Nice Big Boy, MC!  There's a kind of metallic luster to it.  What is the scale?

Bish
A ground launched missile GB sounds good, but I hope you will wait a while, there is a limit on how many GB i can be in.

hey BISH i intend to wait until march to even announce. assuming i did ok on hosting the BRAILLE SCALE GB i may get shanghaied into hosting a 2015 one..but i can start a list of weapons systems.

hey TERRY

if you want detail get the 1/35 one. seriously you can't see inside the cab so i wouldn't worry about that. as BISH said i have done a few and i don't weather a lot. ;weathering locomotives is like weathering modern trucks. the running gear/truck chassis can take on that dark grayish brown color from road grime. some water streaks where the tender, or in the BR86,the boiler saddle tanks, water fill hatches are. some soot along the top from stack exhaust. i wouldn't do any rust or chipping. even in the war REICHSBAHN locomotives had more resources than TIGERs on the eastern front and there was a lot of crew pride. i think i would look at the article i sent and at least halve what they did.

for the base get a 2 long narrow pieces of bass wood, one for the base and one for the "elevated" rail bed, some fine dark gray ballast, dark brown cheap stain, 2 sections of HO rails,  the strips of basswood i mentioned earlier, some cheap modeling clay, and even cheaper gray acrylic artist paint. that's all the materials.

when you get that i will talk you through laying your own track. i'll post pics when photobucket is back up

Checkmate,

It's a 1/87 scale from Revell Germany. I used Floquil Engine Black and Old Silver.

It turned out really nice, mc.  Too bad Testors got out of the Floquil paint line.  I used a number of their colors quite a bit--including the various slivers for NMF, and I liked the variation of blacks they had.

Outstanding locomotive, Wayne.  Very nicely weathered and realistic.

Track looks good, too, of course!

Wayne I like the way you weathered that 52 and it really toned down the red. The tracks are perfect as is the ballast, nice coloring. Very cool build.

aw, you're just saying that to get me to co-host the IRON RAILS GB in 2015. i think the color looks fine. you can always darken it up a bit with a black wash but, and i am not a big scale color proponent, in this case it works. i have not had the guts to try mixing colors yet,

i have the HOBBYBOSS T-35 and BA-10 in my grubby little hands. LHS, w/ 15% IPMS discount was a great deal. i can't even believe i am going to say this but both beg for AM interiors. probably won't start until 2015 due to other GB deadlines.

BISH you know something about that eh?

Thanks Bish, I'm really enjoying this one and I'm planning on a 35th scale BR86 and the AM box set. Next time I'll make my own track, this was basically a walk through to see how it is making a RR kit. Love it.

That's an excellent Hurricane, Theuns.  Looks like it builds up very well.  It is a really nice job on the camouflage.

And those are the kit decals?  They do look good.

Did you solve the canopy-painting issue?
