Good hunting Modelcrazy!

My F4u is almost complete. All it needs now is the under-wing ordinance and decaling !

Almost ready for my "ready for inspection pic!"

Here is the progress on my Mi-24. It's going together well so far. Although I did have to do a considerable amount of filling behind the chin turret. Also I lost some raise panel line detail when I sanded the seams. The seams are so light though, it may not be noticeable once painted. I still may sand them off and cut in new panel lines.

Here's my Mi 24 after a weekend of work. After I make sure all areas are filled and sanded it'll be ready for painting. I am intentionally leaving off the main rotors, tail rotor, wheels and cockpit windscreen to cut down on painting complications.

Matt

The model went together well, with the usual Revell part misalignments, that needed filling and sanding. It is, however, surprisingly detailed and I am enjoying this build. When you can pick it up in just about any store that sells models for kids, with a cost of around $13 (at least in my area of Boise, ID), I would recommend it for fun. My next pics will be after painting and before weathering and placing on the base.

@modelcrazy, I too am in the Boise area.

@Matt, I'd like to join this group build using the F-4G 1/48 from Hasegawa, hopefully, it is okay that I will be using this aircraft for both the Third Annual Berny Memorial GB.  If not, I will definitely find something to contribute to this GB.

On the Bench:  Lots of unfinished projects!  Smile

Basic cockpits are assembled and painted with the instrument decals in place.  Now I have to figure what I'm going to add to the interior if anything.  I don't think much will be visable with a closed cockpit.

On Ed's bench, ???

More progress on my A-10. My F4U-4 is about 99.99% done so the final pics will be up VERY soon. I just have a few touch ups I have to do.

Wow, I can't believe there hasn't been any post's since my last. Well here we go

Here's my finished Mi-24 Hind.

I'm not completely happy about the finish. I used Acrylic for the color coat which made it very dull. I then sprayed gloss lacquer so I could lay down a black wash. This did not go as well as planed, the wash was too thin and just beaded off. I then thickened the wash and applied, but then I couldn't get enough of the excess off to be happy with. So in frustration I decided this will be a very dirty Hind (I've seen pictures, there are some). So I then lightly sprayed some exhaust streaks, and sprayed a dull coat to knock down the gloss.

I didn't like my method, does anyone have a better one?

I've ordered a canopy for the Hun from Squadron last night. So I will be building a F104C and F100D. COOL!

Matt,

Put me down for a 1/72 Hasegawa He111 P/H for a second build. I'll start on it as soon as I'm finished with the Chi Ha, F100D, F104C and Me 262.

At some point I'll get back to my Arizona.
