Ju 87 Stuka GB

My Stuka came in the mail. It's a big'un alright. On par with the 1/32 Jug. Looks like the cockpit is gonna eat up a lot of time. Here's a little video of me and a friend this past Sunday on the way to a fly-in for burgers and beer. That  cannon must've used HE rounds to make geysers like that. Yeeesh.

John, I wasn't able to dig those kits out yesterday. But I will defiantly get to it on Sat, I was able to get some things done I was meant to do then, so I will have plenty of spare time this weekend.

John, I don't know for certain, but I don't see why not. But first chance I get, possibly tomorrow, I will dig out my Academy G-2 and Fujimi D-5 and see how they match up for size. As long as they are the same length and width, it should work.

I have actually ben thinking about getting that resin set for my Fujimi kits myself, I have used it once on the Academy G-1 and have one for the G-2 and its really nice.

Does anyone know if the aftermarket resin cockpit set for the 72nd academy kit will work with the fujimi kit?

It's actually "only" 349 parts

I can only imagine what a Trumpeter Stuka must be like. The parts count has to be well over 500!!! lol

@Bish. As I'm sure you know, don't forget Rudel also flew a Fw190D-9 towards the end. It has an interesting scheme. I don't think he flew it much, but he wasn't just a Stuka man. There are some interesting schemes in the earlier stuka models of his as well. It would be nice if Hasegawa came out with a 1/32 B to reflect 1940-41. I know they have had a D, which is out of production. Findable, but at premium cost. I'm just stuck in 1/32 for now! Cheers.

Ye, I have the 32nd Hase kit of Rudels 190D-9 and the 72nd Academy kit with AM markings for the same aircraft. He was credited with 9 aerial kills flying the 190.

I am with you on the 87B, it would ne nice if Hase did one, the issue with the Trump kit has really put me off that. The Hase D on Hannants is pricey, but there is one on E-bay from China that's only £48, its been on there for a while.

G's are pretty readily available here in the states, as well as AM. I even found some metal barrels.

Their D is almost as hard to find as their G. Hannnants has the D in stock but it costs 90€. I got my D for 50€ or something similar on evilbay (coming from Japan). I couldn't find a single shop selling it...

lol, see, you can't resist. If my plan for my own model shed comes along this year, I may well be building my 6 Rudel birds next year, its a project that's been 20 years in the making, so about time I got round to it.

Feel free to add another if you think you can fit it in.

Bish, I may take my Rudel kit remark back, as I came across a Tamiya 1/48 Stuka in my stash today. Perhaps for an encore once I get the first one done.

Panzerpilot: I'm building the same kit and I'm very tempted to go with winter camo as well...

O, you can't have to many of Rudel's aircraft pilot I have 6 kits I plan on doing in his markings, but not for this GB.

I decided on the Hasegawa Ju87G Kanonvogel. I'm not a rivet counter, by any means, but it appears the other 1/32 Stukas out there just have too many issues. The other Hassies are quite difficult to find.

Keeping in theme, I found a Montex set with the Kette 6 emblem (III/St.G2) in it. However, I am not planning to do a traditional Rudel bird. Too many out there.

After a long search online, I could not find very many "unique" schemes on the G, so I'll be using some artistic license to replicate a bird lost on the eastern front. No records or photos survive. Most probably a Winter Scheme, heavily weathered front line bird.. Very much looking forward to this build!

That's no problem bob, I did say the badge could be hosted. Its nice to see the badges your hosting are all for GB's I am running, I must be doing something right.

I plan on completing my builds, but I wasn't aware of the protocol.  I just saw the "add when you sign up." Didn't mean to be presumptuous.

I only pick up a badge when I'm finished with my build and posted the pics in the GB...

I've got mine all loaded up to display while I'm building but not until then. If I commit, I'll finish. I know that there are those that keep a badge even though they didn't finish though.

I know, and they can be damn hard to resist. But they do seem to be more thought out and timing in relation to other GB's being given some thought.

Sounds good Bish. As long as folks do their best to complete and participate. Thats getting tougher as the group builds grow more prolific around here.

I am ok for people to display the badge as soon as they sign up, of course I hope they remember they still have to complete their build to earn it.

Personally, I never add a badge until I have completed my build, but I think some like to add it before as a means of inspiration to build so they don't have to take it down.

I've seen a few Stuka badges floating around the forums. Surely no one is finished yet, or even started. Hopefully, this isn't only about the badge. It is up to Bish though...
