Silentbob, the LCVP is looking good, any thoughts on how you'll finish it. I built one for the Longest Day GB and had thoughts of adding a Jeep and troops entering the beach?

No, one of those will be just perfect. I think Spartan is slacking a bit , we will give him a nudge to get your completed build on the first page.

Hey Mike, Concerning your question about Doogs. No, that is not the same Doog that frequents the FSM forum. Although, the doogsmodels doog used to be an active participant here, known as doogsatx. He unfortunately has moved on to other forums, I believe. For what exact reason he departed here I am not completely sure of. It is unfortunate though, as he is an excellent modeler and was really an excellent member that shared some great skills and techniques.

That is too bad he's not around.  He has some really outstanding work on his website.  

Of course "our" Doog does great work as well.  Must be in the name, huh?

My Mustang was originally entered into this GB as a crossover with the Longest Day GB.  Well, I have had a change of heart about crossovers, and would rather enter a separate build in each GB.

I asked permission from Bish to do this and he consented.  So if anyone is interested in watching my Mustang through to completion, I will be posting only in the Longest Day GB from now on.  A big thanks to everyone in this GB who has given me advice and encouragement!  There are a lot of good guys and gals all over FSM!

For the 1944 GB, I will be doing the Academy 1:72 Me163B/S Komet.  But I won't be starting it for a while as I need to finish my Mustang.  And after that I believe I will be working on my Hobby Craft 1:72 U-1A Otter for the Vietnam Air War GB.

Mike, I hate to see you pull your Mustang from here when you're so close to finishing. But I'll certainly drop in on the Longest Day GB to see your finished product. My Hellcat is my first crossover as well and it is indeed challenging to say the least. I simply have trouble keeping track of who's who and where. I'm sticking this one out at least but, I believe I'll just stick to one GB at a time myself. But, on the other hand, it is easier for me than doing 2 completely different builds at the same time. My schedule just does not accomodate that kind of activity.

Ye, its a shame DoogsATX left, it was at the time we had our little issue's, but no idea why he went, he build some great models.

Mike, I am looking forward to the 163, I've got the same kit and have heard its a nice one.

Yeah Bish, Those were indeed some dark and unfortunate times around here. And unfortunately there were some really good folk who took it too personally and packed it in. Yet, for those of us that stuck it out, I believe we are experiencing the funnest and happiest times I've ever had on here.

I'll second that. From a pretty low point, we seem to have reached a new high and it just seems to keep getting better. Now if only I can get the forum to cook my food and wash my cloth's, I won't need a woman any more.

I for one would like to thank you all for making this a great site. I especially like the GB's where others are building along similar lines and the exchange of information. I don't know what happened to Doog but I've experienced nothing but respect and support from everybody. Again a sincere Thanks.

It looks like a very nice kit, Bish.  I like that the towing tractor is included; kind of makes it like two kits in one.

I will definitely need some painting practice before attempting that German paint scheme though.  But that's OK, I have 'till the end of the year.   Although, this shouldn't be anywhere near as complicated as some of the German camo schemes some of you guys have done so well on.  Some of them make my head spin!

I appreciate the support Joe!  I've just come to feel that I want each badge I collect to equal one build.  Not a knock on anyone else doing crossovers, it's just the way I want to do it.

I hear you about trying to do two builds at once.  That's why I am switching gears in this GB, it doesn't end until December, so I have plenty of time left to do a different build.  Hopefully it's enough time!. Ha-ha.

I know what you mean about trying to do 2 builds at once. I have tried it a couple of time over the last few months and I just can't manage it. I just end up focusing on one. And I think it ends up taking me longer what with clearing one build from the bench and getting the other one out. So when I finish my current 2, that will be it, back to one at a time.

Make's your head spin. You should hear mine, it sounds like a bag of old spanners when I shake it. What with German aircraft camo, trying to work out what German armour camo to use and when, never mind everything else, its no wonder I am bald.

I am sure the German's had all this planned from the start. We might lose the war, but we will really mess with their heads in the years to come.

Had no idea that Doogatx had retired. He still has his own web site Doog's Models http://doogsmodels.com/ and it has terrific photo builds and a wealth of information on technique. The site has a mailing list.  He may be getting into the professional end of things.

Well I didnt get to finish like I thought but I did get some more done...

Got a little done on the T-Bolt. Cockpit painted and grunged up a bit. Just about ready to dull coat.

Doug, that Corsair is looking very impressive.  I wouldn't have the guts to even try to tackle that weathering job, so your efforts are doubly impressive to me!

Tempest, nice start on the cockpit.  Man those 1/72 details look crazy small... great job with the fine detail painting.

Thanks to everyone for sharing your work.  Really fun to watch.

I have finished painting and applying decals to everything, and started the weathering process with an oil wash last night.  I'll post pics later when I have a chance.

Clemens... Been watchin for you in the other builds and I still for the life of me cant imagine how you stay orginized! Like Joe R says... only a dozen GBs hosting and about as many builds going on all at once... I think your slacking off on us my brother...LOL... I'm going to try 1 more "Wurger" to complete my "Staffle" before the plug is pulled. Hope you can get your (9) ? done???
