Damn, sorry Nomad, missed this one and have let this GB slip a bit. Nice to see you get this one finished, I think SS is still playing catch up on the forums after his long absence. I'll give him a nudge to get this on the front page.

Here is the finished Tiger 1 except for the base and more weathering.

Hope you like it. Any comments are welcome because at this stage I can still add paint or whatever the model needs to make it better.

Thanks.

Progress report. Okay now in the painting stage and getting ready to weather the Tiger. I do not like the camo pattern that I did but  oh well I am still learning the ropes with the airbrush. lol.

Thanks Eagle90 fir the comment.

I posted this in a new topic by mistake so here it is here in the right one. lol

Hello everyone.

I see only western & Pacific fronts aviation, so I am thinking of joining with a Yak-3 fighter, as flown during the  Soviet Baltic Offensives of autumn 1944.

Kit by Eduard in 1/48.

Cheers

I wondered if that what you meant. Those are not exhausts, they are a part of the air cleaners jack mentioned. Nice work.

Here is a photo of the pipes I made. The kit looked like it was ready for the pipes because it had the points for them. I cut them off and bent some spur to fit. When the model is painted and weathered I might be able to hide some of the places that are not quite right.

Thanks for the replies.

I've never seen this Tiger kit either, but those figures are definitely Tamiya sculpts.   Interesting how the track detail has been simplified, but the kit includes some interior detail.

Not sure of the mark either, but the feifel air filters were discontinued during the summer of 1943 - but I suppose a handful of these survived into 1944?

regards,

Jack

The exhaust pipes are on the back of the hull, they look in one piece to me.

Yes the tracks and running gear are one piece. That is one of the things that I do not like about this kit. Also the exhaust pipes were left off or out of the kit. I am trying to scratch build them. Hope I can come close.

Nice start Nomad. I don't think I have seen a Lindberg kit built before. Is all the running gear one piece including the tracks.

I know SS will add you to the roster next time he is on.

Okay here goes,

I chose this model because it was the only tiger tank that Hobby Lobby had. It looks like it will be a easy build but thate are some important parts that were left out of the kit that I will have to scratch build. The figures have very little to no detail on them. That bites. Below are some photos of the build.

Still have a ways to go. touch up paint and more building and painting.

Thanks for looking.

Hey all,

I would like to enter a 1/48 Tiger 1 in the group build. It is a Lindberg model. Just started it.

Thanks Guys. I'll try

Does anyone have any idea how much weight ( I use lead sinkers) needs to be in the nose of the B 24? I used a ton of sinkers in the PBY last year. The nose wheel just touches the ground on it You can feel it. It feels like its balanced on the main landing gear.

Sorry for my absence guys. I was way too busy to spend any time on the forums or at the bench, but everything's back to normal again. The front page should be up to date now.

Wow!  The detail in that cockpit is amazing.

I wouldn't worry about the belts...They look great to me.
