS-USA base discussions i will pass them along.
