I have a reel to reel projector. Does that count?

Hey Bish. I ordered an Aires set. I'm an Aires cockpit newbie, so it'll be fun.

I did it for the Ground Attack GB. If you want to have a look, the build starts here

cs.finescale.com/.../144726.aspx

And runs through to page 29.

Thanks for the link, Bish.  It looks like a fun build.  I can't wait to start it!

You still have a VHS player?

For those of you who aren't lucky enough to still have a VCR Stick out tongue many (all?) of the Wings of the Luftwaffe episodes are on YouTube; including the Stuka episode.

Nice to know they are all on YouTube. Time for popcorn.

It is a very nice build. I replaced the cockpit and cannon with Aires resin, but you really don't need to. When I compared the two sets of cannon, they were just as well detailed.

I did it for the Ground Attack GB. If you want to have a look, the build starts here

cs.finescale.com/.../144726.aspx

And runs through to page 29.

But there were no issues where you might often find them. The wings went on without any filler, I did use a little on the tail support struts but that was about it. I have done 4 Academy kits so far, and they have all been nice builds.

And I will check those out on You Tube, no harm in browsing before I buy. Thanks.

That Academy kit is a nice one, I built that G-1 last year.

I thought you mentioned in a previous post that you had done that kit.  Is there anything I need to watch out for, or was it a pretty painless build?

Nathan, are those wings of the Luftwaffe any good. I have ben thinking about getting some of those, starting with the Stuka ones of course, but never sure if there really worth it.

Mike, I will put you down at the bottom of the list as a possible. I know the feeling, I have a few GB's to get to before I start my Stuka. That Academy kit is a nice one, I built that G-1 last year.

Hey Bish - This post is for making this thread show in "My Discussions" to give me some motivation.  I have a 1:72 Academy Ju 87G-1 I am itching to start.

You can pencil me in if you like.  But I need to make some progress on my other GB's before I officially join.  I don't want to be a drop-out in any of them.  Since two of them are yours, I guess you'll see if I'm successful. Wink

RB armour barrels are also sold under the label of Armourscale.

I have mixed Aires resin and Edurad PE in the pits before, usually the pre coloured PE bits. But I have gone off that a bit. I agree about the Aires wheel set, a nice option there. I still have to get the HGW belts, I have never used them before, but I have heard plenty of people rave about them.

I have never heard of miracle mask's.

Thanks Bish. I hope I won't let you down! Looks like we all have some good ideas here. I had never heard of RB. That's a nice set of barrels they make.

I'll be interested to see how the Aires cockpits come out. That's a great idea, to combine the aires and eduard together. Also, Voyager makes a cockpit detail kit.

SS, how did you go about getting Miracle Masks? I suppose you have to special order them? Also, those HGW belts seem first rate! The aires wheel set is nice. Hopefully you can pick one up. I like that they give the option of a lightly loaded tail wheel, or heavier.

I won't use the kit decals btw. I'll go with a set of vinyl masks cut by Miracle Masks. The sheme I decided on only contains the swastikas, fuselage and wing crosses and a yellow band at the nose. All of those things are huge decals and I really don't want to mess around with something like that when a mask set for a few bucks makes things much easier...

I recieved my Eduard Big Ed stuff and the HGW belts yesterday. I'll use the PE cockpit set to add a few bits to the Aires tub (really only ammo belts, rudder pedals and canopy frame). I ordered that QB prop and Master barrels as well, but they didn't arrive yet. Ill go to a model show next weekend and Aires is going to be there too, so I'll have a look for those wheels...

RB also make the 32nd barrels. I originally tried to get the Schatton ones a couple of years ago but could get them, I didn't know they were OOP, so I got the RB ones, they look rather nice and I have used there tank barrels a few times which I like. I did get the BIGED set but now I have decided to get the Aires cockpit, but I am sure the pit PE will come in useful at some point, and those BIGED sets are good value I think.

I have had good luck with Hase decals, when I get round to the G-2, I think the only think I will not use is the yellow wing marking, I am going to try painting that one.

So far, I've added quickboost exhaust and props. The props will really make a difference and are a definite step up.

Aires tires and Master Model barrels. I found 3 companies that have made 1/32 metal barrels. Voyager, Schatton-Modellbau, and Master Model. The Schatton-Modellbau are out of production, however.

I also found some Montex Masks for the 1/32 Ju-87B and will see how the markings compare to the kit decals. I've had good luck with Hasegawa decals, however.
