well I was going through Dragon's website and found a couple tanks that might be interesting if anyone isn't sure what they want to do.

Thanks Tim!

No problem. We're glad to have you aboard.

Although, as we get more people, I'm going to have to figure out what to do with the backside of the group build mug. Hmmm ... *wearing my pondering face*

Oh man, this just looks like too much fun!

I build a bunch of IDF stuff anyway, and have been thinking about doing an actual M4A1E8/76 Wet, in Jerusalem during the 6-Day war for quite  awhile.

I have Tamiya's M51 in the stash, and should be able to find a suitable donor kit for the right turret, rear hull plate  and engine cover easy enough......   The time frame is good, I have stuff in the stash, what's not to like?

Pencil me in for an IDF M1 Super Sherman please.

Tim and Aaron, assorted modelers,

Still no luck on acquiring an M48--love that 1/35th Dragon kit, but everywhere I look, it's out of stock.

(In the meantime, I've got an Iraqi T-72 to whet my appetite.) will update you when I get the M48.

Fellow Orphaned Armor GBers,

I announced this in the WWI Aeroplane and HVGB threads, but I'll throw put it in here, too, in order to get max exposure.

We are finishing up editing the FSM July 2014 issue, in which a two-page how-to will appear written by our very own Wing_nut, generated by the work he did on his Albatros D.Va.

Congratulations, Marc!

Hello Giuys, I would ove tojoin even thou I'm not an AFV modeller, but it is never late to learn something new. I will probably model MENG's Renault FT-17 or one of the new releases of MARK V male/female tanks that are expected this sumer. When they are out I will decide which one exactly will be picked.

Also I will most probably start with little delay somewhere in December

Best regards,

Sasho

Hi Sasho,

Great to have you here!

Aaron and I were just looking at a Mark V in Soviet service in 1921, and the Meng kit has German markings during WWII--not that you have to go with those, but the vehicles will fit right in. I'll add you to the list.

And with Sasho, we now number 20! Thanks for joining up, guys. I don't want to put on any pressure, but it would be cool to have everyone pull across the finish line. I'm off to talk to Tom Ford, our SUPER AWESOME art director to see about a group build ribbon.

If you guys haven't already, bop on over here and answer our question for FSM's new back page feature, Last Detail. I know we've received a transmission from Bish.

Thanks!

Hey Tim,

I sent Mark my stuff.  I'm pretty sure I got a reply back saying he got it.  If not, let me know and I'll shoot it to you.

Yep, it definitely looks like.

I found a Ferdinad also in Russian markings, but theres already even a Diorama out there. So not interested in duplicating.

Guys, I haven’t heard anything from the shop where I ordered my Israeli armored car.  I’m getting worried that I may need a “Plan B,” so I was surfing and found an interesting variant of the M-8 Greyhound in Columbian service:

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vD9foGONLTw/Ughc3jJ4cuI/AAAAAAAAJcw/e69nQHmFCpo/s320/Colombia+M8_2.jpg

This led to a troll thru the internet for a 1/72 Greyhound kit.  Apparently, I have a knack for selecting really orphaned armor because I can’t find a kit available anywhere.  Does anyone have a good shop for 1/72 scale stuff?

Uh, Chuck, ever think of going with 1/35 scale? I mean, we're all doin' it. Well, except for that 1/48 scale AFV up there. But ... you know ... peer pressure and all ...

Aaron ... who is hanging out in my office at the moment ... says Tamiya puts out a nice M8. You should be able to pick to the halftrack with the quad .50s dirt cheap.

Oh, I know where this is headed.  Pretty soon you'll have me selling all my little boxes and replacing them with big boxes.  Nothin' doin'!  I need to save space if I'm ever going to build another Gotha.

Besides, I have a handful of 1/72 armored cars in the case already.

But that Tamiya kit is nice...and there's a new White Scout Car kit out in 1/35...a bit of styrene and some MG34's and I could do my Israeli version...hmmmm....

Ah Chuck, I can see it if you're trying to keep everything the same scale but size wise the M8 is pretty small in 1/35th- I can hold one in my hand without much hanging over.

And that Columbian scheme would be much easier to mask and paint in the larger scale...

Bish, I like your thinking!

Tom is working on the ribbon for the build. I think you guys will dig it. We hope to unveil it next week.
