Yessir, there really is a strong resemblance. I also have a Re.2000 in the stash with Swedish markings, another cousin. And of course, a few years after these were produced, Republic's P47 arrived on the scene to carry on the family line.

That's what I like about group builds, they keep me going and pressing through when problem kits would have otherwise be relegated to the box of shame.

Well Doug, that can be several things:

1. Half built model put back in the box and 'left for dead' in the stash

2. tossed in the 'spare parts box' and pilfered for parts on later builds; and/or

3. That big ole bin called the garbage can!!

I can say that I have one of those. I have a P-61 that I have put back in the box several times because I messed it up so bad. I thought I could get it straight but to no avail. That one will never be finished. May make a dio out of it sometime.

Well all I guess I will call it done. I am waiting for a new windscreen from Revell.

Been a fun build but one from hell. Kept breaking the stabilizers off, lost windscreen, masking nightmare among other things. I learned a lot from this build and thanks to all that helped me though it.

Calling it done folks, put the finishing touches on last night, took pictures late in the evening, woke up this morning & wasn't happy with the lighting. Sooooo, you get this pic for now, think I'll be re-shooting the final-final pics tomorrow.

She's Done!! It was a bit of a pain and I had to spend more time doing repairs that I'd liked. Not completely pleased with this build, but, overall it turned out just ok. Definitely not a competition piece, LOL. Anyway, thanks for the support during this trying build and BIG thanks to Matt for hosting this GB. I just hope he makes it back to see that his GB kept going. Here's the final pics:
